Decision Making Method to Select Team Members Applying Personnel Behavior Based Lean Model
Aviles-Gonzalez, Jonnatan,Smith, Neale R.,Sawhney, Rupy Korean Institute of Industrial Engineers 2016 Industrial Engineeering & Management Systems Vol.15 No.3
Design of personnel teams has been studied from diverse perspectives; the most common are the people and systems requirements perspectives. All these point of view are linked, which is the reason why it is necessary to study them simultaneously. Considering this gap, a decision making model is developed based on factors, models, and requirements mentioned in the literature. The model is applied to a real case. The findings indicate that the Personnel Behavior Based Lean model (PBBL) can be converted into a decision making model for the selection of team members. The study is focused not only on the individual candidates' knowledge, skills, and aptitudes, but also on how the model considers the company requirements, conflicts, and the importance of each person to the project.

Somatic embryo-like structures were produced from the hypocotyls of aseptic plants of Capsicum chinense. Different concentrations of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (0, 4.5, $9.05{\mu}M$), several exposure times of the explant to this auxin (15, 30, 45, 60 days) and the development of somatic embryos cultured in a solid and/or liquid medium were evaluated. As a result, a novel system of regeneration via direct somatic embryogenesis in liquid medium was established, with an efficiency of $1.77{\times}10^4$ somatic embryos per liter of medium. Critical stages of embryogenesis, including cellular acquisition of morphogenetic competence, suspensor formation, and development and maturation of somatic embryos, were identified by histological analysis and scanning electron microscopy. Our results show a promising new outlook on the in vitro regeneration of this species. Contrary to what has been reported to date for the Capsicum genus, it is a species of plants with higher embryogenic potential in vitro.

Participación Electoral en la Crisis de la Representación en Chile
Axel Callis Rodriguez,Oriana Aviles Moraga 한국라틴아메리카학회 2021 라틴아메리카연구 Vol.34 No.2
With the arrival of voluntary voting in Chile during 2012, a phenomenon of selectivity in participation by voter segments began to take place. On the one hand, a stable group of people who vote in each election comprising approximately 70% of total voters became consolidated; on the other hand, a new group of voters emerged that are mobilized by specific candidacies, a phenomenon that worsened after the presidential elections of 2017. However, after the milestone of the 2019 protests in Chile and the subsequently greater focus on inequality and social injustice which came on to the agenda, a group of young people who tend to vote for more left-wing alternatives emerged. Simultaneously, due to the pandemic, voters over 65 years of age abstained from participating in the electoral events that give shape to the current political cycle. We are therefore experiencing a change not only in the type of voters, but also in the directionality of their preferences. After the presidential election of November 2021, we will know if the political orientation of young voters stabilizes, or if the older, more moderate voters return, currently giving an uncertain picture of presidential results. These behaviors are not only understood in the context of great social unrest but are also explained by the decline in participation of older voters as a direct effect of the COVID-19 pandemic.
MC21/CTF and VERA multiphysics solutions to VERA core physics benchmark progression problems 6 and 7
Daniel J. Kelly III,Ann E. Kelly,Brian N. Aviles,Andrew T. Godfrey,Robert K. Salko,Benjamin S. Collins 한국원자력학회 2017 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.49 No.6
The continuous energy Monte Carlo neutron transport code, MC21, was coupled to the CTF subchannelthermal-hydraulics code using a combination of Consortium for Advanced Simulation of Light WaterReactors (CASL) tools and in-house Python scripts. An MC21/CTF solution for VERA Core PhysicsBenchmark Progression Problem 6 demonstrated good agreement with MC21/COBRA-IE and VERA solutions. The MC21/CTF solution for VERA Core Physics Benchmark Progression Problem 7, Watts Bar Unit1 at beginning of cycle hot full power equilibrium xenon conditions, is the first published coupled MonteCarlo neutronics/subchannel T-H solution for this problem. MC21/CTF predicted a critical boron concentrationof 854.5 ppm, yielding a critical eigenvalue of 0.99994 ± 6.8E-6 (95% confidence interval). Excellent agreement with a VERA solution of Problem 7 was also demonstrated for integral and localpower and temperature parameters.
