Objectives : The purpose of this study was to determine the factors affecting smoking cessation rate of heavy smokers. Methods : Typically, 81 participants enrolled in the smoking cessation camp at Chungbuk National University Hospital from April 2016 to November 2016 were included in the present study. The psychological factors related to group classification and the factors related to the success of smoking cessation were analyzed. Results : After 24 weeks of leaving the camp, 57 out of 81 participants successfully quit smoking and 24 failed in doing so. In the successful group, depression scale, stress scale, and various smoking-related factors exhibited intercorrelation and in the failure group, no significant correlation was observed. However, a comparison of correlation coefficients showed no significant difference. In addition, smoking cessation success rate was low when exhaled CO concentration was high at the time of admission when the smoking initiation age was juvenile, and when the smoking type was A (stimulus seeking type). Conclusion : Exhaled CO concentration at the time of admission, smoking initiation age, and smoking type A (stimulus seeking type) were associated with smoking cessation success.

본 연구는 기존 연구들이 성을 기능중심 관점에서 해석함에 따라 세대 간 성인식 분절화 현상을 심화시켜왔다는 문제의식에서 비롯되었다. 따라서 세대 통합적 맥락에서 중년기와 노년기 여성들이 성을 어떻게 인식하고 있는지를 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 중년기와 노년기에 속한 여성 12명을 대상으로 심층인터뷰를 실시하였으며, 질적분석방법을 통해 두세대 간 성생활 인식을 비교하였다. 연구결과 ‘학습되지 않은 성’, ‘소통의 시공간’, 성 주체간의 역동성,성생활 지속성과 관련한 삶의 경험 , 타 세대에 대한 성인식..과 같은 5개의 상위범주가 도출되었고, 각 상위범주 별 성인식의 공통점과 차이점을 발견할 수 있었다. 첫째, 공통점으로는 성생활의 첫 경험과 관련하여 생소한 경험, 당황스러움과 쾌감이 공존한다는 것, 또한 성생활을 소통의 시공간으로 인식한다는 점이다. 둘째, 세대 간 차이점으로는 중년기 여성들은 성적 욕구를 표현하고 거부할 수 있는 권리가 있음을 강조하고, 노년기 여성들은 자신의 욕구를 표현하기 어려우며 배우자의 욕구에 순응할 의무가 있다고 보았다. 셋째, 성생활 지속성과 관련한 삶의 경험으로는 중년기는 경제적 안정을 우선시하였고, 노년기는 배우자의 건강상태를 제시하였다. 마지막으로 중년기는 타 세대의 성에 대한시각이 차이가 있고, 노년기는 성이 전 세대를 아우르는 삶의 이야기라는 점을 강조하고 있었다. 이러한 연구결과는 중년기와 노년기 여성의 성적 웰빙(sexual well-being) 관련 담론을 사회복지실천에 적용할 수 있는 근거가 될 수 있다고 하겠다. The purpose of this study is to analyze perceptions on the sexual relationship of middle-aged and elderly women. Though sex has been a critical theme of human-beings over their whole lifetimes, the previous studies have distinguished sex of the aged from the one of the middle-aged by focusing mainly on the physical aspects of sexual functioning. Viewing sex as a lifetime issue, this study implemented the qualitative analysis through the in-depth retrospective interviews on 12 middle-aged or elderly women. From this analysis 5 key categories were founded including ‘uneducated sex’, ‘time and place of communication’, ‘dynamics between sex actors’, ‘sustainability of sex’, and ‘sexual perception toward other generations’. The study results are followed : First, for both aged-groups the first experience of sex was unnatural and unfamiliar experience but pleasurable, so-called ‘uneducated’. Second, Although both aged-groups perceived sex as ‘time and place of private communication with their partners, the middle-aged showed less reluctance to express their sexual desire and denial than elderly women. Third, the middle-aged women pointed economic security as the most significant factor of sustaining sexual relationship while the elderly mentioned healthy functioning. Lastly, the elderly viewed sex as a whole lifetime story. These findings provoke implications in providing relationship-based interventions to family welfare practice along with the recognition of lifetime approaches with regard to sex of women.

<P>Shear is an effective method to create long-range order in micro- or nanostructured soft materials. When simple shear flow is applied, particles or polymer microdomains tend to align in the shear direction to minimize viscous dissipation; thus, transverse alignment (so-called log-rolling) is not typically favored. This is the first study to report the transverse alignment of cylinder-forming coil coil block copolymers. Poly(styrene-b-methyl methacrylate), PS PMMA, where the PS blocks form the matrix, can adopt a metastable PMMA hemicylindrical structure when confined in a thin film, and this hemicylindrical structure can orient either along the shear direction or transverse to the shear direction depending on the shearing temperature. A monolayer of PS PMMA forming full cylinders exhibits log-rolling alignment. <P>The purpose of this study is to prepare new polyurethane gels that can be used as stress- or pressure-distributing materials, particularly by being combined with selective plasticizers for medical or clinical applications. Because low-molecular-weight plasticizer molecules in polymer gels intrinsically tend to migrate to the surface of the gels by the so-called entropy effect in polymer miscibility, the stress-distributing function may decrease gradually after a certain amount of time. Correspondingly, both the chemical nature of the plasticizer and polymer gels and the compatibility between the polymer segments and plasticizer should be deliberately considered as important factors in determining the thermophysical properties and stress-distributing performance of polymer gels. New polyurethane gels comprising separated phases of soft and hard segments, the glass-transition temperature of which was around the ambient temperature, were prepared, and selective plasticizers were combined to obtain an optimized formulation of gels for stress-relieving properties. The glassy-to-rubbery transition of semicrystalline hard segments occurring around the ambient temperature caused the rearrangement of chain conformations, leading to the reduction of the pressure applied to the surface; this indicated that the pressure buildup or loss was somewhat related to the heat regulation by thermal absorption and release in the phase-transition range. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 완도지역 납석폐석의 철분 및 석영 제거를 위한 기초연구

완도광업소에서 산출되는 납석 중 폐석으로 분류되는 납석을 대상으로 철분 및 석영 제거를 위한 기초연구를 진행한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 분쇄효율은 Rod Mill로 3분 간 분쇄를 실시하였을때 -30mesh의 시료가 24.76%, -325mesh의 시료가 19.36%로 상대적으로 우수한 것을 확인하였다. 포수제로 Aero #825 Promoter를 사용하고 활성제로 케로젠을 아세톤에 희석하여 부유선별을 실시하였을 때, 철분의 실수율이 pH 6에서 31.56%로 우수한 것을 확인하였다. 포수제로 K.A.X를 사용하여 부유선별을 진행한 경우 pH 4에서 SO<sub>3</sub>의 실수율이 40%로 나타나는 것을 확인하였다. 포수제로 Aero #825 Promoter와 K.A.X를 혼합하여 사용한 실험의 결과 실수율이 pH 10에서 35.90%로 우수한 것을 확인하였다. 자력선별을 실시한 결과 5.4K gauss에서 철분이 약 45%까지 제거되는 것을 확인하였다. 석영분리를 위한 부유선별 결과 포수제로 Amine Hoe F 3638을, pH 조절제로 HF를 사용하였을 때 pH 2에서 석영함량이 부상물에서 17.99%, 침강물에서 37.08%로 우수한 것을 확인하였다. The main purpose of this study is to find an effective separation process for removing Fe and SiO<sub>2</sub> from Pyrophyllite-containing wastes in Wan-Do area, South Korea. The results are as follows. Grinding efficiency of a rod mill were 31.56% and 19.36% for samples passing through 30 and 325mesh sieves, respectively, which are higher than those of a ball mill. Recovery rate of Fe was 31.56 % at pH 6 by using a flotation separation method, with Aero #825 Promoter as a collector and Kerosene diluted with Acetone as an activator. Recovery rate of SO<sub>3</sub> was 40% at pH 4 using K.A.X as a collector. Recovery rate of mineral ferruginous and sulfide was 35.90% at pH 10 using Aero #825 and KAX as a collector. About 45% of Fe were separated using magnetic separation at 5.4K Gauss. Quarts content were 17.88% in float and 37.08 % in sink at pH 2, with Amine Hoe F 3638 as a collector and HF as a pH regulator.

The lux regulon from Photobecterium leiognathi contains the genes for bacterial bioluminescence reaction as well as the lumazine protein (lumP) and for riboflavin synthase (ribE) that are transcribed opposite direction. The fluorescent protein of lumazine protein is a riboflavin synthase superfamily and shows considerable amino acid identity with the enzyme. To characterize the amino acid in binding site of N-terminal domain of lumazine protein, the mutant proteins containing 6X-His tag system were constructed and purified. The mutated N-terminal domain of lumazine proteins containing one Trp amino acid at the different position show peculiar maximum wavelength peak in fluorescence emission.

Purpose: The spreading, orientation, and chemotaxis the gradient of a chemoattractant of smooth muscle cells (SMCs) were studied on the micro-grooved substrata by the light, fluorescence and scanning electron microscopy. Method: Vertical-walled grooves were produced in silicon wafers by the micromachining technique. All grooves were 4~20㎛ deep and 10~80㎛ wide, SMCs were cultured on each microgroove and examined under stereo-microscope. Result: Cell clusters were markedly oriented by all the grooved substrata examined. Tim-lapse images acquired from CCD (Charge Coupled Device) showed that the grooves directed the migration of SMCs. There was no prominent difference in the migration speed of SMCs according to the grooves. All the cytoskeletal fibers were reoragnized in the same direction with grooves. Especially the alignments of microtubule and intermediate filaments were distinguished in the SMCs on the micro grooves. Conclusion: These results could be applied to the analysis of vascular restenosis and the development of artificial blood vessels.

The cement-based system among S/S(Solidification/Stabilization) is widely used to treat hazardous wastes. In this study, tannery sludge was solidified to evaluate the stabilization effects of using admixtures in the cement-based S/S. Fly ash as substitute also used to increase the strength of the S/S of hazardous waste. The compressive strength measurement and leaching experiment of chromium metal of solidified mortar were carried out to compare and evaluate the physical and chemical characteristics of solidified hazardous waste sludge. From the result of this study, there was increased of compressive strength by using AEW-3(early-hardening AE water reducing agent), and leaching concentration of chromium became low enough to satisfy the regulatory criteria. The successful solidification for the organic contaminant and heavy metal in hazardous waste should enable to treat by cement-based system using early-hardening AE water reducing admixture and fly ash as substituted cement.
