Macarena GROSS ARIZA,Reyes ABAD FLORES,Maria F. Carrascal Perez CARRA 서울대학교 환경대학원 2020 環境論叢 Vol.66 No.-
Spread throughout the city, the “corralas” are essential pieces of Sevilla’s urban fabric (Spain). These spaces that were particularly shaped for an affordable co-life and craftwork activities have become a referent for contemporary creative communities, which have not just appropriated them but have emulated them. In obsolete industrial spaces, these social groups recreate this traditional way of life around a courtyard: the key element of vernacular residential architecture in this region. Corrala’s project of colife has allowed current creative workers to live and develop their practices, while, in a reciprocal process, they have become protectors of its meaning and mixed forms, an ethnological heritage in danger. This research focuses on the specific case of “El Pelícano”, a former cork factory inaugurated in the decade of the 1920’s, and its suitability for transformation into a contemporary creative venue assuming the corrala concept. The analysis is based on crossed methodologies: direct observation, interviews to the creators, participation in collective meals and other activities. A photo-shoot of El Pelícano by artist Macarena Gross presents its atmosphere and its phenomenological values in an attempt to reclaim the place of the creative corrala in the memory of this city.
Management of Low-Risk Papillary Thyroid Cancer
Nicole M. Iñiguez-Ariza,Juan P. Brito 대한내분비학회 2018 Endocrinology and metabolism Vol.33 No.2
The incidence of thyroid cancer has increased, mainly due to the incidental finding of low-risk papillary thyroid cancers (PTC). These malignancies grow slowly, and are unlikely to cause morbidity and mortality. New understanding about the prognosis of tumor features has led to reclassification of many tumors within the low-risk thyroid category, and to the development of a new one “very low-risk tumors.” Alternative less aggressive approaches to therapy are now available including active surveillance and minimally invasive interventions. In this narrative review, we have summarized the available evidence for the management of low-risk PTC.
Design and Validation of a Computer Application for Diagnosis of Shoulder Locomotor System Pathology
Albert Bigorda-Sague,Javier Trujillano Cabello,Gemma Ariza Carrio,Carmen Campoy Guerrero 대한의료정보학회 2019 Healthcare Informatics Research Vol.25 No.2
Methods: The first phase involved the construction of the application using the Delphi method. In the second phase, the application was validated with a sample of 250 patients with shoulder pathology. Validity was measured for each diagnostic group using sensitivity, specificity, and positive and negative likelihood ratio (LR(+) and LR(–)). The correct classification ratio (CCR) for each patient and the factors related to worse classification were calculated using multivariate binary logistic regression (odds ratio, 95% confidence interval). Results: The mean time to complete the application was 15 ± 7 minutes. The validity values were the following: LR(+) 7.8 and LR(–) 0.1 for cervical radiculopathy, LR(+) 4.1 and LR(–) 0.4 for glenohumeral arthrosis, LR(+) 15.5 and LR(–) 0.2 for glenohumeral instability, LR(+) 17.2 and LR(–) 0.2 for massive rotator cuff tear, LR(+) 6.2 and LR(–) 0.2 for capsular syndrome, LR(+) 4.0 and LR(–) 0.3 for subacromial impingement/rotator cuff tendinopathy, and LR(+) 2.5 and LR(–) 0.6 for acromioclavicular arthropathy. A total of 70% of the patients had a CCR greater than 85%. Factors that negatively affected accuracy were massive rotator cuff tear, acromioclavicular arthropathy, age over 55 years, and high pain intensity (p < 0.05). Conclusions: The developed application achieved an acceptable validity for most pathologies. Because the tool had a limited capacity to identify the full clinical picture in the same patient, improvements and new studies applied to other groups of patients are required.
Malignant Glomus Tumor of the Peritoneum: Case Report
Sandra Baleato-González,Roberto García-Figueiras,Maria Virginia Trujillo-Ariza,Juan Jose Carrera-Álvarez 대한영상의학회 2014 Korean Journal of Radiology Vol.15 No.1
Glomus tumors are usually benign tumors that occur in the skin and soft tissues of the extremities. Visceral locations, such as stomach, intestines or lung, are extremely rare because glomus bodies are rare or absent in these organs. This report describes our experience in a 47-year-old woman diagnosed with a peritoneal malignant glomus tumor. This finding has not been previously reported.
Dye-Perfused Human Placenta for Simulation in a Microsurgery Laboratory for Plastic Surgeons
Zambrano-Jerez Laura C.,Díaz-Santamaría Karen D.,Rodríguez-Santos María A.,Alarcón-Ariza Diego F.,Meléndez-Flórez Genny L.,Ramírez-Blanco Mónica A. 대한성형외과학회 2023 Archives of Plastic Surgery Vol.50 No.6
In recent decades, a number of simulation models for microsurgical training have been published. The human placenta has received extensive validation in microneurosurgery and is a useful instrument to facilitate learning in microvascular repair techniques as an alternative to using live animals. This study uses a straightforward, step-by-step procedure for instructing the creation of simulators with dynamic flow to characterize the placental vascular tree and assess its relevance for plastic surgery departments. Measurements of the placental vasculature and morphological characterization of 18 placentas were made. After the model was used in a basic microsurgery training laboratory session, a survey was given to nine plastic surgery residents, two microsurgeons, and one hand surgeon. In all divisions, venous diameters were larger than arterial diameters, with minimum diameters of 0.8 and 0.6 mm, respectively. The majority of the participants considered that the model faithfully reproduces a real microsurgical scenario; the consistency of the vessels and their dissection are similar in in vivo tissue. Furthermore, all the participants considered that this model could improve their surgical technique and would propose it for microsurgical training. As some of the model's disadvantages, an abundantly thick adventitia, a thin tunica media, and higher adherence to the underlying tissue were identified. The color-perfused placenta is an excellent tool for microsurgical training in plastic surgery. It can faithfully reproduce a microsurgical scenario, offering an abundance of vasculature with varying sizes similar to tissue in vivo, enhancing technical proficiency, and lowering patient error.
Restoration and conservation of anatomic pieces

In this study, a restoration process was developed with potassium hydroxide (KOH), in order to improve each of the structures for their posterior fixation, through the use of new methods such as the Chilean conservative fixative solution (SFCCh), with exceptional results. Restore anatomical pieces corresponding to corpse and organs, being these last set with the SFCCh. In this work dealt with processes of restoration with potassium hydroxide, sodium chloride, and sodium hypochlorite, the process began with the cleanliness and suture of the structures for subsequent fixing in Chilean conservative fixative solution, making use of a corpse and different anatomical parts. Work based on items found in the database, Elsevier, Science Direct, ProQuest, and MEDLINE. At the end of the process of restoration and conservation of the anatomical pieces, was observed an improvement in muscle pigment with decrease of rigidity in the specimen, additionally a recovery of appearance in the vascular-nervous elements was achieved. The organs were much more malleable and the structures facilitate the identification of specific details, its subsequent immersion in SFCCh allows the longer preservation of the obtained results. The restoration with potassium hydroxide allows the improvement in the appearance of the different anatomical structures and simultaneously to facilitate its study. The SFCCh is an alternative that replaces partially the use of formaldehyde. In addition, it presents toxicity reduction.

Background: The co-transformation of solid waste of natural and anthropogenic origin can be carried out through solid-state-fermentation systems to obtain bio-products with higher added value and lower environmental impact. Methods: To evaluate the effect of Pleurotus ostreatus on co-transformation of oxo-degradable low-density polyethylene (LDPEoxo) sheets and lignocellulosic biomass (LCB), were assembled two 0.75 L microcosm systems in vertical (VMS) and horizontal (HMS) position. The pre-treated sheets with luminescent O2 plasma discharges were mixed with pine bark, hydrolyzed brewer’s yeast and paper napkin fragments and incubated for 135 days at 20 ± 1.0 °C in the presence of the fungus. With the co-transformation residues, biochar (BC) was produced at 300 ± 1.0 °C (BC300) for 1 h, then used to carry out adsorption studies, using the malachite green dye (MG) at pH 4.0, 7.0 and 9.0 ± 0.2. Finally, the biochar was the substrate for the germination of carnation seeds (Dianthus caryophyllus) and Ray-grass (Lolium sp.) in vitro. Results: For HMS, the decrease in static contact angle (SCA) was 63.63% (p = 0.00824) and for VMS 74.45% (p =0.00219), concerning the pristine. Plastic roughness in VMS was higher (26%) concerning the control. Throughout the 135 days, there were fungal growth and consequently laccase (Lac), manganese peroxidase (MnP) and lignin peroxidase (LiP) activities. During the first 75 days, CO2 production increased to 4.78 ± 0.01 and 4.98 ± 0.01 mg g-1 for HMS and VMS, respectively. In MG adsorption studies, the highest amount of the colourant adsorbed at both pH 4.0 and 7.0 ± 0.2. Conclusions: Finally, the biochar or the biochar enriched with low concentrations of plant growth-promoting microorganisms and inorganic fertilizer favours the germination of Dianthus caryophyllus and Lolium sp., seeds.
