To help the industry, outsourcing was found to be the most efficient method. An extensive literature analysis was done to assess the macroeconomic factors associated with outsourcing to supplement the anxious parties’ decision-making process with evidence-based comprehensive tools. As a theoretical framework for evaluating these issues, transaction cost economies and resource-based perspective theories are investigated. Outsourcing is proven to be a result of energy crises and political instability. The advantages of outsourcing assist major industries in the economy. To discover the key drivers behind outsourcing, we used the vector autoregressive (VAR model) and step-wise regression techniques for the period 1992 to 2016. This research adds to the literature in that it not only explains the energy issue but also discusses the dilemma of political instability in the country in the context of outsourcing. The findings indicate that labor cost and export tendency have a positive impact on outsourcing strategy, which confirms the study’s third and fourth hypotheses. Customs tax, inflation, and the unemployment rate, on the other hand, have a negative impact on textile outsourcing in Pakistan, according to the study’s fifth, sixth, and seventh hypotheses.
Leader-Following Formation Control of Nonholonomic Robots with Switching Network Topologies
Arslan Safdar,Muwahida Liaquat,Waqar Ali,Faiza Nawaz 제어로봇시스템학회 2017 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2017 No.10
This paper investigates cooperative output regulation for the leader-following formation problem of multirobot system. For leader-following formation (LFF) problem a distributed design approach is proposed using luenberger observer and distributed observer. The designed approach enables the robots to track the reference signal generated by the leader and also to achieve and maintain the desired formation for any initial condition. The considered exogenous system serves as a leader for the multi-robot formation and provides a driving forces for the robot formation. The dynamics of the exogenous system are different among the robots. In view of time varying interaction between robots, one case of fixed network topology and two cases of switching network topologies are considered to describe the multirobot network relationship. The theoretical results are verified through numerical simulations of four nonholonomic robots. The simulation highlights that the robots are maintaining their formation and also tracking the trajectory of the leader robot under fixed and switching topologies of the network.
MERIDIAN SURFACES IN 4 WITH POINTWISE 1-TYPE GAUSS MAP
Arslan, Kadri,Bulca, Betul,Milousheva, Velichka Korean Mathematical Society 2014 대한수학회보 Vol.51 No.3
In the present article we study a special class of surfaces in the four-dimensional Euclidean space, which are one-parameter systems of meridians of the standard rotational hypersurface. They are called meridian surfaces. We show that a meridian surface has a harmonic Gauss map if and only if it is part of a plane. Further, we give necessary and sufficient conditions for a meridian surface to have pointwise 1-type Gauss map and find all meridian surfaces with pointwise 1-type Gauss map.
Grafting of poly(3-hydroxyalkanoate) and linoleic acid onto chitosan
Arslan, Hü,lya,Hazer, Baki,Yoon, Sung C. Wiley Subscription Services, Inc., A Wiley Company 2007 Journal of applied polymer science Vol.103 No.1
<P>Poly(3-hydroxy octanoate) (PHO), poly(3-hydroxy butyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV), and linoleic acid were grafted onto chitosan via condensation reactions between carboxylic acids and amine groups. Unreacted PHAs and linoleic acid were eliminated via chloroform extraction and for elimination of unreacted chitosan were used 2 wt % of HOAc solution. The pure chitosan graft copolymers were isolated and then characterized by FTIR, 13C-NMR (in solid state), DSC, and TGA. Microbial polyester percentage grafted onto chitosan backbone was varying from 7 to 52 wt % as a function of molecular weight of PHAs, namely as a function of steric effect. Solubility tests were also performed. Graft copolymers were soluble, partially soluble or insoluble in 2 wt % of HOAc depending on the amount of free primary amine groups on chitosan backbone or degree of grafting percent. Thermal analysis of PHO-g-Chitosan graft copolymers indicated that the plastizer effect of PHO by means that they showed melting transitions Tms at 80, 100, and 113°C or a broad Tms between 60.5–124.5°C and 75–125°C while pure chitosan showed a sharp Tm at 123°C. In comparison of the solubility and thermal properties of graft copolymers, linoleic acid derivatives of chitosan were used. Thus, the grafting of poly(3-hydroxyalkanoate) and linoleic acid onto chitosan decrease the thermal stability of chitosan backbone. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci 103:81–89, 2007</P>
CONTACT CR-WARPED PRODUCT SUBMANIFOLDS IN KENMOTSU SPACE FORMS
ARSLAN, KADRI,EZENTAS, RIDVAN,MIHAl, ION,MURATHAN, CENGIZHAN Korean Mathematical Society 2005 대한수학회지 Vol.42 No.5
Recently, Chen studied warped products which are CR-submanifolds in Kaehler manifolds and established general sharp inequalities for CR-warped products in Kaehler manifolds. In the present paper, we obtain sharp estimates for the squared norm of the second fundamental form (an extrinsic invariant) in terms of the warping function for contact CR-warped products isometrically immersed in Kenmotsu space forms. The equality case is considered. Some applications are derived.
An Energy Efficient Charging Technique for Switched Capacitor Voltage Converters With Low-Duty Ratio
Arslan, Saad,Shah, Syed Asmat Ali,Lee, Jae-Jin,Kim, Hyungwon IEEE 2018 IEEE transactions on circuits and systems. a publi Vol.65 No.6
<P>Charging a capacitor array of a switched-capacitor (SC) dc-dc converter, supplying load circuits with a very short active period, can be pivotal to achieve high energy efficiency of its operation. This is because the capacitors may lose most of the stored energy during a long sleep period, and thus every sleep-to-active transition requires full recharging of the capacitors. In this brief, we present an energy efficient capacitor charging technique called split-capacitor charging, which charges a capacitor array in a step-wise fashion. Circuit simulations demonstrate that the proposed technique can reduce the energy wastage during sleep-to-active transition up to 66%. When tested on load circuits with a short active period, a voltage converter employing the proposed charging method shows up to 24% improvement in energy efficiency over conventional SC converters.</P>
ON GENERALIZED ROTATIONAL SURFACES IN EUCLIDEAN SPACES
Arslan, Kadri,Bulca, Betul,Kosova, Didem Korean Mathematical Society 2017 대한수학회지 Vol.54 No.3
In the present study we consider the generalized rotational surfaces in Euclidean spaces. Firstly, we consider generalized tractrices in Euclidean (n + 1)-space $\mathbb{E}^{n+1}$. Further, we introduce some kind of generalized rotational surfaces in Euclidean spaces $\mathbb{E}^3$ and $\mathbb{E}^4$, respectively. We have also obtained some basic properties of generalized rotational surfaces in $\mathbb{E}^4$ and some results of their curvatures. Finally, we give some examples of generalized Beltrami surfaces in $\mathbb{E}^3$ and $\mathbb{E}^4$, respectively.
