Recently geotextile tube was widely used in marine works and its failure phenomenon have occurred in seaming zone. Through a model for the design strength of geotextile tube, the tensile strength of geotextile that composed tube is mentioned as a basic value, unless the seam strength is the most weak part in the geotextile tube. Futhermore, long-term resistance of seam strength have not considered for determining thee design strength of geotextile tube. This paper discussed about the seam behavior in term of long-term design strength of geotextile tube.

To calculate the long-term allowable strength of geosynthetic reinforcement, replacement method was recommended. In isochronous curve at given time, we can read the allowable strength at allowable creep strain. The allowable strain gets from specification by directors or manufacturers according to the allowable displacement of reinforced structures. The allowable strength can be determined in relation to the allowable horizontal displacement each structures case by case. The effect of installation damage on isochronous behaviors of geosynthetic reinforcement was little. From the analytical consideration, the strain compatibility was recommended to determine long-term allowable strength of geosynthetic reinforcements considering tensile deformation between reinforcement and soil.

Geotextile tube was widely used in marine works and its failure phenomenon have occurred in seaming zone. For more understanding on seam behavior in geotextile tubes, the main factors that affect failures of seam were discussed and basic test on the seam conditions to seam strength was conducted. As results, seam type and stitching type are more critical than strength of seam thread.

A porous geocell, named Geocomb, was developed and tested for its technical support documents. Mechanical test for strip and seam of geocell was researched. Some test site were prepared for its performance and sertification. This paper included that the test results of porous geocell and case histories of trial site.

On the green geosynthetics, current issues; a development of green geosynthetics, its background and technical concerns, were discussed and some of research results to qualify the control technique for bio-degradability in green geosynthetics were also presented. Finally, the rest result shows that the control of bio-degradability in green geosynthetics is available.
