자연상태에서 녹색인 채로 눈에 덮여 있는 냉동사료 엽채식물은 초식동물의 생물활성물질과 영양분의 근원이 된다. 우리는 Avena sativa, Elytrigia repens, Equisetum variegatum과 Equisetum scirpoides의 잎에서 가을에 전체 지방산 함량이 상당히 증가함을 관찰하였다. 그러나, 여름에 채취한 잎에 비하여 눈에 덮혀 얼어있는 식물에서 지방산 불포화도의 증가는 없었다(북반부 온도최저점 지역에 서식하는 키가 작은 쇠뜨기인 E. scirpoides는 예외임). 야쿠티아 말의 내부 지방조직(젊은 말의 고기)에서, 18개의 지방산이 분석되었고, 그 중 10개가 포화 지방산이었다. 그 중 70%에 해당하는 양으로 단일불포화 올레산(С18:1(n-9))과 고도불포화 α-리놀렌산이 비슷하게 분포하였다. 내부 지방조직에 이렇게 많은 고도불포화 지방산이 많이 분포하는 것은 가을과 겨울에 먹인 녹색 먹이의 영향으로 본다. 우리는 야쿠티아 말의 조직에 상당한 양으로 분포하는 식물 특이적 지방산 함량은 이 말들이 오래 동안 저온 스트레스 상황에서 저항성을 가질 수 있은 조절기작에 중요한 역할을 한다고 제안한다. Vegetative plants in Yakutia are naturally frozen when they are covered with snow in the fall, and they function as green cryo-fodder that is a source of biologically active substances and nutrients for herbivorous animals. We observed a considerable increase in the total fatty acid content in the leaves of Avena sativa, Elytrigia rеpens, Equisetum variegatum and Equisetum scirpoides during the fall period. However, the degree of unsaturation of fatty acids was not higher in the frozen plants covered with snow than in the summer plants, with the exception of E. scirpoides, a dwarf horsetail found in the Pole of Cold in the northern hemisphere. In the internal adipose tissue of the Yakut horse (young horse meat), 18 fatty acids were found, including 10 saturated ones. Monounsaturated oleic С18:1 (n-9) acid and polyunsaturated α-linolenic С18:3 (n-3) acid were equally prevalent among the unsaturated fatty acids, accounting for 70% of the total unsaturated fatty acids. This composition of polyenoic fatty acids in the internal adipose tissue indicates that the Yakut horse actively feeds on the fall vegetation and the wintergreen sedge-grass. We believe that the high plant-specific free fatty acid content in the tissue of Yakut horses may play an important role in the regulation of their resistance to long-term low-temperature stress.
Molecular Genetic Analysis of Marker rs738409 Gene PNPLA3 in the Yakut Population

Aims: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is an emerging health concern, with increasing prevalence worldwide. Recently, a non-synonymous genetic variation (rs738409) in the human patatin-like phospholipase domain-containing 3 gene (PNPLA3), was found to be associated with NAFLD among Hispanics, African Americans, and European Americans. Studies have shown that the G allele (risk allele) of rs738409 in PNPLA3 gene was associated with increased propensity of steatosis and severe fibrosis. In this study, we investigated the distribution of PNPLA3 genotypes among Yakut. Understanding the prevalence of PNPLA3 genetic variation among various ethnic populations could provide useful information for the improvement of care of patients at risk for developing hepatic steatosis and advanced liver damage. Methods: 179 samples, a population cohort of the Yakuts, were analyzed. Study participants were enrolled from YSC CMP hospital-Yakutsk City. The study was approved by YSC CMP Ethics Committee. All study participants gave written informed consent. Мы определили варианты SNP (rs738409) в гене PNPLA3. Results: As a result of genotyping of the population sample of the Yakuts for the PNPLA3 gene, the prevalence of the GG genotype (61.5%) was revealed. The allele G frequency was 76.8%. The distribution of genotypes of polymorphism rs738409 was in the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium in the sample studied (P> 0.05). Conclusions: The high frequency of G allele in Yakuts (76.8%) is probably associated with a high incidence of liver disease and severity (severe fibrosis) among the Yakuts. It is necessary to further study the PNPLA3 gene in the Yakuts with NAFLD.

Seasonal and interannual variation of volume transport through the La-Perouse Strait were estimated using the difference of sea level observed at Krillion of Sakhalin, Russia, and Wakkanai of Hokkaido, Japan, during the period of 1975-1988. Historical sea level measurements between Russian and Japanese tide gauge data were normalized using an independent direct volume transport measurement. Volume transport from the East Sea (Sea of Japan) to the Sea of Okhotsk varied from -0.01 to 1.18 Sv with an annual mean value of 0.61 Sv. Monthly water transport rates showed a unimodal distribution with its maximum occurring in summer (August) and minimum in winter (December-February). The annual mean volume transport varied from 0.2 to 0.8 Sv during the period of 1975-1988 with the maximum variance of 0.6 Sv.

Purpose: To compare perioperative, functional, and safety outcomes between thulium fiber laser enucleation of the prostate (ThuFLEP) and bipolar enucleation of the prostate performed by a single surgeon with use of propensity score (PS)-matched analysis. Materials and Methods: Data were from 675 patients, 422 of whom underwent ThuFLEP and bipolar enucleation by a single highly experienced surgeon. ThuFLEP was performed with Fiberlase U1 (IRE Polus Ltd.). Perioperative parameters, safety, and functional outcomes, such as International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS), quality of life (QoL), postvoid residual volume (PVR), and maximum urinary flow rate (Qmax) were assessed. To control for selection bias, a 1:1 PS-matched analysis was carried out using the following variables as covariates: total prostate volume, preoperative IPSS and early sphincter release. Results: Of 422 patients, 370 (87.7%) underwent ThuFLEP and 52 (12.3%) underwent bipolar enucleation. Operation, enucleation, and morcellation time were comparable between groups before and after PS-matched analysis (p=0.954, p=0.474, p=0.362, respectively). Functional parameters (IPSS, QoL, PVR, Qmax) were also comparable between groups at every time point before and after PS matching. Significant improvements in IPSS, QoL score, Qmax, and PVR were observed during the 24-month follow-up period for both ThuFLEP and bipolar enucleation without any significant differences between groups. Early and late postoperative complications before and after PS-matched analysis were similar. Conclusions: ThuFLEP was comparable to bipolar enucleation in perioperative characteristics, improvement in voiding parameters, and complication rates. Both procedures were shown to be effective and safe in the management of benign prostatic hyperplasia.
