      • The Process of Branding a City

        In studies about the branding of destinations, one finds the need to involve all the local and international stakeholders in the process of SWOT analysis and prepare a unique action plan. The Brand Destination Project of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Turkey is interested in making various famous cities culturally attractive to tourists. They expect economic and social development as they carry their historical values into the future. Antioch, the ancient name of Antakya, is one of the destinations targeted for branding in this project. Antioch was once the third largest trade and tourism center in the Roman Empire. It was also one of the first places to become a center for Christianity, drawing many pilgrims. It was a melting pot for many ancient civilizations in Anatolia. The purpose of this paper is to brand Antioch as a place where people have been living in the spirit of tolerance and brotherhood for many centuries against the backdrop of different religions and ethnicities. Furthermore, this paper includes suggestions for branding processes, responsibilities of stakeholders, and conclusions which may be realized by SWOT analysis and other exploratory research.

        Investigating the effects of ultra-rapid, rapid vs. final precise orbit and clock products on high-rate GNSS-PPP for capturing dynamic displacements

        The use of final IGS precise orbit and clock products for high-rate GNSS-PPP proved its effectiveness in capturing dynamic displacement of engineering structures caused by earthquakes. However, the main drawback of using the final products is that they are available after approximately two weeks of data collection, which is not suitable for timely measures after an event. In this study, the use of ultra-rapid products (observed part), which are available after a few hours of data collection, and rapid products, which are available in less than 24 hrs, are investigated and their results are compared to the more precise final products. The tests are designed such that harmonic oscillations with different frequencies and amplitudes and ground motion of a simulated real earthquake are generated using a single axis shake table and the PPP was used to capture these movements by monitoring timechange of the table positions. To evaluate the accuracy of PPP using ultra-rapid, rapid and final products, their results were compared with relative GNSS positioning and LVDT (Linear Variable Differential Transformer) data, treated as reference. The results show that the high-rate GNSS-PPP solutions based on the three products can capture frequencies of harmonic oscillations and dynamic displacement with good accuracy. There were slight differences between ultra-rapid, rapid and final products, where some of the tested events indicated that the latter two produced are more accurate and provide better results compared to the ultrarapid product for monitoring short-term dynamic displacements.

        A Decision Making Model Proposal for Firewall Selection

        Covid-19 pandemic required all the world to use internet more actively. As a result, individuals and businesses are more open to digital threats. In order to provide security within the network, firewalls should be used. Firewalls act as a gateway between the corporate and the external networks. Therefore, it is more important than ever to choose the right firewall for each network. In this study, a new linear decision making model is proposed in order to find out the most suitable firewall and the estimates are completed according to this new model. Also, this model is compared with multi-objective optimization on the basis of ratio analysis (MOORA) method. This study distinguishes from other studies by proposing a new solution which ranks the firewall alternatives using linear and MOORA approaches. These approaches are used in many fields before but not in information technologies. Thus, this study can be considered quite innovative in terms of the problem it handles and the approaches used. It offers up-to-date and practical suggestions related to a decision making problem that has not been previously studied in the literature.

        Fault Diagnosis of Bevel Gears Using Neural Pattern Recognition and MLP Neural Network Algorithms

        Gear mechanisms are key components for rotating machinery ranging from automotive, hydraulic systems to aviation systems. As a more reliable, safer, economical fault diagnostic method, vibration and acoustic signatures of such systems havebeen widely studied. There are only a few numbers of studies incorporating sound and vibration monitoring together, fordiff erent working hours of the mechanism, rotating at diff erent operational parameters. A bevel gear test setup was developedin-house to observe the eff ect of diff erent operating conditions as shaft loading, shaft speed, lubrication level and abrasivecontamination along with diff erent operating hours. The system operating condition was also monitored, by obtaining visualphotographs of gear teeth. Vibration and sound signals were recorded followed by fast Fourier Transform and Power SpectrumDensity computations to extract the features used in developing a Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) based Neural Networkand a Neural Pattern Recognition algorithm for fault classifi cation purposes. It has been shown that sound and vibrationmeasurements can be confi dently used to predict bevel gear fault conditions.

        Artifıcial Intelligence in Enterprise Resource Planning Systems: A Bibliometric Study

        Improving business processes provides companies with advantages in terms of efficiency and profitability, as well as competitiveness against other companies in the market. Companies that integrate business processes with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems into digital platforms also have the opportunity to strengthen their weaknesses by recognizing disruptions and bottlenecks in inefficient business processes thanks to this digital transformation. Descriptive and bibliometric analyses were performed in this study for a systematic evaluation of studies on artificial intelligence (AI) in the ERP literature. The studies in which the keywords determined from the AI literature were firstly used together with ERP were investigated from the Scopus database. 837 publications meeting the search criteria were reached and a descriptive analysis of these publications was presented. Then, bibliometric analysis was performed using common author, common citation, and common keyword analysis methods for 296 publications in the article type. Tsinghua University and Obuda University have the most publications according to the results. The most commonly used AI keywords in the ERP studies were “genetic algorithm”, “fuzzy logic”, and “machine learning”. This study aims to guide future studies by providing a systematic and new perspective to researchers and experts working on ERP-AI.

        Determination of Relationship between Thermal and Mechanical Properties of Wood Material

        Non-destructive test techniques are becoming increasingly important for assessment and maintenance. These techniques are very useful for assessment of materials such as wood, whose performance can vary considerably depending on the conditions of use. It is possible to estimate some mechanical properties of a material by determining the movement of energy through the material with the help of these techniques. In this study, it was investigated whether the wood material could be tested nondestructively by the heat energy produced by a source. The correlations between the thermal conductivity and mechanical properties of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) and sessile oak (Quercus petraea L.) woods were investigated. The thermal conductivity (TC), density, modulus of rupture (MOR), compression strength (CS), and modulus of elasticity (MOE) values of samples were measured according to the related standards and these values were correlated with each other. The linear and multiple regression tests were employed to determine the correlation between thermal conductivity and mechanical properties. The results showed that there is a very strong correlation between thermal conductivity and both density and MOR values. However, the correlations between TC and both MOE and CS were moderate. The results of this study suggest that the thermal conductivity value can be used to estimate the density and some mechanical properties of wood.

        Bleeding metastasis of renal cell cancer to anal canal treated with radiation

        Renal cell cancer (RCC) has the ability to metastasize to various organs, including the anal canal which is reported to be the rarest location. An 88-year-old male patient who had previously been treated for right RCC subsequently developed distant metastases to the prostate, lungs, and small bowel. Four years following nephrectomy, the patient presented with a bleeding anal mass which was excised and has been proven to be an anal canal metastasis of RCC. Seven months post excision, regrowth occurred. The patient underwent stereotactic ablative body radiotherapy resulting in satisfactory regression during the 2-month follow-up period, without episodes of bleeding. The treatment options for metastatic post-nephrectomy disease should be considered with a multidisciplinary approach in order to achieve satisfactory symptom relief.
