Manuscript-reading tradition in Indonesia has recevied little attention by scholars, while in fact this tradition is still practised by communities, in various rituals which may be called ‘living manuscripts’. This study explains how the manuscript-reading tradition can be maintained and preserved as a living heritage. This study focuses on a manuscript-reading session related to a ritual – namely, the mocoan lontar Hadis Dagang – supported only by one Osing family in Banyuwangi, East Java, Indonesia. The study was conducted based on the manuscript, manuscript-reading tradition and the associated ritual, thus requiring an interdisciplinary approach of manuscript studies, tradition studies and community studies. The findings indicate that – a tradition of manuscript reading maintained and preserved by a ritual – can be a living heritage and plays a role in safeguarding another intangible cultural heritage contained in these traditions. The ritual and manuscript-reading tradition, however, are under threat because the family members can no longer perform the manuscript-reading tradition, even though they support the tradition.
Properties of wear rate and electrical conductivity of carbon ceramic composites
Agus Edy Pramono,Muhammad Zaki Nura,Johny Wahyuadi M. Soedarsono,Nanik Indayaningsih 한양대학교 세라믹연구소 2019 Journal of Ceramic Processing Research Vol.20 No.1
Morphology, electrical conductivity, specific wear rates, and densities of carbon ceramic composites as a result of thedistribution of organic coconut coir powder in the organoclay matrix, and sintering temperature variations had beeninvestigated and studied. The raw material of matrix was tested with XRF and XRD. The higher the content of coconut coirpowder and the pyrolysis sintering temperature, the higher the electrical conductivity of the composite, and the lower thecomposite wear rate. This fabricated carbon ceramic composite is unique, the content of coco fiber powder, which turns intocarbon, decreases the wear rate, increases electrical conductivity, and produces an increasingly lightweight ceramic carboncomposite.

The main problem in increasing of rice production is the high loss of rice (10-15%) due to the use of improper equipment on each stage of harvesting and post-harvest. Based on Korea's success in increasing rice production through the use of high-tech equipment is necessary to be applied gradually in Indonesia in order to improve the production of rice by reducing the losses of rice. This study aimed to develop the technical policies to reduce the yield loss of rice by reference to the success of Korea. The methods used were (a) identification of current status of rice postharvest management system in Indonesia and Korea; (b) comparison analysis of the rice postharvest management system in both countries; (c) SWOT Analysis; and (d) arranging the recommendation of rice postharvest management strategy. The results showed that the use of properly postharvest facilities had given a good yield on postharvest handling of rice in Korea. The comparison of rice productivity between Korea and Indonesia respectively i.e. rice losses in Korea 3% and 10-15% in Indonesia, while the milling rate in Korea 73.5% and in Indonesia 63-65%. The postharvest management system of rice in Korea is able to increase production, reducing losses and cost, strengthen farmer’s position in the market, and enhancing market efficiency. In order to increase food security in Indonesia by implementing better rice postharvest management system, it is needed the strategic policies include: a. Government must support mechanization programs; b. Agricultural Science and Technology Promotion; c. Postharvest management system must be supported by relevant agencies; c. Development of dissemination and training program; d. Provide technical assistance to farmers to start business, and develop local products to increase farm income; e. Strengthen the role of the Agricultural Cooperative. Moreover, the impact of postharvest management policy in Korea will be reviewed and it will be used as a reference to develop the postharvest management policy in Indonesia. The implementation of this policy was expected to improve the rice production, reducing the losses, reducing cost, enhancing the rice processing facility, and increasing the efficiency of marketing system. In the long term, the goals of enhancing rice postharvest management system strategies are for increasing food security level, increasing food competitiveness, and increasing the farmer’s income.
Macroeconomic Factors and Balance of Payment: Evidence from Indonesia
Agus Eko Sujianto 대한산업공학회 2020 Industrial Engineeering & Management Systems Vol.19 No.1
The study aims at examining the relationship of macroeconomic variables including exchange rates, national income, interest rates, and inflation on the balance of payments in Indonesia. This research applied a Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) to determine the relationship between variables in the short-term and the long-term period. This study used data from Bank Indonesia and Statistics Indonesia from 2010 to 2017. The findings show that in the long-term, all variables, including exchange rates, national income, interest rates, and inflation, have a significant effect on Indonesia’s balance of payment. In more detail, interest rates and national income have a significant positive effect on the balance of payments, in contrast, the exchange rates and inflation have a significant negative effect on Indonesia’s balance of payments. In the short-term, the exchange rate, national income, interest rates and inflation have no impact on Indonesia’s balance of payments.
Steady-State Analysis and Trade Balance Convergence Rate of ASEAN Member Countries
Agus Maolana HIDAYAT1,Rina INDIASTUTI2,Budiono BUDIONO3,Ferry HADIYANTO4 한국유통과학회 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.6
The international trade role of a country depends on its economic condition, international economic openness, and cooperative orientation in its trade. This research analyzes AFTA free trade relating to the steady-state, disparity, and the ASEAN members’ trade balance convergence rate. The data used was taken from UNCTAD, ASYB, and Central Bank of Indonesia. The analysis model used was the most appropriate from Common, Fixed Effect Model (FEM), Random Effect Model (REM), and Generalized Method of Moment (GMM). ASEAN members’ balance trade reached a different steady-state for every country, therefore convergence pattern did not take place, and the divergence pattern occurred in trade balance among the member countries. The divergent trade balance was due to the different early economic conditions, macroeconomic development, trade openness, and trade facilities and infrastructures in each country. It was also due to the ASEAN intratrade cooperative role and low investment coming from intra-ASEAN foreign investment. To promote trade and lower divergent trade balance, it is necessary to promote intra-ASEAN trade and create a conducive situation for foreign capital investors.
Two-phase flow heat transfer of propane vaporization in horizontal minichannels
Agus Sunjarianto Pamitran,최광일,오종택,박기원 대한기계학회 2009 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.23 No.3
Experiments were performed on the convective boiling heat transfer in horizontal minichannels using propane. The test section was made of stainless steel tubes with inner diameters of 1.5 mm and 3.0 mm and lengths of 1000 mm and 2000 mm, respectively, and it was uniformly heated by applying an electric current directly to the tubes. Local heat transfer coefficients were obtained for a heat flux range of 5-20 kW m-2, a mass flux range of 50-400 kg m-2 s-1, saturation temperatures of 10, 5, and 0°C and quality ranges of up to 1.0. The nucleate boiling heat transfer contribution was predominant, particularly at the low quality region. Decreases in the heat transfer coefficient occurred at a lower vapor quality with a rise of heat flux and mass flux, and with a lower saturation temperature and inner tube diameter. Laminar flow appeared in the minichannel flows. A new boiling heat transfer coefficient correlation that is based on the superposition model for propane was developed with 8.27% mean deviation.
