The design and fabrication of a bilayer Ti6Al4V–Ti6Al4V/30Ta component were performed by using the powder metallurgyprocess and solid-state sintering as the consolidation step. Phase change and sintering densifcation of the component werestudied by dilatometry. The addition of 30 vol% of Ta to the Ti6Al4V matrix had a noticeable efect over the microstructuraland mechanical properties of the alloy, which showed decrements of up to 12.2 and 21.5% in nano-hardness and elastic modulus, respectively. The decrement of these properties strongly afected the wear and corrosion performance of the component. Special attention was focused on the intermediate zone between layers denoted by a transition zone, which presented betterwear response because of the properties and microstructure caused by the gradient difusion of Ta. Ti6Al4V/30Ta alloyshowed an improved corrosion behaviour compared to Ti6Al4V alloy, decreasing 2.4 times their susceptibility to corrosionand about two orders of magnitude their corrosion rate. The bilayer component in this study is proposed as an alternative todecrease the consumption of expensive materials with improved properties.
Seismic Hazard Maps Based on the Intensity Measure INp
Robespierre Chávez,Edén Bojórquez 대한토목학회 2018 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.22 No.1
In the present study, seismic hazard maps for a region of Mexico using the ground motion intensity measure INp which is based on the spectral shape parameter named Np are developed. The motivation to use this ground motion intensity measure to compute the seismic hazard is because recently it has been demonstrated its potential to predict the structural response of buildings subjected to earthquakes. In fact, several studies suggest that intensity measures based on Np are more efficient for nonlinear structural prediction compared with other parameters of the literature. The results of this study are presented as seismic hazard maps and uniform hazard spectra with 2 and 10% probability of exceedance in 50 years. It is important to say that this is the first time that seismic hazard maps using the ground motion intensity measure INp are developed.

Agave fibers were extracted mechanically without the use of solvents or water, through a lyophilization-assistedmethod. Then, the internal arrangement of the fibrils was studied in order to elaborate a hierarchical growing model, usingthis information to explain the outstanding properties of these natural fibers. We found that the lyophilized fibers have aninitial modulus of 36.7 g/den, a breaking tenacity of 1.45 g/den and an elongation of 17 %, while the fibers washed with waterafter extraction presented a similar value of initial modulus (31.1 g/den), but the breaking tenacity (2.59 g/den), and theelongation (34 %) increased nearly two times, showing the embrittling effect of the freeze-drying on the fibers behavior.
Extranodal NK/T-Cell Lymphoma, Nasal Type, Extranasal and Ulcerative Blister Variant, Case Report
( Yadira Noemí Chávez Dávila ),( Víctor Hugo Pinos León ),( Sonia Tello Astudillo ),( Grace Margreth Loza Erazo ),( Jennyfer Daniela Granizo Rubio ) 대한피부과학회 2023 Annals of Dermatology Vol.35 No.7
The extranodal natural killer (NK) T-cell lymphoma of nasal type is a form of lymphoma that falls within the WHO/EORTC 2018 classification of cutaneous T-cell lymphomas. It is characterized for being aggressive, infrequent, and destroying midline facial structures; however, it can also be in primary or secondary form at extranasal sites, such as the skin or the gastrointestinal tract, among others. We report the case of an 18-year-old patient with an extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma located in an extranasal site. The clinical presentation is characterized for being multifocal and with erythematous-violaceous plaques that progress to hemorrhagic blisters and necrotic ulcers. Although this type of lymphoma has been reported previously by others, the presence of blisters is an atypical finding, which we believe has been described only in one case in the medical literature.
Abstraction, cognition and communication, on Luis J. Prieto as reader of Éric Buyssens
E. Israel Chávez Barreto 고려대학교 응용문화연구소 2020 에피스테메 Vol.0 No.23
The aim of this paper is to analyze Prieto’s reading of Éric Buyssens’ seminal work on semiology, Les langages et le discours, Essai de linguistique fonctionnelle dans le cadre de la sémiologie. The analysis is made from two perspectives: a historical perspective and a theoretical perspective. The historical perspective presents the context, regarding Prieto’s academic work, within which Prieto read Buyssens, for this we take into consideration the papers Prieto published in second half of the 50’s and the research reports from 1962 to 1965 that are held in the Prieto archives at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba. The theoretical perspective is mainly grounded on the hypothesis that Prieto made a “cognitive reading” of Buyssens’ claims. The analysis is divided according to three thematic areas: (a) the treatment of “abstraction” in Buyssens and in Prieto, (b) the problem of the delimitation of functional units as a cognitive problem, and (c) the distinction between communication versus indication.

Impact Behavior of Carbon Fiber/Epoxy Composites and Fiber Metal Laminates with Open Holes
Carlos Rubio-González,Fabiola Chávez,Eduardo José-Trujillo,Julio A. Rodríguez-González,Alberto Ruiz 한국섬유공학회 2021 Fibers and polymers Vol.22 No.3
This paper describes an experimental investigation performed to evaluate the low-velocity impact behavior ofprepreg-based carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRPs) and fiber metal laminates (FMLs) with and without open holessubjected to different impact energies. The laminates were made of carbon fiber/epoxy prepregs and aluminum layers andmanufactured by using autoclave. The impact responses of these laminates were experimentally obtained using a drop-weighttower at impact energies of 15, 20 and 30 J. After testing, the impact damage area of tested specimens was quantified from Cscanultrasonic technique. In addition, an X-ray tomography analysis was performed to assess the through-thicknessdistribution of damage in FMLs with and without open holes. The results showed that the woven FMLs exhibit the highestimpact peak force compared to that of CFRP plates due to the presence of aluminum layers, which induce a higherdeformation capability to the laminates. The presence of open holes in laminates tends to augment their damage extensionand decreases their impact peak force due to the local stress concentration effect. Nevertheless, it was observed by C-scanultrasonic images that the aluminum layers reduce the extent of delamination of laminates during the impact event. Postimpactevaluation using X-ray computed tomography showed that impact causes a severe damage to the laminates aroundtheir impact point and confirmed that matrix cracking and delamination are the principal damage mechanisms induced on thethrough-thickness direction of the FML plates. In specific, the results confirm that the aluminum layers provide good impactproperties and damage resistance when they are added to the CFRPs.

Development of Internal Carotid Artery pseudoaneurysms (ICAp) after transsphenoidal surgery is extremely rare, occurring only in 0.4% of cases. Surgical treatment of ICAp poses a real challenge to the neurosurgeon as treatment may require parent vessel sacrifice or artery reconstruction with bypass grafting. Furthermore, surgical resolution of these lesions is rarely reported in the literature. The internal carotid artery is prone to iatrogenic injury in transsphenoidal surgery due to its frequent involvement in pituitary adenomas. Intracranial pseudoaneurysms may be at high risk for rupture and increased morbidity and mortality. Here we present a case of a patient with an ICAp rupture two months after transsphenoidal surgery for a pituitary adenoma.
