        General behaviors based on hydraulic characteristics of natural streams and channels have been recently analyzed and developed via various numerical models. However in the states of natural hydraulics, an experimental research must be performed simultaneously with the mathematical analysis due to effects of hydraulic properties such as meander, sediment, and so on. In this study based on 2-D advection-dispersion equation, flow and tracer experiments were performed in the S-curved meandering laboratory channel with a rectangular cross-section. The channel was equipped with instrument carriages which was equipped with an auto-traversing system to be used with velocity measuring sensors throughout the depth and breadth of the flow field. To measure concentration distribution of the salt solution was adjusted to that of the flume water by adding methanol and a red dye (KMnO4) was added to aid the visualization of the tracer cloud, the tracer was instantaneously injected into the flow as a full-depth vertical line source by the instantaneous injector and the initial concentration of the tracer was 100,000 mg/l. The secondary current as well as the primary flow pattern was analyzed to investigate the flow distribution in the meandering channels. The velocity distribution of the primary flow for all cases skewed toward the inner bank at the first bend, and was almost symmetric at the crossovers, and then shifted toward the inner bank again at the next alternating bend. Thus, one can clearly notice that the maximum velocity occurs taking the shortest course along the channel, irrespective of the flow conditions. The result of the tracer tests shows that pollutant clouds are spreading following the maximum velocity lines in each cases with various mixing patterns like superposition, separation, and stagnation of pollutant clouds. Flow characteristics in each cases performed in this study can be compared with tracer dispersion characteristics with using evaluation of longitudinal and transverse dispersion coefficients(LDC, TDC). As expected, LDC and TDC in meandering parts have been evaluated with increasing distribution and straight parts have effected to evaluate minimum of LDC and TDC due to symmetric flow patterns and attenuations of secondary flow.

        분쟁광물과 미국의 관련 정책분석

        분쟁광물이란 특히, 콩고민주공화국(DRC)의 동부지역과 같이 분쟁지역에서 채굴되는 광물에 대하여 부르는 용어이다. 보통 분쟁광물이란 주석, 콜탄(컬럼바이트-탄탈라이트), 중석, 금과 같은 광물로 주로 콩고민주공화국(DRC)의 동부지역에서 채굴되고 있는 광물로서, 이러한 분쟁광물은 여러 가지 전자기기의 제조에 사용되고 있다. 콩고민주공화국(DRC)과 이웃 나라에서 분쟁을 종식시키기 위해 자금원이 되어왔던 분쟁광물의 개발이나 교역의 근원을 차단시키고 분쟁국에 있어서 무장그룹에 의한 분쟁을 억제시킬 필요가 있다. 미국 증권거래위원회(Securities and Exchange Commission, SEC)는 2012년 8월 22일 금융규제개혁법 제 1502조에 근거하는 규칙을 채택하였는데, 이 법에 따라 미국 기업들은 증권거래위원회에 분쟁광물을 이용하여 제품을 생산할 경우 분쟁광물의 원산지에 대한 보고를 하여야 한다. 이 법은 분쟁 광물의 원산지를 추적하여 특히, 분쟁 광물의 자금원이 되고 있는 콩고 민주공화국을 필두로 분쟁국에 있어서의 무장세력의 직 간접 자금원을 끊어 분쟁을 억제하는 것을 그 목적으로 하고 있다. Conflict minerals refer to minerals mined in conditions of armed conflict, especially as in the eastern provinces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The common conflict minerals are cassiterite, wolframite, coltan(columbite-tantalite ore), and gold, which are mined and extracted from the Eastern Congo. These minerals are essentially used in the manufacture of a variety of devices, including consumer electronics. To end the violent conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and in surrounding countries, it is necessary to block the supply route of conflict minerals which has been partially financed by the exploitation and trade of conflict minerals. The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, passed into law in July 2010 and it contains requirements that U.S. companies report to the Securities and Exchange Commission(SEC) on the origin of conflict minerals and show due diligence of OECD. The goal of the act is to cut direct and indirect funding of armed groups engaged in conflict.

        혀의 점막하에 발생한 신경초종 환자의 치험례

        Schwannoma is a benign, slow-growing, tumor of the peripheral nerves without specific symptoms, so that early diagnosis may be difficult. Though approximately 25~40% of all schwannomas occur extracranially in the head and neck region, only 1% of schwannomas are reported in the oral cavity. An 18-years-old female patient visited our clinic with a mass on the middle-right-dorsal surface of the tongue slowly growing for 1.5 years. The patient underwent the surgical removal of the neoplasia under general anesthesia. The mass was well capsulated and a cleavage plane was easily found. There was no recidivation during the course of a one-year follow-up. The treatment for schwannoma is surgical excision of the lesion and recurrence after excision of schwannoma is rare. The final diagnosis is made after a histological examination. Differential diagnoses must be made in relation to malignant tumors and in relation to numerous benign neoformations based on epithelial and connective tissues.

        안면 비대칭 환자에서 Cone Beam Computed Tomography를 이용한 하악골 해부학적 변이의 분석

        Purpose: The study was performed to compare patients with anatomical variations in facial asymmetry with patients in the normal range using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) and to take the preoperative condition into consideration in the case of a sagittal split ramus osteotomy (SSRO). Methods: The study was conducted on 46 adult patients composed of 2 subdivided groups, an asymmetry group (n=26) and a symmetry group (n=20). The asymmetry group was divided between patients with hemimandibular hyperplasia (HH, n=8) and hemimandibular elongation (HE, n=18). Using cross-sectional computed tomography images, the thickness of cancelleous bone in the buccal area of the mandible, thickness of buccal cortex in the buccal aspect of the mandible, thickness of cancellous bone in the inferior aspect of the mandible, thickness of buccal cortex in the inferior aspect of the mandible, and cross-sectional surface area of the mandible were measured. Results: In the asymmetry group, the cross-sectional area of the mandible including the inferior alveolar nerve positioned on the affected side was significantly different from the symmetry group. Thickness of cancelleous bone in the buccal aspect of the mandible, thickness of cancelleous bone in the inferior aspect of the mandible, and cross-sectional surface area of the mandible in the affected site of hemimandibular hyperplasia was significantly smaller than in the symmetry group. Conclusion: The inferior alveolar nerve runs lower and in a more buccal direction and shows a smaller cross-sectional surface of the mandible in the hemimandibular hyperplasia patients with asymmetry.

        애니메이션 타이밍 감각 증진을 위한 두뇌기반 교수법 설계

        본 연구는 애니메이션에 있어서 중요한 표현 요소인 타이밍 감각의 증진을 위한 교수법 개발과정의 내용으로 그 구성요소와 교수법개발을 위한 절차를 설계하는 내용이다. 타이밍 감각은 지식적인 정보의 축적이라기 보다는 시각정보와 인지정보 사이에서 즉시적으로 뇌에서 통찰되는 감각기능이다. 이는 모두 두뇌의 작용으로 고차인지적 통찰능력이 발휘 되어야하며 시상이 받아들인 정보가 손끝으로 처리되기 까지는 다양한 원리에 입각한 훈련이 필요하다. 타이밍감각은 애니메이션 표현에서 키포즈를 적시해 낼 수 있는 능력과 이어진다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이러한 원리에 근거한 두뇌기반 훈련법 움직임의 타이밍을 적절히 표현한 키포즈 드로잉의 교육요소로 적용하기위한 구성요소를 도출하는 연구를 실시하였다. 또한 두뇌기반 드로잉교육에 의한 드로잉 수업이 애니메이션 학습자의 키포즈 드로잉능력과 관련된 요소변화에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것을 알아보기 위한 연구 프로세스 설계안을 구상하였다. 설계 결과 두뇌기반 키포즈 드로잉교육의 내용요소를 두뇌기반 촉진원리와 키포즈 드로잉의 영역, 그리고 조형원리와 관련지어 분류하였고, 두뇌기반 촉진요소로는 메타인지감각, 고차감각인지, 긍정정서이며, 키포즈 드로잉의 표현영역은 선, 형태, 입체감, 운동감, 연출이며 그에 따른 요소로는 속도감, 생동감, 도식, 키동작, 무게감, 무게중심, 힘의 작용점, 리듬, 강조, 생략으로 추출되었다. 이들 요인, 요소들은 서로 유기적으로 결부되어 능력을 향상시키는 것으로 분석되었다. This study has the contents of learning development procedures to improve the timing sense which is an important expression element in animation; and contains the design procedures for related elements and learning development. Timing sense is not an accumulation of intellectual information, but rather a sensing ability which is instantly recognized in the brain between visual information and cognitive information. This is the function of the brain and for this, high-level cognitive discerning ability should be exercised and the training which is based on various principles are required until the received information by thalamus is processed by the fingertip. Timing sense is connected with the ability which could direct the key pose in the animation expression. Therefore, this study was conducted to draw the elements that could apply the timing of the movements in brain-based learning method which is based on this principle to the education elements of the appropriately expressed key pose drawing. Additionally, a research process design was planned to identify whether the drawing class which is based on brain-based drawing learning could positively affect the connected changes which are connected with the animation learner"s key pose drawing ability and related element changes. According to the design, the elements of brain-based key pose drawing learning were classified by connecting the brain-based acceleration principle, key pose drawing areas and design principle. Brain-based acceleration elements were classified into meta-cognitive sense, high-level sense cognition, positive emotion and the expression areas of key pose drawing are line, shape, three-dimensional sense, movement sense and display and the consequent elements were extracted as sense of speed, liveliness, diagram, key movement, sense of weight, center of gravity, force"s point of action, rhythm, emphasis and omission. These elements were analyzed to improve the ability as they are organically connected each other.

        인문학 담론을 통한 추측적 디자인의 물질성에 대한 탐구

        Background : Purpose-driven design, prevalent both in South Korea and globally, often faces constraints in addressing contemporary challenges such as Anthropocene and climate change. This study seeks to challenge these limitations and to explore novel design methodologies for transformation. Specifically, the study explores the intersections between speculative design and the emerging humanistic discourse on the nature of objects, with the aim of offering new theoretical and methodological perspectives to the design community. Methods : This research employed a comprehensive literature review focusing on the seminal theories of Bruno Latour, Timothy Morton, and Tim Ingold, who are at the forefront of the materiality discourse. Elements of their theories relevant to materiality, design materials, and speculative design were explored. In addition, an analysis was conducted on speculative design-related exhibitions from the past five years, media articles, and designer portfolios that resonate with the humanist narrative. Results : Through our analysis, we identified connections between the work of designers such as Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg, Superflux, and Formafantasma and the humanities discourse. We propose the incorporation of design methodologies that engage in dialogues with materials, underpinned by the lexicon of science fiction, as a prospective approach for projects in South Korea. Conclusions : Beyond the adoption of new technologies, the intertwining of design with external humanities discourses presents an opportunity for the evolution of contemporary design methodologies. It is expected that such interdisciplinary endeavors will provide a solid theoretical foundation that fosters innovative conditions and explorations. This approach empowers designers to meet todays challenges and to generate a new understanding of materials as dynamic entities.
