      • Target Seg : A GUI for Image Segmentation using Morphogical Watershed and Graph cut Techniques

Anuradha.S.G,K.Karibasappa,B.Eswar Reddy 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Signal Processing, Image Vol.9 No.3

The aim of this paper is to develop an efficient and a powerful Matlab based graphical user interface to address the problem of image segmentation. We propose two approaches for segmenting images: An automatic marker controlled watershed segmentation for segmenting an entire image or a scene and a semiautomatic graph cut based segmentation using fixation points. Automatic Watershed segmentation with a Sobel edge detector is used to detect the gradient of an input image resulting in an image less sensitive to noise. To deal with the usual problem of over segmentation using watershed, marker controlled watershed transformation is applied further for segmenting an image. Fixation based graph cut segmentation allows the user to analyze the input image displayed on the screen and specify some hard constraints indicating the object of interest or target object by using the mouse interaction. Experiments are done on the publically available dataset and the results of the supervised evaluation methods are observed to be satisfactory and are demonstrated along with the manually segmented reference image or a ground truth image obtained from segmentation evaluation database

      • Fenugreek seed polyphenols inhibit RBC membrane Na+/K+-ATPase activity

Anuradha, Carani V.,Kaviarasan, Subramanian,Vijayalakshmi, Kodali Kyung Hee Oriental Medicine Research Center 2003 Oriental pharmacy and experimental medicine Vol.3 No.3

The hypoglycemic and hypolipidaemic effects of fenugreek seeds (Trigonella foenum graecum) are well established. Owing to the wide spread use of the seeds by healthy individuals and by diabetic patients we wanted to test whether the seeds can affect biological systems such as membrane transport function. In the present study fenugreek seed polyphenols were extracted and their effect on erythrocyte membrane-bound sodium-potassium adenosine triphosphatase $(Na^+/K^+-ATPase)$ activity was studied in vitro. Fenugreek seed polyphenols inhibited $Na^+/K^+-ATPase$ in erythrocyte membrane of diabetic and normal subjects. Maximum inhibition was observed at $100\;{\mu}l$ of extract containing 0.75 mM gallic acid equivalents. The uncoupling of membrane ATPases in vitro suggest that polyphenols from fenugreek seeds may possess a positive inotropic effect.

SIMPLE-ROOT NEGACYCLIC CODES OF LENGTH 2pnℓm OVER A FINITE FIELD

        Anuradha Sharma 대한수학회 2015 대한수학회지 Vol.52 No.5

Let p, ℓ be distinct odd primes, q be an odd prime power with gcd(q, p) = gcd(q, ℓ) = 1, and m, n be positive integers. In this paper, we determine all self-dual, self-orthogonal and complementary- dual negacyclic codes of length 2pnℓm over the finite field Fq with q elements. We also illustrate our results with some examples.

The Nexus Between Social Mobility and Regional Disparity: Empirical Evidence from India

Anuradha SINGH,Krishna MUNIYOOR 한국유통과학회 2022 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.9 No.1

This article examines the link between regional disparity and social mobility in India. There has been a steady rise in economic inequality in India. The rapid economic growth coupled with a rise in income inequality is a serious concern in India. While the emphasis is on inclusive growth, it appears difficult to tackle the problem without looking at the intricacies of the problem. The Social Mobility Index is an important tool that focuses on bringing long-term equality by identifying priority policy areas in the country. We used a multivariate statistical approach to construct a social mobility index at the regional level by considering several social and economic variables. Our findings show that while the Union Territory of Delhi ranks first in the social mobility index, Chhattisgarh has the least social mobility. From a policy perspective, a comprehensive examination of the determinants of the social mobility index shows that health, education access, and quality, and equity of education are of great importance in improving social mobility. Considering India’s potential economic growth resulting from its ‘demographic dividend’ and improved access, markets, and technology, increasing social mobility through facilitating equal opportunities in society is key to achieving inclusive growth.

      • (-) Epigallocatechin gallate restores ethanol-induced alterations in hepatic detoxification system and prevents apoptosis

Anuradha, Carani V,Kaviarasan, Subramanian Kyung Hee Oriental Medicine Research Center 2007 Oriental pharmacy and experimental medicine Vol.7 No.3

The present study was designed to estimate the protective effect of (-) epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) on ethanol-induced liver injury in rats. Chronic ethanol administration (6 g/kg/day ${\times}$ 60 days) caused liver damage that was manifested by the elevation of markers of liver dysfunction - aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase, lactate dehydrogenase, bilirubin and ${\gamma}$-glutamyl transferase in plasma and reduction in liver glycogen. The activities of alcohol metabolizing enzymes such as alcohol dehydrogenase and aldehyde dehydrogenase were found to be altered in alcohol-treated group. Ethanol administration resulted in the induction of cytochrome p450 and cytochrome-$b_{5}$ activities and reduction of cytochrome-c reductase and glutathione-S-transferase, a phase II drug metabolizing enzyme. Further, ethanol reduced the viability of isolated hepatocytes (ex vivo) as assessed by trypan blue exclusion test and induced hepatocyte apoptosis as assessed by propidium iodide staining. Treatment of alcoholic rats with EGCG restored the levels of markers of liver injury and mitigated the alterations in alcohol metabolizing and drug metabolizing enzymes and cyt-c-reductase. Increased hepatocyte viability and reduced apoptotic nuclei were observed in alcohol + EGCG-treated rats. These findings suggest that EGCG acts as a hepatoprotective agent against alcoholic liver injury.

Quantitative Trait Loci and Candidate Genes forYield and Related Traits in Madhukar x Swarna RIL Population of Rice

Anuradha Kotla,Sarla Neelamraju,Surekha Agarwal,Venkateswara Rao Yadavalli,Vishnu Prasanth Vinukonda,VN Chakravarthi Dhavala 한국작물학회 2013 Journal of crop science and biotechnology Vol.16 No.1

Yield of popular rice varieties such as Swarna grown in rainfed lowlands and Madhukar grown in flood prone areas needs to be continuously improved. Recombinant inbred lines (RILs) were developed from the cross between two indica cultivars Madhukar and Swarna. QTLs were mapped using 110 markers in 168 RILs. In all, 26 QTLs were mapped for yield and five related traits on chromosomes 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, and 12. QTL for plant height and days to flowering were co-located between RM23147 - RM337 on chromosome 8. RM251, RM314, and RM1135 were significantly associated with plant height and OsYSL17 was significantly linked with grain yield. Epistatic interaction was detected for plant height and number of tillers. Several candidate genes reported for yield and related traits underlie the QTL regions.

Solving A Quadratic Fractional Integer Programming Problem Using Linearization

Anuradha Gaur,S. R. Arora 한국경영과학회 2008 Management Science and Financial Engineering Vol.14 No.2

This paper concentrates on reduction of a Quadratic Fractional Integer Programming Problem (QFIP) to a 0-1 Mixed Linear Programming Problem (0-1 MLP). The solution technique is based on converting the integer variables to binary variables and then the resulting Quadratic Fractional 0-1 Programming Problem is linearized to a 0-1 Mixed Linear Programming problem. It is illustrated with the help of a numerical example and is solved using the LINDO software.

Slant H-Toeplitz operators on the Hardy space

        Anuradha Gupta,Shivam Kumar Singh 대한수학회 2019 대한수학회지 Vol.56 No.3

The notion of slant H-Toeplitz operator $V_\phi$ on the Hardy space $H^2$ is introduced and its characterizations are obtained. It has been shown that an operator on the space $H^2$ is a slant H-Toeplitz if and only if its matrix is a slant H-Toeplitz matrix. In addition, the conditions under which slant Toeplitz and slant Hankel operators become slant H-Toeplitz operators are also obtained.

New evidences of neurotoxicity of aroclor 1254 in mice brain: potential of coenzyme q10 in abating the detrimental outcomes

        Anuradha Majumdar,Abhijit Nirwane,Rahul Kamble 환경독성보건학회 2014 환경독성보건학회지 Vol.29 No.-

Objectives : The present subacute study was designed to evaluate the effect of coenzyme Q 10 (CoQ10) in the 28 days aroclor 1254 exposure induced oxidative stress in mice brain. Methods : Biochemical estimations of brain lipid peroxidation (LPO), reduced glutathione (GSH), and activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GPx) and acetyl cholinesterase (AChE), and histopathological investigations of brain tissue were carried out. Results : Oral exposure of aroclor 1254 (5 mg/kg) led to significant decrease in levels of GSH, and activities of SOD, CAT, GPx, and AChE, and increase in LPO. These aberrations were restored by CoQ10 (10 mg/kg, intraperitoneal injection [IP]). This protection offered was comparable to that of L-deprenyl (1 mg/kg, IP) which served as a reference standard. Conclusions : Aroclor 1254 exposure hampers the activities of various antioxidant enzymes and induces oxidative stress in the brains of Swiss albino mice. Supplementation of CoQ10 abrogates these deleterious effects of aroclor 1254. CoQ10 also apparently enhanced acetyl cholinesterase activity which reflects its influence on the cholinergic system.

      • Morphological Change Detection System for Real Time Traffic Analysis

Anuradha S. G.,K. Karibasappa,B. Eswar Reddy 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Signal Processing, Image Vol.8 No.8

Nowadays roads are getting overcrowded and the number of vehicles on the roads is increasing. The main reason is the increase in the population of metro cities, urbanization, and economical development of the country that subsequently led to the increased demand for vehicular travel. Incident detection and Traffic congestion are the serious issues in Traffic engineering applications and Intelligent Transport System. Hence the aim of the proposed system is to build an automatic traffic monitoring system which can replace or reduce manual traffic monitoring. The proposed mathematical Morphogical technique is able to detect and track the moving vehicle from the traffic video in real time and give a message to the traffic control station. The experimental results show that the proposed technique can be adopted under various traffic patterns, weather conditions and illuminations.
