        A Study of the Yang-gyeong-gyu-il-ui (兩景揆日儀) in the Joseon Dynasty

        The Yang-gyeong-gyu-il-ui (兩景揆日儀) is a kind of elevation sundial using three wooden plates. Sang-hyeok Lee (李尙爀, 1810~?) and Byeong-cheol Nam (南秉哲, 1817~1863) gave descriptions of this sundial and explained how to use it in their Gyu-il-go (揆日考) and Ui-gi-jip-seol (儀器輯說), respectively. According to Gyu-il-go (揆日考) there are two horizontal plates and two vertical plates that have lines of season and time. Subseasonal (節候) lines are engraved between seasonal (節氣) lines, subdividing the interval into three equal lines of Cho-hu (初候, early subseason), Jung-hu (中候, mid subseason) and Mal-hu (末候, late subseason); there are 13 seasonal lines for a year, thus resulting in 37 subseasonal lines; also, there are 12 double-hour (時辰) lines for a day engraved on these plates. The only remaining artifact of Yang-gyeong-gyu-il-ui was made in 1849 (the 15th year of Heon-jong) and is kept at the Korea University Museum. We have compared and analyzed Yanggyeong- gyu-il-ui and similar western sundials. Also, we have reviewed the scientific aspect of this artifact and built a replica. Yang-gyeong-gyu-il-ui is a new model enhanced from the miniaturization development in the early Joseon Dynasty and can be applied to the southern part of the tropic line through a structure change.

        Enamel and Dentin dysplasia를 동반한 소아환자의 치험례

        Very few reports are available on the occurrence of abnormality of both enamel and dentin. This case has some characteristiced of both amelogenesis imperfecta and dentinogenesis imperfecta. Clinically, the enamel of primary dentition was completely absent and when the permanent teeth came to the pediatric dept. of Dankook University Dental Hopital for treatment. Fixed-romovable type resin plate was delivered to increase vertical dimension and to solve esthetic and functional defects. Hypoplastic teeth were restored either stainless steel crown or composite resin restoration or both. The periodic recall check and oral hygiene education are recommended.

      • CybexⅡ를 이용한 여자 태권도 선수와 유도 선수들의 등속성 근력에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study was to assess isokinetic factors between female taekwondo and judo players. Fourteen female subjects employed for this study were all national team levels. They were all university students and average age were 21 years old. The main findings as follows: 1) Taekwondo players were significantly higher than Judo players in Peak Torque. 2) Taekwondo players were significantly wider than Judo players in angle of Peak Torque. 3) Taekwondo players were significantly faster than Judo players in Accel Time. 4) Taekwondo players were significantly higher than Judo players in Total Work. 5) Taekwondo players were significantly higher than Judo players in Average Power. 6) Taekwondo players were significantly higher than Judo players in TAE. 7) Taekwondo players were significantly higher than Judo players in Set Total Work. 8) There was no significant differences exist in endurance rate between female Taekwondo and Judo players.

        고주파수 PWM제어를 이용한 ABS의 맥동 저감에 관한 연구

        The solenoid valve in ABS hydraulic modulator is a two directional on-off valve and is controlled by around 100㎐ high speed pulse width modulation. When the valve is switched from open state to closed state, noise and vibration due to pressure surge phenomena in the hydraulic line and wheel cylinder are made. In this study, we identify pressure surge phenomenon in the braking process of a ABS, and investigate the way to reduce the phenomenon. For the purpose of theoretical analysis on the pressure surge in the closed state hydraulic line, characteristic curve method based on wave equation was utilized. To reduce the surge, high frequency control of 20KHz was attempted. The result showed that the surge pressure of 50% was reduced compared to one observed in the low frequency control. Duty variation of high frequency can control current of solenoid valve and prevent sudden changed of displacement.

      • 수종의 글라스 아이오노머 수복재의 불소 유리량과 2급 와동 수복시 인접 치아의 법랑질에 미치는 항우식 효과에 관한 비교 연구

        The purpose of this study was evaluated for fluoride release of various kinds of glass ionomer filling materials to deionized distilled water, the fluoride uptake and the anticariogenic effect on the adjacent tooth after class Ⅱ restoration with glass ionomer materials. Ketac-Silver, Miracle-Mix and Dyract were used as restorative material for this study. Fluoride concentration released to the solution from discs made of the above mantioned selected materials were measured daily for the first seven days, and then weekly, on the on the 14th and the 21st day. After class Ⅱ restoration with glass ionomer materials, the amount of released fluoride absorbed by the enamel of the adjacent tooth, and the anticariogenic effect on it was measured and observed, respectively. The results can be summarized as follow : 1. The largest amount of fluoride was released in each group first day, and the amount decreased as time went on. Miracle-Mix released more fluoride than all of the other materials tested. 2. The difference in the amount of fluoride released by Groups Ⅰ and Ⅱ, Groups Ⅱ and Ⅲ, and Groups Ⅰ and Ⅲ was statistically significant(p<0.05), except that between Groups Ⅰ and Ⅲ on the first, second and third days. 3. The amount of fluoride absorbed by the adjacent enamel showed statistically significant difference each groups (p<0.05). The fluoride uptake of Group Ⅰ was greater than that of Group Ⅲ, and Group Ⅱ, greater than that of Group Ⅰ(p<0.05). 4. In comparing lesion depth, all experimental groups decreased lesion depth than control group (p<0.05). The decrease was greatest for Group Ⅱ and least for Group Ⅲ (p<0.05).

      • 표면 마무리와 복합레진 수복물의 변연누출에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study was to evaluate the marginal leakage of esthetic restorative materials according to the finishing and polishing technique in primary molar. 50 cavities were prepared on occlusal surface for dye penetration test and divided into 5 experimental groups according to the finishing and polishing technique : Group Ⅰ was not treatment and Group Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ, Ⅴ were respectively finished and polished with carbide bur, sof-lex, super snap, diamond bur. All the specimens were then thermocycled in a range of 4℃∼54℃ and immersed in 2% methylen blue dye solution for 24 hours and sectioned with low speed diamond cutter into two parts under water condition. All the specimens were observed at enamel―resin interface with light microscope and statistical analysis was peformed. The obtained results were as follows : 1. The mean value of the dye penetration length was similar in each group and was not significant, statistically(P>0.05). 2. The mean value of the dye penetration score was slightly lower in group Ⅲ, but the difference was not significant statistically(P>0.05). 3. Group Ⅰ, not treated with finishing and polishing, shows slightly higher value in both dye penetration length and score of the other groups(4 groups) treated with finishing and polishing. But statistically, there was no significant difference(P>0.05).

      • 鐵筋콘크리트 逆T型 擁壁構造物의 最小經費 設計

        This study is concerned with the minimum cost design of reinforced concrete retaining wall using strength design method. The constrained optimization problem is formulated in terms of seven design variables and sixteen constraints, with the material and construction cost as the objective function. The solution is derived by a feasible direction method using ADS. It is shown that the design variables are satisfied with all constraints and the design process are automatically treated by computer. Therefore, the minimum cost algorithm developed may be recommended to achieve the minimum cost design of reinforced concrete retaining wall.
