Electron beam effect on swelling at the sol-gel derived thin film has been examined for chalcopyrite copper indium gallium diselenium thin-film semiconductor nanolayers with optical pransparent features. The copper indium gallium diselenium layers with the optical transparent features were irradiated by negatively charged electron beam which was emmited from Sr-90 radioisotope with 2.86 mCi activity. The swelling was the important parameters to use this thin film at the optoelectronic layers that have affected the safety and operating life of the equipments and systems in nuclear applications.
REMARKS ON METALLIC MAPS BETWEEN METALLIC RIEMANNIAN MANIFOLDS AND CONSTANCY OF CERTAIN MAPS
Akyol, Mehmet Akif The Honam Mathematical Society 2019 호남수학학술지 Vol.41 No.2
In this paper, we introduce metallic maps between metallic Riemannian manifolds, provide an example and obtain certain conditions for such maps to be totally geodesic. We also give a sufficient condition for a map between metallic Riemannian manifolds to be harmonic map. Then we investigate the constancy of certain maps between metallic Riemannian manifolds and various manifolds by imposing the holomorphic-like condition. Moreover, we check the reverse case and show that some such maps are constant if there is a condition for this.

Invasive mole is a benign gestational trophoblastic disease that arises from the myometrial invasion of any gestational event via direct extension through tissue or vascular structures. Invasive mole (and other gestational trophoblastic diseases) may present with life-threatening complications including uterine perforation, excessive bleeding, acute hemoperitoneum, and abdominal pain. We report a case of invasive mole presenting as abdominal distention in a 51-year-old perimenopausal woman (gravida 12, para 12, abortion 0). The patient was admitted to the gynecology clinic with a giant uterine mass filling the pelvic and abdominal cavity. To our knowledge, this is the first case in the literature of a gestational trophoblastic neoplasia presenting with uterine mass of 28 weeks` gestational size in this age group. Interestingly, complications such as uterine rupture or invasion of the adjacent structures (such as parametrial tissues or blood vessels) had not developed in our patient despite the considerable enlargement of the uterus.
Outcome of the patients with chronic mesh infection following open inguinal hernia repair

Purpose: Hernia repairs are the most common elective abdominal wall procedures performed by general surgeons. The use of a mesh has become the standard for hernia repair surgery. Herein, we discuss a management strategy for chronic mesh infections following open inguinal hernia repair with onlay prosthetic mesh. Methods: In this study, 15 patients with chronic mesh infections following open inguinal hernia repairs were included. The medical records of these patients were retrospectively reviewed and information regarding presentation, type of previous hernia repair, type of mesh, operative findings and bacteriological examination results were obtained. In all cases, the infected mesh was removed completely and the patients were treated with antibiotic regimens and local wound care. Results: Fifteen mesh removals due to chronic infection were performed between January 2000 and March 2012. The mean interval of hernia repair to mesh removal was 49 months. All patients were followed up for a median period of 62 months (range, 16 to 115 months). In all patients, the infections were resolved successfully and none were persistent or recurrent. However, one patient developed recurrent hernia and one developed nerve injury. Conclusion: Chronic mesh infection following hernia repair mandates removal of the infected mesh, which rarely results in hernia recurrence.

Objective: Risperidone long-acting injection (RLAI) was shown to be an alternative option in adult patients, but there is not available data in child and adolescents about this medication. The aim of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficiency profile of RLAI in a group of adolescents. Methods: Eleven cases with conduct disorder and severe aggressive behaviors were initiated treatment with risperidone oral form. All cases were then shifted to RLAI 25 mg injection in each 15 days due to poor compliance to oral risperidone treatment. Efficiency of treatment included indicators of clinical severity and improvement, which were evaluated by Clinical Global Impression-Severity (CGI-S) and Improvement (CGI-I). Safety evaluation was performed by using Extrapyramidal Symptoms Rating Scale, and by monitoring body weight. Follow-up visits were done at the treatment initiation, and 8th, 16th, and 24th weeks of first injection. Results: Study included 9 girls, and 2 boys, with a mean age of 14.9±1.0 years. The CGI-S scores decreased from 6.6±0.5 at the beginning to 2.2±1.1 at the last visit (p<0.001), which is a very significant decrease through better clinical level. The CGI-I scores were also improved significantly from 2.4±0.5 to 1.9±0.5 at 24th week (p=0.001). Safety parameters were also showed favorable results, which there was no significant weight gain (p=0.076), and well-tolerated extrapyramidal adverse effects. Conclusion: Our results showed that RLAI is an efficient and safe medication option in the treatment of psychiatric disorders and severe behavioral problems in adolescents with low-compliance to oral treatment in our cases
Deploying root microbiome of halophytes to improve salinity tolerance of crops
Turgut Yigit Akyol,Shusei Sato,Ismail Turkan 한국식물생명공학회 2020 Plant biotechnology reports Vol.14 No.2
Salinization of the soils is one of the most prominent problems threatening global food security. Root microbiome engineering using biofertilizers provides a sustainable way to increase agricultural productivity. Halophytes, which are extremely salt-tolerant plants, can tolerate up to 1300 mM NaCl. Members of the halophytic root microbiome now provide a promising solution to meet the increased demand in the agricultural output. Here, we explore the members of this microbiome and explain the plant growth-promoting functions of them. We discuss the manipulation of the root microbiome with synthetic microbial communities including keystone microorganisms of the halophytic root microbiome. Importantly, we provide a simple method in R software to fi nd these putative keystone taxa using network analysis. We believe this strategy will provide a valuable tool for future studies performing the combined investigation of the root bacteria and fungi of halophytes.
SHARP INEQUALITIES INVOLVING THE CHEN-RICCI INEQUALITY FOR SLANT RIEMANNIAN SUBMERSIONS
Mehmet Akif Akyol,Nergiz (Onen) Poyraz 대한수학회 2023 대한수학회보 Vol.60 No.5
Main objective of the present paper is to establish Chen inequalities for slant Riemannian submersions in contact geometry. In this manner, we give some examples for slant Riemannian submersions and also investigate some curvature relations between the total space, the base space and fibers. Moreover, we establish Chen-Ricci inequalities on the vertical and the horizontal distributions for slant Riemannian submersions from Sasakian space forms.

Effectiveness of Pregabalin for Treatment of Burning Mouth Syndrome
Saliha Yeter Amasyalı,Aslı Akyol Gürses,Osman Nuri Aydın,Ali Akyol 대한정신약물학회 2019 CLINICAL PSYCHOPHARMACOLOGY AND NEUROSCIENCE Vol.17 No.1
Treatment of burning mouth syndrome (BMS) is challenging because there is no consensus regarding pharmalogical or nonpharmalogical therapies. The use of anticonvulsants is controversial. We present nine patients BMS who respond to pregabalin. They were diagnosed secondary BMS except two. Etiologic regulations were made firstly in patients with secondary BMS but symptoms did not decrease. We preferred pregabalin in all patients and got good results. Furthermore the addition of pregabalin to the treatment of two patients who did not respond adequately to duloxetine provided good results. We are only aware that pregabalin may reduce symptoms as a result of case reports. We believe that the diagnosis of pathologic etiology with appropriate diagnostic tests will result in better outcomes in treatment.
