Fault-tolerant Controller Design for Active Suspension System with Proportional Differential Sliding Mode Observer

Bin Lin,Xiaoyu Su 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2019 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.17 No.7

This paper proposes a fault-tolerant control scheme for the quarter active suspension systems with uncertainties and nonlinear. First, by the generalized augmented transformation, state variables, actuator faults, sensorfaults and external disturbances are converted to the augmented states then the subsequent calculation becomessimple. Second, on the basis of the generalized augmented system, a new sliding mode observer with proportional terms and differential terms is designed for state estimation and fault reconstruction. In order to improve theride comfort and operation stability of the automobile in an all-round way, a fault-tolerant controller is designedfor active suspension system. The simulations are conducted to illustrate the effectiveness and advantages of thisproposed observer and control strategy.

Effects of Chitosan on Body Weight Gain, Growth Hormone and Intestinal Morphology in Weaned Pigs

        Xu, Yuanqing,Shi, Binlin,Yan, Sumei,Li, Tiyu,Guo, Yiwei,Li, Junliang Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2013 Animal Bioscience Vol.26 No.10

The study was conducted to determine the effects of chitosan on the concentrations of GH and IGF-I in serum and small intestinal morphological structure of piglets, in order to evaluate the regulating action of chitosan on weaned pig growth through endocrine and intestinal morphological approaches. A total of 180 weaned pigs (35 d of age; $11.56{\pm}1.61kg$ of body weight) were selected and assigned randomly to 5 dietary treatments, including 1 basal diet (control) and 4 diets with chitosan supplementation (100, 500, 1,000 and 2,000 mg/kg, respectively). Each treatment contained six replicate pens with six pigs per pen. The experiment lasted for 28 d. The results showed that the average body weight gain (BWG) of pigs was improved quadratically by dietary chitosan during the former 14 d and the later 14 d after weaned (p<0.05). Furthermore, dietary supplementation of chitosan tended to quadratically increase the concentration of serum GH on d 14 (p = 0.082) and 28 (p = 0.087). Diets supplemented with increasing levels of chitosan increased quadratically the villus height of jejunum and ileum on d 14 (p = 0.089, p<0.01) and 28 (p = 0.074, p<0.01), meanwhile, chitosan increased quadratically the ratio of villus height to crypt depth in duodenum, jejunum and ileum on d 14 (p<0.05, p = 0.055, p<0.01) and 28 (p<0.01, p<0.01, p<0.01), however, it decreased quadratically crypt depth in ileum on d 14 (p<0.05) and that in duodenum, jejunum and ileum on d 28 (p<0.01, p<0.05, p<0.05). In conclusion, these results indicated that chitosan could quadratically improve growth in weaned pigs, and the underlying mechanism may due to the increase of the serum GH concentration and improvement of the small intestines morphological structure.

Seismic performance of high-strength steel framed-tube structures with bolted web-connected replaceable shear links

        Ming Lian,Qianqian Cheng,Binlin Guan,Hao Zhang,Mingzhou Su 국제구조공학회 2020 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.37 No.3

In steel framed-tube structures (SFTSs), the plastic hinges at beam-ends cannot be adequately improved because of the large cross sections of spandrel beams, which results in the lower ductility and energy dissipation capacities of traditional SFTSs. To address this drawback, high-strength steel fabricated SFTSs with bolted web-connected replaceable shear links (HSFTS-SLs) have been proposed. In this system, shear links use conventional steel and are placed in the middle of the deep spandrel beams to act as energy dissipative components. In this study, 2/3-scaled HSFTS-SL specimens were fabricated, and cyclic loading tests were carried out to study the seismic performance of both specimens. The finite element models (FEMs) of the two specimens were established and the numerical results were compared with the test results. The results showed that the specimens had good ductility and energy dissipation capacities due to the reliable deformation capacities. The specimens presented the expected failure modes. Using a shorter shear link can provide a higher load-carrying capacity and initial elastic lateral stiffness but induces lower ductility and energy dissipation capacity in HSFTS-SLs. The performance of the specimens was comparable to that of the original sub-structure specimens after replacing shear links. Additionally, the expected post-earthquake recoverability and resilience of the structures could be achieved by replacing shear links. The acceptable residual interstory drift that allows for easy replacement of the bolted web-connected shear link was 0.23%. The bolted web-connected shear links had reliable hysteretic responses and deformation capacities. The connection rotation had a notable contribution to total link rotation. The results of the numerical analysis run for the proposed FEMs were consistent with the test results. It showed that the proposed FEMs could be used to investigate the seismic performance of the HSFTS-SL.

Concentrations of Calcium-binding Protein and Bone Gla-protein in Culture Medium and CaBP mRNA Expression in Osteoblasts of Broiler Chickens

Guo, Xiaoyu,Yan, Sumei,Shi, Binlin,Feng, Yongmiao Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2011 Animal Bioscience Vol.24 No.2

This study was conducted to determine the effects of excess vitamin A on alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity, contents of calcium-binding protein (CaBP), bone gla-protein (BGP) in culture medium and CaBP mRNA expression in chicken osteoblasts in vitro. Osteoblastic cells in the tibia from 1-day-old Arbor Acre broiler chickens were isolated using enzyme digestion. The subconfluenced cells were divided into eight treatments with six replicates in each treatment and cultured in a medium containing either vehicle or different levels of vitamin A (0, 0.2, 0.6, 1.0, 2.0, 5.0, 10.0 and $20.0\;{\mu}g$/ml), and the control received an equivalent volume of ethanol. The incubation lasted 48 h. The results showed that vitamin A down-regulated ALP activity in the culture medium as well as CaBP mRNA expression of osteoblasts in a linear dose-dependent manner (p = 0.124 and p<0.10, respectively), and suppressed the contents of BGP and CaBP in the culture medium in a quadratic dose-dependent manner (p<0.05 and p<0.10, respectively) with increasing addition of vitamin A. The addition of 0-$0.2\;{\mu}g$/ml vitamin A to the culture medium increased ALP activity, BGP and CaBP contents as well as CaBP mRNA expression compared with other groups, but positive effects of vitamin A tended to be suppressed when vitamin A was increased to $1.0\;{\mu}g$/ml, and adverse effects occurred when vitamin A was increased to 10.0-$20.0\;{\mu}g$/ml. These results implied that there was a threshold level of vitamin A inclusion beyond which inhibitory effects occurred, and the mechanism by which overdose of vitamin A reduced bone growth in chickens was probably reduced osteoblastic cell activity, and inhibited expression of CaBP mRNA and CaBP secretion.

MECHANICAL PROPERTIES AND OPTIMIZATION ANALYSIS ON BATTERY BOX WITH HONEYCOMB SANDWICH COMPOSITE STRUCTURE

        Ying Zhao,Jinyu Shi,Kaifeng Wang,Binlin Wang,Chao He,Xiaogang Deng 한국자동차공학회 2023 International journal of automotive technology Vol.24 No.1

A honeycomb sandwich battery box composed of high-strength steel outer layer, sandwich aluminum alloy honeycomb and inner layer is proposed. Firstly, the expressions of platform stress, ultimate strain and equivalent elastic modulus of ‘Y’ honeycomb cell are derived based on deformation mechanism and energy principle under quasi-static compression, and then the relations among relative density, unit volume energy absorption and thickness coefficient are acquired. Based on above, the optimal thickness coefficient of honeycomb unit cell can be acquired by utilizing particle swarm optimization algorithm. Simultaneously, aluminum alloy honeycomb sample is made to verify the accuracy of finite element simulation and theoretical models under quasi-static compression. Subsequently, the optimal thicknesses of three layers are optimized with the constraint that the 1st mode frequency is more than 30 Hz. Finally, the mass of the optimized battery box decreases by 37.26 %, and its static performances increase more largely compared with traditional one.
