Methods of preventing and treating knee injuries have changed with the rapid development and refinement of knee braces. Recently, Our knee brace concept is polymer composite and hinge with multi axial joint. We are having some problem applying carbon fiber reinforced plastic(CFRP). because of brittleness even CFRP have good mechanical specifications. In this study, Mechanical test of anisotropic CFRP frame using vacuum compaction. The method of assemble with polyurethane or silicon. It is effective method for decrease of brittleness. Our frame and hinge joint of knee brace desighned for maximum damping effect in the assembly weakness.

In the past few years, a paradigm shift has taken place in the understanding of normal knee kinematics. Although the knee joint may look like a simple joint, it is one of the most complex. Moreover, the knee is more likely to be injured than is any other joint in the body. When the knee moves, it does not just bend and straighten, or, as it is medically termed, flex and extend. There is also a slight rotational component in this motion. It has been held that during knee flexion the femur bodily rolls-back on the tibia, and furthermore that his phenomenon is produced by tension in the cruciate ligaments. Previous studies on joint motion have relied on techniques with various standing and undertaking a squat the living knee can be image in three dimensions under weight-bearing conditions. In this study, We regard to Knee joint movement has simplificated ellipsography motion. So, Our design concept has ellipsography motion hinge applied reciprocator.

Intra-articular Correction of the Femorotibial Joint Malalignment by Computer Assisted Surgeries

An upper tibial opening wedge osteotomy is an operation to cure a malalignment and a degenerate arthritis. To prevent the postoperative malalignment caused by the upper tibial opening wedge osteotomy, the research to define the relationship between a Hinge Axis Angle and a Posterior Slope Angle is needed. The effect of the relationship between the hinge axis angle and the gap angle on the posterior slope angle is studied. After 3-D Compute Tomography (CT) scanning image is reconstructed, the virtual surgery is performed by the reconstructed 3-D tibia model. It was proved that the relationship between the hinge axis angle and the gap angle were constant and the simple mathematical model could be derived. To verify the suggested mathematical model, it compared with the measured data from the virtual surgery. In conclusion, while the deviation between the data from the virtual surgery and ones of the mathematical model under the gap angle<10° was less than 1%.
