Electrochemical discharge machining is a very recent technique for non-conducting materials such as ceramics and glasses, ECDM is conducted in the NaOH solution and the cathode electrode is separated from the solution by H₂ gas bubble. Then the discharge is appeared and the non-conductive material is removed by spark and some chemical reactions. In the ECDM technology, the H₂ bubble control is the most important factor to stabilize the discharging condition. In this paper, we proposed the discharge peak monitoring/ discharging duty feedback algorithms for the discharge stabilization and the feasibility of this algorithm is verified by various pattern machining in the constant preload conditions for the cathode electrode..

Electrochemical discharge machining is a very recent technique for non-conducting materials such as ceramics and glasses. In the ECDM technology, the H$_2$ bubble control is the most important factor to stabilize the discharging condition. In this paper we proposed the discharge peak monitoring/discharging duty feedback algorithms fur the discharge stabilization and the feasibility of this algorithm is verified by various pattern machining in the constant preload conditions for the cathode electrode.
Effect of Plasma Treatment on the Wood Flour for Wood Flour/PP Composites
Kim, Byung-Sun,Chun, Bae-Hyeock,Woo Il Lee,,Hwang, Byung-Sun SAGE Publications 2009 Journal of thermoplastic composite materials Vol.22 No.1
<P>Contact angles of various monomers are measured by goniometer to calculate surface energies in order to select the monomer with highest surface energy. The highest surface energy is obtained with hexamethyl-disiloxane and is used in plasma coating the wood flour to improve its bonding and dispersion with the polypropylene (PP). The mechanical test results and SEM inspections indicate the good dispersion and the good compatibility between the wood flour and the PP. Also, this method is considered as a nontoxic process as compared to other chemical bonding method.</P>

Recent trends in modern warfare are increasing in importance for air warfare, information warfare, and warfare. The technology of the weapon system software is rapidly developing, and the silent information war to hack it is still going on. Currently, the FA-50 aircraft has a function that can be initialized by a simple switch operation to protect the main military information in the event of an emergency. However, there are limitations in the existing Zeroize function, and this study was carried out to supplement this. First, we compare and analyze the memory structure of aircraft operating in our military, and examined the currently implemented Zeroize function. Second, we reviewed various methods to overcome the limitation of existing Zeroize function. Third, we implement the existing Zeroize function without additional manipulation. In this paper, we propose that the implementation of this feature will enable us to protect our military data more securely and suggest that we should continue to look for ways to enhance security for our technology in the future.

NOx reduction by a plasma/catalyst system was tested with modeled gas and diesel exhaust gas. Ag/Al₂O₃was used as the catalyst. The oxidation of NO to N0₂by the plasma was increased as HC concentration and input energy density increased. The presence of H₂O in the reactant gas led to the production of acid by plasma. The catalytic activity for NOx reduction was enhanced by the assistance of plasma especially in the lower temperature region. The NOx conversion to N₂ was evaluated by a gas chromatography in the model gas with helium as the balance gas. The result in helium balance gas showed that the selectivity to N₂ depended on the catalyst temperature and was also enhanced by the assistance of plasma. The 50% of NOx removal from the diesel exhaust gas was achieved by the plasma/catalyst system. A kinetic simulation model was also developed to characterize the plasma chemistry in modeled gas. The model uses ELENDIF program to solve Boltzmann equation for electron energy distribution function, and CHEMKIN-II program to solve stiff ODE(ordinary differential equation) problems for species concentrations. The corona discharge energy per voltage pulse and the time-space averaged EIN were obtained by fitting the model to experimental data. The model calculation shows good agreement for NO and N0₂ concentrations with the experimental data, and predicts the formation of byproducts such as CH₂O, CH₃HCO, CO and CH₃N0₂.

To identify the venom components and their expression patterns of some Aculeata bees/wasps, venom gland-specific transcriptome analysis was conducted. FPKM values were normalized with the average of the transcription level of reference gene (a-tubulin). Common components in both solitary and social wasp venoms include hyaluronidase, phospholipase A2, metalloendopeptidase, etc. Although it has been expected that more diverse bioactive components with the functions of prey inactivation and physiology manipulation are present in solitary wasps, the information on venom compositions of solitary wasps obtained in this study was not sufficient to generalizae this notion. Nevertheless, some neurotoxic peptides (e.g., pompilidotoxin and dendrotoxin-like peptide) and proteins (e.g., insuline-like peptide binding protein) appear to be specific to solitary wasp venom. In contrast, several proteins, such as venom allergen 5 protein, venom acid phosphatase, and various phospholipases, appear to be relatively more abundant in social wasp venom. In the venom gland trancsriptome of bumblebees, major allergens or pain producing factors were barely identified, implying that bumblebee venoms are relatively less toxic than those of social or solitary wasps.
