Multi-Receiver Quantum Dense Coding with a Non-Symmetric Quantum Channel
Chang-Bao Fu,Shou Zhang,엄정인,Ke-Li,연규황 한국물리학회 2006 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.48 No.5I
A two-receiver quantum dense coding scheme and an N-receiver quantum dense coding scheme, in the case of non-symmetric Hilbert spaces of the particles of the quantum channel, are investigated in this paper. A sender can send his messages to many receivers simultaneously. The scheme can be applied to quantum secret sharing and controlled quantum dense coding.

A controlled quantum dense coding scheme is investigated with a four-particle non-maximal quantum channel. The amount of classical information is shown to be capable of being controlledby the controllers through adjustments of the local measurement angles and todepend on the coefficients of the quantum channel; in addition, the four particles are distributed in two inverse ways in such an quantum channel. A restricted condition for distributing the particles to realize quantum dense coding in an arbitrary (N+2)-particle quantum channel is proposed. Disc brake squeal is a manifestation of friction-induced, self-excited instability in disc brake systems. This paper investigates the nonsmoothbifurcations and chaotic dynamics associated with braking systems. In most situations, decreasing squealing is a means to suppresschaotic disturbances, which would otherwise compromise the comfort of passengers. The proposed method begins with an estimationof the largest Lyapunov exponent using synchronization to differentiate between periodic and chaotic motions. We then observecomplex nonlinear behaviors associated with a range of parameters and plot them in a bifurcation diagram. Rich dynamics of disc brakesystems are examined using the bifurcation diagram, phase portraits, Poincaré maps, frequency spectra, and Lyapunov exponents. Finally, state feedback control is used to overcome chaotic behaviors and prevent squealing from occurring during braking. Finally, the effectivenessof the proposed control method is examined through numerical simulations.

Phlorotannins, the polyphonic compounds found in brown Eisenia and Ecklonia algae, have several pharmacologically beneficial effects such as anti-inflammation. In addition, our recent data show that these compounds may improve the cognitive functions of aged humans suggesting the potential ability to enhance memory in several neurodegenerative disorders. To examine the experimental hypothesis that two effective components of Ecklonia cava, dieckol and phlorofucofuroeckol (PFF), have memory-enhancing abilities, both were administered orally to mice before a passive avoidance test. The repeated administration of either dieckol or PFF dose-dependently reduced the inhibition of latency by the administration of ethanol. To investigate the mode of memory-enhancing actions, the levels of major central neurotransmitters in three different regions (striatum, hippocampus, and frontal cortex) of the mouse brain were measured. The levels of some of the neurotransmitters were significantly changed by ethanol. Both dieckol and PFF altered the levels of some neurotransmitters modified by the ethanol treatment. It is noteworthy that both dieckol and PFF increased the level of acetylcho-line, and they exerted anticholinesterase activities. Overall, the memory-enhancing abilities of dieckol and PFF may result from, at least in part, the increment of the brain level of acetylcho-line by inhibiting acetylcholinesterase.

To improve biomass and astaxanthin production by wild-type Xanthophyllomyces dendrorhous simultaneously in shake flask culture, physical factors, nutritional factors and carotenogenesis stimulating factors affecting astaxanthin production were studied on base of HPLC quantitative analysis. The results suggested that carotenogenesis precursor composition acetic acid, mevalonic acid, tomato extract, and carrot extract could increase the productivity of astaxanthin markedly based on the optimized temperature, initial pH value, carbon and nitrogen sources conditions.

The protein encoded by dynein axonemal heavy chain 1 (DNAH1) is a part of dynein, which regulates the function of cilia and sperm flagella. The mutant of DNAH1 causes the deletion of inner dynein arm 3 in the flagellum, leading to multiple morphological abnormalities of the sperm flagella (MMAF) and severe asthenozoospermia. However, instead of asthenozoospermia and MMAF, the result caused by the mutation of DNAH1 remains unknown. Here we report a male infertility patient with severe asthenozoospermia and teratozoospermia. We found two heterozygous mutations in DNAH1 (c.6912C>A and c.7076G>T) and which were reported to be associated with MMAF for the first time. We next collected and analyzed 65 cases of DNAH1 mutation and found that the proportion of short flagella is the largest, while the bent flagella account for the smallest, and the incidence of head deformity is not high in the sperm of these patients. Finally, we also analyzed 31 DNAH1 mutation patients who were treated with intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and achieved beneficial outcomes. We hope our research will be helpful in the diagnosis and treatment of male infertility caused by DNAH1 mutation.
