Symmetrical TiO2 nanowire (NW) arrays have been synthesized on Si by using glancing angle deposition technique. The Raman spectrum of TiO2 thin film (TF) and TiO2 NWs sample indicates the presence of both anatase and rutile phase TiO2. The electrical properties of the vertically ordered TiO2 NW arrays have been measured. The leakage current for high-k TiO2/Si capacitance reduced with the addition of TiO2 NWs on 30 nm TF. TiO2 NW dielectric was employed to achieve large conduction band offset between oxide layer and Si. A high gate capacitance has been observed due to NW effect. The barrier height between Ag/TiO2-NW interfaces was 0.9 eV and an exclusively lowest leakage current of 8.8 × 10−7 A/cm2 (at +1 V)was reported for the TiO2 NW device.
A Simple Real-Time DMPPT Algorithm for PV Systems Operating under Mismatch Conditions

This paper presents a distributed maximum power point tracking (DMPPT) algorithm based on the reference voltage perturbation (RVP) method for the PV modules of a series PV string. The proposed RVP-DMPPT algorithm is developed to accurately track the maximum power point (MPP) for each PV module operating under all atmospheric conditions with a reduced hardware overhead. To study the influence of parameters such as the controller reference voltage (Vref) and PV current (Ipv) on the PV string voltage, a small signal model of a unidirectional differential power processing (DPP) based PV-Bus architecture is developed. The steady state and dynamic performances of the proposed RVP DMPPT algorithm and small signal model of the unidirectional DPP based PV-Bus architecture are demonstrated with simulations and experimental results. The accuracy of the RVP DMPPT algorithm is demonstrated by obtaining a tracking efficiency of 99.4% from the experiment.

Oxidation of propanol by chromic acid produces propionaldehyde under kinetic condition [propa-nol]T≫ [Cr(VI)]T. This oxidation reaction is performed also in presence of micellar catalysts (anionic,cationic and neutral) and hetero-aromatic nitrogen bases promoters (picolinic acid, 2,20-bipyridine,1,10-phenanthroline) in aqueous media. The product is confirmed by 2,4-DNP test and 1H NMRspectroscopy. Anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS), neutral surfactant triton X-100 (TX-100) accelerated the reaction both in presence and absence of promoters whereas cationic surfactant Ncetylpyridinium chloride (CPC) inhibited the reaction. Combination of SDS and bipy is found to be themost efficient for this oxidation.
