<P>We present the measurement of the absolute branching fractions of B+ -> Xc (c) over barK+ and B+ -> (D) over bar ((*)0)pi(+) decays, using a data sample of 772 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collected at the gamma(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. Here, X-c (c) over bar denotes eta(c), J/psi, chi(c0), chi(c1), eta(c) (2S), psi(2S), psi(3770), X(3872), and X(3915). We do not observe significant signals for X(3872) or X(3915) and set the 90% confidence level upper limits at B(B+ -> X(3872)K+) < 2.6 x 10(-4) and B(B+ -> X(3915)K+) < 2.8 x 10(-4). These represent the most stringent upper limit for B(B+ -> X(3872)K+) to date and the first limit for B(B+ -> X(3915)K+). The measured branching fractions for eta(c) and eta(c)(2S) are the most precise to date, B(B+ -> eta K-c(+)) = (12.0 +/- 0.8 +/- 0.7) x 10(-4) and B(B+ -> eta(c)(2S)K+) = (4.8 +/- 1.1 +/- 0.3) x 10(-4), where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively.</P>

The effect of replacement of in vitro maturation medium completely with the buffalo follicular fluid (buFF) on in vitro oocyte maturation of buffalo oocytes was studied. 5 to 8 buffalo cumulus oocyte complexes were cultured in a single drop with each of the eight media studied i.e., M199+steer serum (10% v/v), M199+steer serum (10% v/v)+PMSG, M199+buFF (10% v/v), M199+buFF (10% v/v)+PMSG, M199+buFF (50% v/v), M199+buFF (50% v/v)+ PMSG, buFF (100%) and buFF+PMSG at $39^{\circ}C$ and 5% $CO_2$ in air for 24 h. Supplementation of M199 with Steer serum alone resulted in IVM rate of 35% only. When the above medium was supplemented with PMSG, the maturation rate rallied to 82%. Significant increase in the maturation rates were observed when M199 was supplemented with increasing levels of buFF. A further increase in the maturation rate was also obtained when PMSG was incorporated into the medium of M199 supplemented with buFF. The rate of maturation was to the tune of 91% when oocytes were matured in buFF alone which was increased non significantly on the addition of PMSG. Highest maturation rate (97%) obtained with M199+buFF (50%v/v)+PMSG did not differ significantly from that obtained by either M199+buFF (10%v/v)+PMSG or buFF+PMSG. It is suggested that buFF alone without any supplementation can form the effective in vitro maturation medium for buffalo oocytes.

<P>Various amounts of Nb2O5 in the (Na0.5K0.5) NbO3 (NKN) ceramic were replaced by V2O5 to decrease its sintering temperature to below 950°C. A small V2O5 content resulted in a dense microstructure with an increased grain size for the specimen sintered at 900°C due to the presence of a liquid phase. When V2O5 was added to the NKN ceramics, their orthorhombic-to-tetragonal transition temperature increased from 178°C to around 200°C. However, their Curie temperature decreased from 402°C to around 330°C. The kp, ε3 T/ε0, and Qm values increased with V2O5 addition, probably due to the increased density and poling state, which was identified by the phase angle. The specimen with x = 0.05, sintered at 900°C for 8 h, exhibited the following piezoelectric properties: kp = 0.32, ε3 T/ε0 = 245, d33 = 120 (pC/N), and Qm = 232.</P>

Ti–6Al–4V/B4C surface composite, having uniform dispersion of reinforcement, was successfully fabricated via additive friction stir processing (AFSP) technique. The chemical reaction between B4C particles and Ti matrix resulted in the formationof intermetallics like TiBX and TiC. Optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, electron backscattered difractionand X-ray difraction were carried out to investigate the infuence of FSP, B4C reinforcement and post-FSP heat treatment onmicrostructure evolution. Microhardness, Charpy impact and pin on disc wear tests were performed to examine mechanicaland wear properties. Fully β transformed microstructure composed of basket-weave lamellar α/β together with the needle-likeultrafne martensite α′ was observed in FSPed stir zone. B4C particles brought about additional microstructure refnementby pinning prior β grain boundaries (Zener pinning) and enhancing the nucleation rate (particle stimulated nucleation). Surface composites fabricated via AFSP exhibited higher hardness, wear-resistance and impact toughness compared to thebase metal Ti–6Al–4V and FSPed Ti–6Al–4V.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Benzodiazepines and their derivatives are a very important class of nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds with biological activity that are widely used in medicine. In this study, we demonstrated synthesis of 1,5-benzodiazepines from 1,2-phenylenediamine and ketones (acetone, cyclohexanone, acetophenone, methyl ethyl ketone) in the presence of isostructural porous metal-benzenetricarboxylates of the families MIL-100(M) (M: V3+, Al3+, Fe3+ and Cr3+) and three porous aluminium trimesates Al-BTCs (MIL-96(Al), MIL-100(Al) and MIL-110(Al)). A combination of catalytic, theoretical and physicochemical methods showed that reaction rates and yields of 1,5-benzodiazepines were adjusted by the type of metal ions and accessibility of active sites. The yield of 1,5-benzodiazepines in the presence of MIL-100(M) was comparable with zeolites, such as HY, H-ZSM−5, β-zeolite and heulandite.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Synthesis of 1,5-benzodiazepines over MIL-100(M), MIL-110 and MIL-96 was studied. </LI> <LI> Effect of Brønsted and Lewis acidity on MIL’s performance was investigated. </LI> <LI> Lewis acidity of MIL-100(Fe, Cr, Al, V) was studied by EPR spectroscopy. </LI> <LI> The type of M3+(Al, Fe, Cr, V) and structure of MILs affect the yield of product. </LI> <LI> MIL-100(M) samples perform well in compared with zeolites. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

Abazov, V. M.,Abbott, B.,Acharya, B. S.,Adams, M.,Adams, T.,Agnew, J. P.,Alexeev, G. D.,Alkhazov, G.,Alton, A.,Askew, A.,Atkins, S.,Augsten, K.,Aushev, V.,Aushev, Y.,Avila, C.,Badaud, F.,Bagby, L.,Bal American Physical Society 2016 Physical Review D Vol.94 No.1
<P>The lifetime of the B-s(0) meson is measured in the decay channel B-s(0) -> J/Psi pi(+)pi(-) with 880 <= M pi+pi- <= 1080 MeV/c(2), which is mainly a CP-odd state and dominated by the f(0)(980) resonance. In 10.4 fb(-1) of data collected with the D0 detector in Run II of the Tevatron, the lifetime of the B-s(0) meson is measured to be tau(B-s(0)) = 1.70 +/- 0.14(stat) +/- 0.05(syst) ps. Neglecting CP violation in B-s(0)/(B) over bar (0)(s) mixing, the measurement can be translated into the width of the heavy mass eigenstate of the B-s(0), Gamma(H) = 0.59 +/- 0.05(stat) +/- 0.02(syst) ps(-1).</P>

Grygier, J.,Goldenzweig, P.,Heck, M.,Adachi, I.,Aihara, H.,Al Said, S.,Asner, D. M.,Aushev, T.,Ayad, R.,Aziz, T.,Babu, V.,Badhrees, I.,Bahinipati, S.,Bakich, A. M.,Bansal, V.,Barberio, E.,Behera, P.,B American Physical Society 2017 Physical Review D Vol.96 No.9
<P>We present the results of a search for the rare decays B -> h nu(nu) over bar, where h stands for K+, K-S(0), K*(+); K*(0); pi(+); pi(0), rho(+) and rho(0). The results are obtained with 772 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) collider. We reconstruct one B meson in a semileptonic decay and require a single h meson but nothing else on the signal side. We observe no significant signal and set upper limits on the branching fractions. The limits set on the B-0 -> K-S(0)nu(nu) over bar, B-0 -> K*(0)nu(nu) over bar, B+ -> pi(+)nu(nu) over bar, B-0 -> pi(0)nu(nu) over bar, B+ -> rho(+)nu(nu) over bar, and B-0 -> rho(0)nu(nu) over bar channels are the world's most stringent.</P>

<P>We report the first measurement of the fraction of J/psi mesons coming from B-meson decay (F (B -> J/psi)) in p + p collisions at root s = 510 GeV. The measurement is performed using the forward silicon vertex detector and central vertex detector at PHENIX, which provide precise tracking and distance-of-closest-approach determinations, enabling the statistical separation of J=. due to B-meson decays from prompt J/psi. The measured value of F (B -> J/psi) is 8.1% +/- 2.3% (stat) +/- 1.9% (syst) for J/psi with transverse momenta 0 < p(T) < 5 GeV/c and rapidity 1.2 < vertical bar y vertical bar < 2.2. The measured fraction F (B -> J/psi) at PHENIX is compared to values measured by other experiments at higher center of mass energies and to fixed-order-next-toleading- logarithm and color-evaporation-model predictions. The b (b) over bar cross section per unit rapidity [d sigma/dy(pp -> b (b) over bar)] extracted from the obtained F (B -> J/psi) and the PHENIX inclusive J/psi cross section measured at 200 GeV scaled with color-evaporation-model calculations, at the mean B hadron rapidity y = +/- 1.7 in 510 GeV p + p collisions, is 3.63(-1.70)(+1.92) mu b. It is consistent with the fixed-order-next-toleading- logarithm calculations.</P>

<P>We report a measurement of the ratio R(D*) = B((B) over bar (0) -> D*(+)tau(-)(nu) over bar (tau))/B((B) over bar (0) -> D*(+)l(-)(nu) over bar (l))where l denotes an electron or a muon. The results are based on a data sample containing 772 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs recorded at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) collider. We select a sample of B-0(B) over bar (0) pairs by reconstructing both B mesons in semileptonic decays to D*(-/+)l(+/-). We measure R(D*) = 0.302 +/- 0.030(stat) +/- 0.011(syst), which is within 1.6 sigma of the Standard Model theoretical expectation, where the standard deviation sigma includes systematic uncertainties. We use this measurement to constrain several scenarios of new physics in a model-independent approach.</P>

Urquijo, P.,Barberio, E.,Adachi, I.,Aihara, H.,Arinstein, K.,Bakich, A. M.,Belous, K.,Bhardwaj, V.,Bischofberger, M.,Bozek, A.,Brač,ko, M.,Browder, T. E.,Chao, Y.,Chen, A.,Cheon, B. G.,Chistov, R American Physical Society 2010 Physical review letters Vol.104 No.2
<P>We present the partial branching fraction for inclusive charmless semileptonic B decays and the corresponding value of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element vertical bar V-ub vertical bar, using a multivariate analysis method to access similar to 90% of the B -> X(u)l nu phase space. This approach dramatically reduces the theoretical uncertainties from the b-quark mass and nonperturbative QCD compared to all previous inclusive measurements. The results are based on a sample of 657 X 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collected with the Belle detector. We find that Delta B(B -> X(u)l nu; p(l)*(B) > 1.0 GeV/c) = 1.963X(1 +/- 0.088(stat) +/- 0.081(syst)) X 10(-3). Corresponding values of vertical bar V-ub vertical bar are extracted using several theoretical calculations.</P>
