        Thoracic surgery may be greatly facilitated by causing selective atelectasis of the lung being operated on (one-lung ventilation anesthesia). But the tube used for one-lung ventilation is greater outer diameter than conventional endotracheal tube when compare to each other with same inner diameter, so in some young children it is impossible to one-lung ventilation using double lumen tube or bronchial blocker tube because of narrow vocal cord. We performed one lung ventilation anesthesia using conventional endotracheal tube and Fogarty catheter as a bronchial blocker in 11-year old women who received lung biopsy surgery and left lower lobectomy.

        교잡종 찰옥수수에 대한 연구 : Ⅰ. 찰옥수수 "연농×재래" 교잡종의 생육 및 수량특성 Ⅰ. Growth and Yield Characteristics in Waxy Maize Hybrid Yeonnong × Jaerae

        재래종 찰옥수수 F₁ 교잡종에 대한 생육 및 수량비교를 위해 충남대학교 농과대학 실험포장에서 육성한 이들 교잡종의 식물학적 특성에 대한 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 간장은 대조구에 비해 대학찰×재래찰, FR805/1K₃×고령찰이 가장 크게 나타났으나, FR805/1K₃×대학찰, 찰옥 1호에서 대조구와 비슷하게 나타내었다. 2. 착수수는 간장에서와 마찬가지로 대학찰×재래찰, FR805/1K₃×고령찰이 대조구보다 높게 나타났으나 대학찰×재래찰, 찰옥 1호는 비슷하였다. 3. 분얼수는 각 교잡종들간에 큰 차이가 없었다. 4. 이삭의 길이는 대조구에 비해 교잡종들이 거의 2배이상의 크기를 나타내었다. 5. 이삭직경은 FR805/1K₃× 고령찰의 교잡종을 제외하고 대조구와 비슷하게 나타났다. 6. 이삭열수는 Daehakchal×1K₁/LE만이 대조구와 유의성을 나타내고 기타 교잡종은 대조구와 비슷하였다. In order to evaluate the characteristics of growth and yield in F_(1) waxy hybrids using Korean local maize lines, six hybrids including check, Chalok # 1, were planted at the experinental field of e Chungnam National University. Stem and ear heights of Yeonnong × Jaerae and FR805/IK_(3) × Koryong hybrids were higher than the check hybrid. Number of fillers per plant in all hybrids were similar as 0.3 to 0.5 per plant Ear length of waxy hybrids was longer than 15㎝ of check hybrid and ear diameter was also thicker than check except FR805/IK_(3) × Koryong waxy hybrid. A final result, Yeonnong × Jaerae among hybrids was comparatively superior to other hybrids in the test.

      • BaCO₃-Fe₂O₃系의 固體反應 및 바륨페라이트의 磁氣的 性質에 미치는 粉碎時間의 影響

        The effects of ball-mill time on the soild state reaction in the system BaCO₃-Fe₂O₃and the magnetic properties of Ba-ferrite (FaFe₁₂??) have been studied. BaCO₃-Fe₂O₃mixturess were prepared by ball-milling for varying lengths of time; 5, 15, 30, 80 and 200 hours. Techniques employed were thermogravimetry, X-ray diffraction analysis, scanning electron microscopy and B-H curve tracer. It was shown that the aggregation states and superparamagnetic size fractions obtained by increasing ball-mill time have remakable effects on solid state reactions and magnetic properties of Ba-ferrite; i.e. the coercive force and remanent magnetization increased with increasing ball-mill time going through a maximum at around 15 hours ball-mill time.

        Robert Owen's Village of Unity and Mutual Co-operation and Charles Fourier's Phalanstere, which were the representative ideas for city-planning since the Industrial Revolution, were oriented for the changes in the economy, society and culture during their times. They were designated to overcome issues such as the destruction of the past order which resulted from newly-introduced economic systems, environmental problems caused by the cityward tendency of the population, and problems resulted from the subordinate relationship between capital and labor. They were theoretically based on the ideal of Socialism. As a planning philosophy for the ideal city, they proposed to supplement the distorted industrial structure of a city with a self-sufficient policy consisting of agriculture and small-sized manual industries. For this purpose, the whole city should be considered as one community in production and consumption. With regard to the overall arrangement model, buildings were supposed to be placed in the symmetric frame, whose model can be called centralization pattern. The public facilities were located in the center and were surrounded with the dwelling complexes appearing as a type of collective residence. Technologically, Owen used a central heating system and Fourier experimented with a glass roof, which was regarded as a new technology at that time. Their utopian proposals based on ideal socialism were quite aggressive and imaginary, thus they did not come true. Nevertheless, they have played a role as a sample (or model) of city-planning, so far due to the idea of the association of city and rural town, the residence patterns of laborers, and also the management of a cooperative. In reality, Robert Owen's Village of Unity and Mutual Co-operation had an influence on E. Howard's Garden City and New Town of England, and Charles Fourier's Phalanstere had an effect of Tony Garnier's La Cite' Industrielle and Le Corbusier. Moreover, their collective residence pattern has been expected to be one of the most positive models of the modern new city.

      • 동방결절의 부위별 전기적 특성에 관한 연구

        In order to investigate the regional eiectrophysiological characteristics of the rabbit SA node, the node was tied with fine silk threads into small preparations(0.5XO.5mm in size) and electrotonic connection between them was insulated. The preparations were divided into three groups, as peripheral, transitional and central areas. Three glass microelectrodes were inserted into the cells in each area and the data were collected when transmembrane potentials of each area was recorded simultaneously. 1. As the Na^+ concentration of the solution was reduced to 80, 60, and 40% of control, the beating frequency, the maximum diastolic potential(MDP), overshoot and the maximum upstroke velocity(Vmax) were decreased. The decrease of the beating frequency was more marked in the central area, and the spontaneous beating was arrested by the reduction of Na^+ concentration more than 60%. 2. In the peripheral area, MDP was decreased as the 2mM K^+ concentration reduced to 1 mM. At high K^+ concentration(12mM), the spontaneous beating of the central area was stopped in the 50% of preparations. 3. The decrease of the spontaenous beating frequency, due to Ach(Acetylcholine) was more prominent in the central area. The increase of the MDP was marked in the central area, however, the decrease of overshoot was distinct in the peripheral area. 4. The peripheral area was the most sensitive to TTX(Tetrodotoxin). The effects of epinephrine which changed the parameters of the action potential were more marked in the central area, but the effects were more marked in the peripheral area when the preparations were pre-treated with TTX. 5. The amplitude of the Na^+-K^+ pump activity of the peripheral area was larger and decreased in the transitional and the central area in sequence. The electrophysiological characteristics of the SA nodal cells have shown various differences by the locations. Especially, the central area which considered as the leading pacemaker are generally more sensitive to the various interventions.

      • 飮食物쓰레기의 效率的 管理를 위한 物理的 特性 및 處理

        This study was conducted to manage food wastes in Korea efficiently. We carried out an experiments on food wastes generated from Yeonjae gu, Pusan as a representative boundary according to the measurement of apparent density, generation quantity, physical characteristics, proximate analysis, and elemental analysis as well as drying and carbonizing, and also tested the hazardous materials in fertilizer and compost from public and private recycling center in operation. The purposes of this study are to investigate current status of food wastes recycling methods and facilities, to examine the fuelization of food wastes, and to suggest the cost effective food wastes treatment plans. Based on the results of the analysis of apparent density and water content in food wastes, it was revealed that the apparent density of food wastes was in inverse proportion to the water content. The water content of food wastes was highly influenced by the fruit and vegetables such as watermelons. These results indicate that the food wastes with about 75 ~80wt% initial moisture content should be reduced under 70wt% moisture content by drying process pier to throwing away. Comparing the heating values of the food wastes which were calculated by Dulong's equation and Steuer's equation it was revealed that Steuer's equation(HHV 5,186 kcal/kg, LHV 880 kcal/kg) was more compatible than Dulong's equation(HHV 4,676 kcal/kg, LHV 330 kcal/kg) because the results of proximate analysis for the food wastes were very similar to those of sewage sludges. Additionally, to reduce water contents of food wastes under 60wt% as acceptable water contents for fuelization, it was also found that blending with 25wt% chars made from food wastes was more efficient than the drying of food wastes itself at 105°C, 45minutes in view of completion time. Furthermore, these chars generated from food wastes (about LHV 6,608 kcal/kg) comparable to commercial charcoal(LHV 7,134 kcal/kg) generated from oak trees and lower ash contents(under 15wt% of chars) than those.

        교잡종 찰옥수수에 대한 연구 : Ⅱ. 새로 육성된 찰옥수수 교잡종 "대덕찰"에 대한 농업적 특성 Ⅱ. Agronomic Characteristics of the New Waxy Hybrids "Daedukchals"

        1. 새로 육성된 4개의 대덕찰 찰옥수수 교잡종에 대한 간장은 대조구인 찰옥 1호보다 큰 반면에 개화기는 약 4∼7일 늦었으며, 모든 공시 교잡종의 주당 분얼수는 한 개이하의 무효분얼로 나타났다. 2. 새로 육성된 대덕찰옥수수의 이삭길이와 직경은 대조구인 찰옥 1호보다 크게 나타났으며, 특히 대덕찰옥수수 1호와 2호의 과피두께는 대구조보다 얇았고, 당도 역시 높게 나타나 우수 교잡종으로 평가되었다. Stem height of the new developed "Daedekchals" waxy hybrids were higher than check hybrid. Chalok #1, while days to tasseling were delayed about four to seven days. Number of tillers per plant of the these new hybrids including check were appeared to be one less as non-effective tiller. Ear length and diameter of the new waxy hybrids were longer and thicker than check, respectively. In addition pericarp thickness of the Daedekchal #1 and #2 among new developed waxy hybrids were thinner and sugar content were higher than check.

      • 고속형 PMSM 전류 제어 특성의 예측 가능한 시뮬레이터의 구현

        The high speed PMSM (Permanent magnet synchronous motor) consists of low phase inductance and phase resistance then normal speed PMSM. Additionally current control frequency is relatively low as compared with high output frequency. In this reason, current control for the high speed PMSM is difficult and prediction is necessary prior to implementation of hardware system. In this paper, the simulator that can predict characteristic of the high speed PMSM's current control is implemented. This simulator is identical to hardware system with a digital current controller and a SVPWM (Space Vector PWM) generator at the synchronous coordinate system's vector control loop.

        Trichorhinophalangeal syndrome(TRPS) typeⅠis characterized by sparse and slow-growing hairs, pear-shaped nose, elongated philtrum, thin upper lip, and bone deformities, especially, cone-shaped epiphyses of the phalanges. The syndrome is inherited in an autosomal dominant manner. We report a case of TRPS typeⅠ with alopecia like male pattern baldness and Perthes-like changes on the right hip joint.
