Under the various clinical circumstances, there is a condition to change source to skin distance(SSD). It is possible to correct photon beam by well-known inverse square law. On the other hand, the electron beam is not exact location of source, that's why it is difficult to apply as it is. In case of electron beam, we should correct the difference of SSD by measure effective SSD . There are many ways to measure effective SSD. In this study, Faiz Khan's method was used. The measurement energy is 6,9,12,16,20 MeV and field size is set standard applicator 6×6, 10×10, 15×15, 20×20, 25x25㎠. From the bottom of the standard applicator to skin distance is set to 5㎝. So we measured dose at the gap to 0∼20㎝. According to a production company of linear accelerator, or even though same production company, the qualities of electron beam can be different. So, effective SSD can be different every several accelerator. Therefore, it is desirable to use the effective SSD measured at every electron beam energy and field size actually.

In this study, i) The overall improving steps for the efficient operation and process control of management information have been suggested. ii) For the application to the real system, the aggregated, simplified processes have been represented in data base system's design and implementation.
Pattern Search 법을 이용한 최적화 접지 설계에 관한 연구

Electric power facilities must have effective grounding to provide means to carry electric current into the earth under fault conditions and to prevent damage of equipment, ignition, and electrocution of presonnel. This paper present an algorithm called the pattern search method for the optimal parameters selection of the grounding system. Computer simulation results used the CDEGS grounding analysis program verifying the effects of the grounding system design parameters obtained from this method show that the grounding systems are adequately designed.
화목피 추출물이 Streptozotocin 으로 유발시킨 흰쥐의 당뇨와 Free Radical 에 미치는 효과

Type I diabetes is caused by destruction of the pancreatic beta cells responsible for insulin-secretion. It can be induced by the drugs alloxan or streptozotocin (STZ). Both an increase in reaction oxygen free radical species and a decrease in the antioxidant defense mechanism lead to the increase in oxidative stress in diabetes mellitus. Oxygen radicals scavengers are effective in preventing diagetes in animal models. Experiments were conducted by two system. The Sprague-Dawley rats were treated with STZ intravenous injection after oral administrated Betula's extract and quercetin for a week, and were administrated them for a week. In vitro, Betula's extracts and quercetin showed a tendency towards inhibition of free radical oxidation in all. In vivo, Betula's extracts group exhibited suppression morphologic change in pancreatic islet compare quercetin group on light microscopy. The Betula's extract significantly inhibited formation of MDA compared to the STZ-induced diabetic group in pancreas.They also significantly inhibited formation of Phosphatidylcholine hydroperoxide(PCOOH) compared to the STZ-induced diabetic group in pancreas and plasma, which considered defense against destruction in beta cells. The protection by Betula's extracts may be due to scavenging of deleterious and highly reactive free radical which is generated by STZ. In streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats, the effect of Betula's extract are greater than that of quercetin. Based on this result, we concluded that Betula's extract has the ability to effectively suppress in vitro and in vivo oxidation, thereby providing additional evidence for their potential beneficial type I diabetes.
