Based on the L2 mental lexicon’s semantic access theory, the dissertation designed a recognition test for six types of Sino-Korean words. In order to investigate the learners’ acquisition effect of the three Sino-Korean words’ forms(the Korean pronunciation, the Korean character, the Chinese character), this dissertation designed a control test which using these forms. The test for early-intermediate learners results data statistics which from SPSS software showed the following: It is easy to acquire Chinese charater, more difficult to learn the Korean charater, while Korean pronunciation is the hardest to learn. The results showed that Chinese learners get used to ignoring the learning of Sino-Korean words’ Korean pronounciation form and tend to acquire Sino-Korean words’ meaning by Korean character form and Chinese character form.
VLBI NETWORK SIMULATOR: AN INTEGRATED SIMULATION TOOL FOR RADIO ASTRONOMERS

In this paper we introduce a software package, the Very long baseline interferometry Network SIMulator (VNSIM), which provides an integrated platform assisting radio astronomers to design Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) experiments and evaluate the network performance, with a user-friendly interface. Though VNSIM is primarily motivated by the East Asia VLBI Network, it can also be used for other VLBI networks and generic interferometers. The software package not only integrates the functionality of plotting (u; v) coverage, scheduling the observation, and displaying the dirty and CLEAN images, but also adds new features including sensitivity calculations for a given VLBI network. VNSIM provides flexible interactions on both command line and graphical user interface and offers friendly support for log reports and database management. Multi-processing acceleration is also supported, enabling users to handle large survey data. To facilitate future developments and updates, all simulation functions are encapsulated in separate Python modules, allowing independent invoking and testing. In order to verify the performance of VNSIM, we performed simulations and compared the results with other simulation tools, showing good agreement.

FeWx/Ce0.68Zr0.32O2 (x = 0, 0.35, 0.7, 1.03, 1.38) catalysts with different molar ratios (x) of W/Fe wereprepared for NH3-SCR. The experimental results showed that catalytic performances of catalysts wereobviously improved by adjusting the molar ratio of W/Fe. FeW1.03/Ce0.68Zr0.32O2 catalyst with W/Fe of1.03 displayed the best catalytic performance, it could obtain higher than 95% NOx conversion and nearly100% N2 selectivity in the temperature range of 250–435 8C. The characterization results indicated thatmore active species of Fe3+, chemical adsorbed oxygen species and surface acid sites would togethercontribute to the excellent NH3-SCR performance of FeW1.03/Ce0.68Zr0.32O2 catalyst.
LEFSCHETZ FIXED POINT THEORY FOR COMPACT ABSORBING CONTRACTIVE ADMISSIBLE MAPS

New Lefschetz fixed point theorems for compact absorbing contractive admissible maps between Fréchet spaces are presented. Also we present new results for condensing maps with a compact attractor. The proof relies on fixed point theory in Banach spaces and viewing a Fréchet space as the projective limit of a sequence of Banach spaces.

<P>Monsoon rainfall and tropical storms (TSs) impose great impacts on society, yet their seasonal predictions are far from successful. The western Pacific Subtropical High (WPSH) is a prime circulation system affecting East Asian summer monsoon (EASM) and western North Pacific TS activities, but the sources of its variability and predictability have not been established. Here we show that the WPSH variation faithfully represents fluctuations of EASM strength (r = -0.92), the total TS days over the subtropical western North Pacific (r = -0.81), and the total number of TSs impacting East Asian coasts (r = -0.76) during 1979-2009. Our numerical experiment results establish that the WPSH variation is primarily controlled by central Pacific cooling/warming and a positive atmosphere-ocean feedback between the WPSH and the Indo-Pacific warm pool oceans. With a physically based empirical model and the state-of-the-art dynamical models, we demonstrate that the WPSH is highly predictable; this predictability creates a promising way for prediction of monsoon and TS. The predictions using the WPSH predictability not only yields substantially improved skills in prediction of the EASM rainfall, but also enables skillful prediction of the TS activities that the current dynamical models fail. Our findings reveal that positive WPSH-ocean interaction can provide a source of climate predictability and highlight the importance of subtropical dynamics in understanding monsoon and TS predictability.</P>
