This article aims to propose a reconstruction of contents of Western Medieval History in World History Textbook for Korean Highschool students, after examination on the contents in the actual textbooks. As E. H. Carr already mentioned, history is “an unending dialogue between the past and the present”. It means that it is necessary to rewrite always history in contemporary perspective. And it is the same for World History Textbooks. Unfortunately their contents of actual Western Medieval History follow only the old traditional construction. In this situation, a reconstruction of contents of Western Medieval History should be based on the consideration on its significances in actual Korean society. Three features through the Western Medieval History, results of recent academic studies, can present some significances: Diversity and Unity of Life (Coexistence of different ways of life in Christianity in course of unification); Fragmentation and Universality of Power (Decentralization of actual powers in spite of the dream of universal Empire/Church); and Immanence and Transcendence in Valuation(Opposition between consensus of secular communities and justification by transcendental values such as God). The first words of each pair are related to historical actualities, while the last words, to ideal imaginary of medieval people. These key words for Western Medieval History are expected to provide an example of reconstruction of textbook contents for the actual Significance or the World History Education: understanding various local cultures and multi-cultural society as well as formation of World citizenship as member of communities in diverse levels.
Taxonomic Review of the Family Lumbricidae (Oligochaeta) in Korea

1996년부터 1998년까지 저자가 직접 채집한 표본과 송의 표본(1965-1971)을 동정 분류한 결과 낚시지렁이과의 한국미기록 1종, 혹낚시지렁이 Aporrectodea tuberculata을 포함한 7종을 확인하였다. 한국산 낚시지렁이는 3속 10종이 된다. Seven species of the Korean Lumbricidae, including a newly recorded species, Aporrectodea tuberculata, are reviewed, with illustrations, descriptions and key of the known species in Korea. Other 3 species of the previously known species of the family were not found in this study.
3-Way Doherty 증폭기의 선형성 및 효율 개선에 관한 연구

본 논문에서는 CMRC(Compact Microstrip Resonants Cell)를 이용한 직렬 구조의 3-Way 도허티 증폭기를 연구하였다. CMRC는 선형성과 효율의 개선뿐만 아니라 기존의 선형성 개선 방법보다 간단하며 크기가 작고 가격이 저렴하다는 장점이 있다. 또한 기존의 병렬 구조의 3-way 도허티 증폭기가 아닌 하나의 디바이더만을 사용하는 직렬 구조의 3-Way 도허티 증폭기를 통해 그 크기를 줄일 수 있었다. 그 결과 CMRC를 사용한 제안된 3-Way 도허티 증폭기는 IMD3를 약 4.5 dB, PAE는 약 $9.2\%$ 개선시킬 수 있었다. In this paper, Compact Microstrip Resonant Cell(CMRC)s have been employed to suppress IMD(Intermodulation Distortion) of the 3-Way Doherty amplifier. This method can not only improve the linearity and the efficiency but also be simpler, smaller and more inexpensive than existing linearity methods; (for example harmonic feedback, back off, feed-forward, predistortion and so on) Also, using only one divider reduces the size of the proposed 3-Way Doherty amplifier. As a result, the IMD3 and the PAE have been improved by 4.5 dB and by $9.2\%$, respectively, using the proposed Doherty amplifier with CMRC.
PCB를 이용한 T-DMB(Band III)/DAB(L-Band)/Wibro 삼중 대역 안테나

본 논문에서는 이동용 인터넷 및 방송에 사용되는 주파수 대역의 송수신이 가능한 삼중 대역 안테나를 제안하였다. 이동용 방송으로 T-DMB(Band-III), DAB(L-Band) 그리고 이동용 인터넷으로 Wibro를 선택하였다. 제안된 안테나의 크기는 $10{\times}74{\times}0.6[mm^3]$으로 T-DMB 안테나의 1/4 파장의 길이가400 mm임을 비추어 볼 때 1/20 파장의 길이로 약 81.5%가 소형화가 되었다. 제작된 안테나는 T-DMB 대역에서 협대역이지만 수신 환경을 고려해 볼 때 현재 방송 서비스 중인 8 채널($180{\sim}186$ MHz)와 12 채널($206{\sim}210$ MHz)에서 충분히 수신 가능하다. 또한 이상적인 다이폴 안테나와 비교했을 때 DAB와 Wibro 대역에서는 동등한 특성을 갖는다. In this paper, we propose Triple-band antenna, which is practicable for the transmission and the reception of the frequency band used in mobile broadcast and mobile internet. We choose T-DMB(Band-III), DAB(L-Band) for a mobile broadcast and Wibro for a mobile internet. The size of proposal antenna measures $10{\times}74{\times}0.6[mm^3]$. Although being defective in that T-DMB bandwidth is rather narrow, the antenna, considering the reception environment, has an advantage of a realistic possibility of reception in 8 channel($180{\sim}186$ MHz)and 12 channel($206{\sim}210$ MHz) of T-DMB band, being given broadcast services. Also It has gains similar characteristics of ideal dipole antenna in DAB and Wibro band.
지리산 고도에 따른 토양서식성 앉은뱅이(거미강)의 월별 개체군 밀도 변화

Seasonal fluctuations in density of soil-inhabiting Pseudoscorpions at the Piagol, Mt. Chiri were assessed on the basis of 4,984 individuals collected from March 1993 to February 1995. They encompassed 2 families, 6 genera and 11 species. Species composition and abundance were as follows: Allochthonius buanensis 47.0%, Microcreagris sp. 2. 20.7%, Microcreagris pygmaea 12.9%, Microcreagris japonica 9.8%, Pararoncus japonicus 3.7%, Mundochthonius minusculus 3.2%, Parobisium longipalpus 1.2%, Microbisium pygmaeum 1.0%, Allochthonius coreanus 0.2%, Microcreagris sp. 1 0.2%, and Parobisium robustiella 0.1%. Diversity index (H') decreased and dominance index (C) increased at the height of 1,200 m. The heights of 500 m. The heights of 500 m and 600 m were dominated heavily by A. buanensis and abundance of M. japonical and Microcreagris sp. 2 was also comparatively high and H' was high in March and April, low in August and September. in case of May, Jun., Jul., Oct., Nov., Dec., Jan. 1993, and Feb. 1994, H' stayed at a relatively constant level. A total of 4,984 individuals including 1,170 protonymphs (23.5%), 1,251 deutonymphs (25.1%), 533 tritonymphs (10.7%), and 2,030 adults (40.7%) was collected from the study sites. Sex ratio of the Pseudoscorpions was approximately 1 female : 1.1 male.
