A Long-term Trend of Place Mobility Over the Family Life Cycle

In this study, we reviewed meaningfulness of residential mobility in old age. Some people with developmental disabilities live on their own or with their families, others live in a wide range of community residential settings where they receive their services and supports, such as: group homes, supported independent living, family model care homes, and other care facilities. People with developmental disabilities have the same right to a home as everyone else. This includes the right to choose where and with whom to live, the right to own or rent a home and the right to create a personal home environment, where choices, possessions and privacy are respected. One of the challenges in providing residential support is to create the qualities of home and ensure the rights, choices and ability of people to participate in the community are honoured and facilitated. It is safe, friendly and clean. In addition, its county`s many neighborhoods have much charm, and its beautiful parks are world-famous.

The Determinants of Total Factor Productivity Growth: Evidence from Panel Data Analysis

Productivity growth over the past six decades have been recognised as a major source of economic growth for many countries. And with increasing globalization efforts across all regions, the emphasis on improving productivity and competitiveness of domestic industries has then become the forefront of many government policies. The main purpose of this research is therefore to analyze what factors affect the growth of Total Factor Productivity (TFP) across different income grouped countries and identify possible policy implications based on the relevant findings. A special focus is made on how the quality of governance, as a determinant of productivity, affects TFP growth using specific governance indicators. This aspect of the research is deemed necessary as though the quality of governance is generally expected to have a positive impact on economic growth and development, there is very limited explanation and evidence as to how specific indicators of governance quality will affect TFP growth. The research will therefore bridge the gap in knowledge by explaining how the quality of governance affects the growth of total factor productivity. In order to achieve the research objective, the study investigates three specific questions: 1. Whether the indicators used for the quality of governance significantly impact productivity growth across the income groups; 2. Which of the determinants affect productivity growth the most among high income countries and lower income groups; and lastly, 3. Does FDI, human capital, R&D, and the indicators for the quality of governance have greater impact on productivity growth in lower income or high income countries. Using Pooled OLS and Fixed Effects regression analysis, this study analyzes the determinants of Total Factor Productivity (TFP) growth for 35 countries across different income groups for the period 2002 to 2014. The main results reveal that Government Effectiveness, Rule of Law, FDI, and Trade Openness, all had statistically significant effect on the growth of Total Factor Productivity. In regards to the sample of High Income countries, the evidence suggests that Government Effectiveness and R&D negatively impacts growth in Total Factor Productivity, whereas Trade Openness and FDI showing positive impact. Whereas, in Lower Income, R&D impacts productivity growth positively, whilst Human Capital has a negative impact. An additional and unique finding of the research, was that Government Effectiveness and Rule of Law, both being used as proxies to measure the effect of the Quality of Governance on productivity growth, had totally opposite impact. Specifically, Government Effectiveness was negatively related to productivity growth across all samples, whereas Rule of Law was positive.

There are many issues for considering residential changes in old life. Let us draw an example. A mountain area county is a major league city -the business, cultural, sports and technical base of a four-county metropolitan market of 1.5 million people. It is an affordable, comfortable place to live, do business and raise a family, big enough to be exciting and uncongested enough to get around in easily. It is safe, friendly and clean. In addition, its county`s many neighborhoods have much charm, and its beautiful parks are world-famous. Its lakefront downtown is busy, noted for its Old World charm and modern buildings. Residential changes will bring a life into the old home, and a sense of coming into the old life. Coming home from an extended period abroad can cause a confusing mixture of feelings, both positive and negative. You probably remember hearing about culture shock at your pre-departure orientation. Most of you probably also remember experiencing it, to one degree or another, while you were abroad. What you may not have been prepared for is the re-entry shock of coming home. Just as with culture shock, re-entry shock encompasses a wide range of feelings and responses, from mild frustration or fatigue to feelings of alienation and depression.

Unsupervised Deformable Image Registration Using Polyphase UNet for 3D Brain MRI Volumes

Purpose: Image registration is a fundamental task in various medical imaging studies and clinical image analyses, such as comparison of patient data with anatomical structures. In order to solve the problems of conventional image registration approaches, such as long computational time, recent deep-learning supervised and unsupervised methods have been extensively studied because of their excellent performance and fast computational time. In this study, we propose a deep-learningbased network for deformable medical image registration using unsupervised learning. Materials and Methods: In this paper, we solve the image-registration optimization problem by modelling a function using a convolutional neural network with polyphase decomposition to learn the spatial transformable parameters based on the input images and to generate the registration field. A spatial transformer is used to reconstruct the output warped image while imposing smoothness constraints on the registration field. With polyphase decomposition, our proposed method learns more features based on the input image pairs without the need for any ground-truth registration field. Results: Experimental results using 3D T1 brain MRI volume scans and compared with state-of-the-art image-registration methods demonstrated that our method provides better 3D-image registration. Conclusion: Our proposed method uses less computational time in registering unseen pairs of input images during inference and can be applied for other unimodal image registration tasks, and the hyper-parameters can be adjusted for the specific task.

This paper investigates two aspects of the syntax-semantics interface that play an important role in language acquisition. After a very brief presentation of the theoretical framework of this investigation, I deal with the early syntactical development of Mexican Spanish. I argue that after the one word stage children produce two word sentences that do not have a fixed order because they are not constituted by a head and its argument. I present evidence that shows that the first head argument structures the children in this study produce contain an unaccusative verb followed by the subject or a transitive verb followed by the object, therefore, in both cases the semantic argument is the same. I deal with the acquisition of sequences of clitics as a syntactic-semantic interface problem. The purpose of the second part of this paper is to investigate the acquisition of the different word orders in Spanish. I present evidence that shows that once children start producing sentences with verbs and subjects they place the subject before or after the verb and the SV, VS alternation can be understood as an instance of optionality related to discourse considerations. The corpus analyzed shows that children under 4 yrs. of age correctly place the focused subject after transitive and inergative intransitive verbs and before unaccusative verbs. It also shows that children this age employ the SVO order to show sentence focus; the data presented suggest that these children use VSO and SVO in order to make the object more or less prominent.
