Yang, Byeong-seon. 2000. A Study of How to Write Korean Personal Names in Romanization: Syllable-based Englishization. Journal of the Linguistic Association of Korea, 8(3), 281-302. The main purpose of this study is to propose how to write Korean personal names with a syllable-based Korean Romanization system based on English writing and pronunciation. In this paper, I propose that we should use the term 'Englishization' instead of Romanization, which means Korean personal names to be written with the English alphabet, which is regarded as a technical, international, and global language. That is, how to write Korean personal names with Romanization is a phonetic translation from Korean writing system to English writing system. Also, I propose Englishization of 311 syllables used generally with Korean personal names. (Jeonju University)

The purpose of this thesis is to clarify the problem of the agricultural surplus through the therory of africultural crisis. In chapter II, we examined critically the dualism of agricultural crisis from Varga to Mendelison, and considered the monism of agricultural crisis through the Kurihara's and Ishiwana's. In the investigation of the theories of Agricultural crisis, we reached the following conclusions ; 1. Agricultural crisis forms a link in the chain of general periodic overproduction crisis 2. Agricultural crisis occurred late because of agricultural charateristics-the existence of ground rents and widespread peasantly. 3. Owing to these obstructions of law of value, restoration of agricultural crisis is inact. In chapter III, the mechanism of agricultural surplus was mentioned. Under the state monopolistic capitalism, not only general economic crisis but agricultural crisis did not occure so violently as before. After the Second World War, the problem of agricultural surplus did not come to the fore by the end of the korean War. Thereafter, agricultural surplus in U.S.A. was accumulated. It was Agricultural Trade Development and Assistance Act of 1954(PL 480) that established to clove the problem. Wheat exports of U.S.A. by PL 480 were increased persistantly by the first half of the 1960's. But commericial trade instead of goverment wxports of PL 480 became leading part of grain exports after the second half of the 1960's. Especially, Agriculture of U.S.A begen to lean toward commercial trade with the bad year of 1972. But world economy was confronted by a crisis of the 1980's, the foreign demand for farm products of USA food was declined remarkably. moreover, because of "twin deficit" in the U.S.A. economy, U.S.A. compels the import opening on farm products of U.S.A. to Korea.

The goals of the research are for producing and optimizing the CD-ROM effective and practical Teaching-Learning method. It consists of Wearing Korean Tradition Costume for the First Grade of Middle School Students in Home Economics Teaching. This research's summarization in following. First, the multi- media material, CD-ROM making use of Powerpoint. Wearing Korean Traditional Costume is produced to help the students learn the difficult contents in terms of video and audio. Second, It is introduced the model of "Open Education for increasing the efficiency f class. Third, it is developed to proceed the class with the CD-ROM and small group study of place activity. Fourth, it helps students concentrate on the class with proper sound effect whenever the slide films are changed. And it helps to link the web sited related to Korean Traditional Costume. Finally, another kinds of suggestions are following. The effective verification of this software that is tested and applied at the field for a given period willbe necessary. And, it is necessary to upgrade for the CD-ROM and the supplementary teaching materials in Korean Traditional Costume education.

This study was carried out to investigate the optimal conditions for producing somatic cell hybrids of vegetables. The conditions investigated are enzyme concentrations and duration of treatment for isolation of protoplast, concentration of PEG 4000 for fusion of isolated protoplasts, and viability of isolated protoplasts and fused protoplasts. The results obtained are as follows: 1. The size of onion protoplasts which are isolated from white mesophyll tissue is 52.6μm. The size of welsh onion and nanking shallot protoplasts is almost uniform (about 45μm) but the size of tomato and potato protoplasts isolated from callus tissue is various(21 to 86μm). 2. The optimal conc. of enzyme for isolation of protoplasts in the mesophyll tissue of radish, chinese cabbage, welsh onionm, and nanking ahallot are 0.5% macerozyme and 1.0% cellulase. While the onion is 0.5% macerozyme and 1.5% cellulase. 3. The optimal duration of enzyme treatment for produced intact protoplasts were 4hr in chinese cabbage, 5hr in radish, 3hr in welsh onion, and 2hr in nanking shallot and onion respectively. 4. Isolated protoplasts from mesophyll tissus were fused easily and produced the hetero-karyon with 25-35% PEG 4000 in inter-or intraspecies, while protoplasts of tomato and potato derived from cell were not fused easily. 5. The isolated protoplasts were viable until 1-2 days duration of culture, after 3-4 days they were died. The fused protoplasts regenerate cell wall in 1-2 days, while cell division and morphological changes were not observed.

With 216 subjects of freshmen at College of Commerce, an experiment was done to find out the correlation between physique-standing height, sitting height, girth of chest, body weight and physical fitness-pull-ups, standing broad jump, soft-ball throwing, 100m running. The results are as follows: 1) There is low correlation between physique and 100m running. Physique is correlated to sitting height, to standing height, to body weight, to girth of chest in that order. 2) There is very low correlation between physique and pull-ups. Physique is correlated to sitting height, to standing height, to body weight, to girth of chest in that order. 3) There is little correlation between physique and standing broad jump. Physique is correlated to girth of chest, to body weight, to standing height, to sitting hight in that order. 4) There is nearly no correlation between physique and soft-ball throwing. Physique is correlated to sitting height, to girth of chest, to body weight, to standing height in that order.

Environmental disruption has two meanings. One is disturbing of the nature environment by men, the other is disruption between men and the nature environment. Environmental disruption can be divided three categories, which is environmental pollution, destruction of amenities, and disruption of nature. N.H. Jacoby had divided into six classes about the cause of environmental disruption : That is to say, ① Doomsday, ② Minimalist, ③ Collectivist, ④ Zero-Growth School, ⑤ Austerity School, and ⑥ Public Priorities School. This classification can be modified three categories such as ① resource allocation responsibility theory, ② growth responsibility theory, and ③ capitalism responsibility theory. Especially, resource responsibility theory is influenced by new classic economics. This theory emphasizes economic efficiency, but neglects the securities of society, ecological combination, and cultural value. As environmental disruption of the earth has been discussed in the international level, the effort of settlement(between economic growth and environmental disruption) has been performed by United Nations. As a result, the conception of ESSD (environmentally sound and sustainable development) is presented. There isn't the only definition of ESSD. But there is a common recognition, that is, long-run existence of human-being in the natural environment. But ESSD neglects the problem of conflicts between developed and developing countries. Therefore, it is needed in the environmental policy theory as follows : ① The studies of causes and counterplans on the conflict between developed and developing countries. ② The policy study of environmental problems which is associated with international trade. ③ The study on the organization and role of non-government organization.

King Gasil(嘉實王) of Gaya(伽倻國) modelled a gayageum on a musical instrument of Tang(唐), according to documents on King Jinheung(眞興王條) and music(樂志) in the main subject of History of the Tree States(『三國史記』) He made Woo0Reok of Seongyeol birth compose 'Twelve Tunes'(十二曲). Woo-Reok went over to Shilla with a gayageum, when Gaya was in disorder. He trained many pupils and developed a classic music of Shilla. Some students asserted that Woo-Reok's hometown was Sinban(新反) in Bulim-myeon of Uiryeong County. They thought that Seongyeol, Woo-Reok's hometown and Sini(辛爾), the old name of Sinban were the same places. It was wrong. Sinn spelled 'kari' added 'kara', a mesons of Sin and 'i', a pronunciation of 'i'. But Seongyeol spelled 'sosari' added 'so', a old pronunciation of Seong and 'sae', a meaning of Yeol. For example, 'saeseong' in Madam stashing(史省夫人) spelled spelled 'saso'. Yeol also meant 'fire'. 'sin' in Sini seemed to mean 'kara', an archaic word. Kara originated in 'a large town' in ancient times. It was called as the name of a place. In result, 'sosari(省熱)' in was completely different from 'kara(辛爾)'. I presume that Woo-Reok's hometown was 'sosai(省草)'.' in Gajo-myeon of Geochang County. Sosari was the old name of 'sosai'. 'sosari(省熱)' had changed into 'sosai(省草)' by omitting 'r' from 'sosari'. There were 'kage(加兮)', 'sosari(省熱)', 'kara-buri(同火)', 'mari(買利)' in Kim Usin(金庾信)'s route of attack against Baeje(百濟). These places seemed to be old places in Geochang. Geochang was the borderland between Baeje and Shilla. Gajo(加祚) was called 'kaso(加召)' in ancient times. 'Kuso' and 'kasu(渠帥)', a county magistrate have the same pedigree. Kasu(嘉壽), the old name of place in Samga-myeon of Habcheon county was omitted 'buri' from 'kasu-buri(加主火)' meant' a town where kasu(渠帥)' lived'. 'Kaso' seemed to be omitted 'buri' from 'kaso·buri' equally.
