The purpose of this study is to measure the values of Dancesport and search for the ways to popularize it, contributing to its popularization and growth. The values of dancesport were examined in the physiological, leisure-cultural, sociological and educational aspects. In the physiological aspects, dancesport is one of the best aerobics which has a strong effect on cadio-vascular such as cycling and so on. In the leisure-cultural aspects, leisure is becoming more and more important. Dancesport is defined on this aspects level as activity chosen in relation for qualities of satisfaction under the current circumstance. In the social aspects, the social expectation of male initiative is of course also the reason that conventionally in dancesport the man leads, and the lady follows, the man is basically responsible for the choreography and directions of travel. It requires understanding manner and morals which make good relationship between people. In the educational aspects, dancesport introduced to people as a life sports that people can enjoy themselves. This study is suggested how world dancesport association trying dancesport to be chosen as a of ficial sport in Olympic games. We should carefully check current problems of dancesport association in Korea and suggest an appropriate mesaure to be taken.

20 세기 미국 여성 스포츠의 사회

본 연구는 근대 미국 스포츠의 발전단계에서 스포츠에 대한 사회적 정당성을 부여했던 스포츠 이데올로기가 어떻게 여성의 스포츠 참여에 영향을 미쳤는가를 사회-문화적 시각에서 추적하였다. 이러한 관계를 분석하기 위하여 스포츠 역사학자 Cahn Adelman이 논의한 근대 스포츠의 발달 모형에 그 이론적 근거를 두었다. 본 연구에서 제시하는 스포츠 이데올로기의 세 가지 측면은 1) 성격 형성. 2) 건강증진. 3) 도덕성 형성을 말한다. 이것들은 미국 사회구조가 근대화의 움직임을 겪으면서 일어난 사회적 혼란들을 방지하고자 그 당시 언론 및 정치가들로부터 제기했던 사회 체육 운동의 정당한 근거이자 사회적 명제였다. 이러한 스포츠 이데올로기가 근대 사회의 변화에서 강력한 무형의 도구로 작용할 수 있었던 것은 두 가지 이유에서였다. 첫 번째 이유는 당시 미국 도시민들의 정신적 방황과 신체적 약화 현상을 치유하고자 하는 사회 지도층들의 노력이었다. 두 번째 요인은 근대 자본주의 사회로의 급격한 전이로 빚어진 종교적 신념의 붕괴로 인한 일반 도시인들의 스포츠 활동에 대한 욕구가 전근대 시대보다 훨씬 증가되는 현상이 서로 상충되어 졌기 때문이다.당시의 이러한 사회적 정당성을 내포한 스포츠 이데올로기는 미국 스포츠를 힘, 기량, 그리고 근력형성이라는 남성적인 성격을 띠도록 유도해 왔다. 또한 여성들에게는 스포츠 참여를 통해서 인내, 자기절제, 그리고 복종이라는 미덕을 배우도록 하는 사회적인 압력을 가했다. 동시에 이류 배반적으로 스포츠 참여를 통한 여성 고유의 멋을 갖추도록 요구했다.첫 번째, 성격 가치 형성의 측면으로는, 여성들은 스포츠 참여를 통하여 시대가 요구하는 여성상을 배우는 장이 되도록 사회적으로 강요받았다. 둘째로, 건강증진이라는 측면은 여성이 남성보다 열등한 성이라는 20세기 초 의학적 풍토아래 여성에 맞는 적절한 운동에 참여하도록 교육시키는 근거가 되었다. 그 당시 출산율의 저하는 여성에게 운동을 해야한다는 당위성을 부여하는 근거가 되었으며, 여성 체육을 담당하는 지도자들은 체력증강과 동시에 자기수련이라는 여성이 갖추어야할 덕목을 역설하였다. 마지막으로, 도덕성 형성의 측면은 여성이 스포츠 참여를 통하여 여성스러움과 어머니 상을 갖추어야 한다고 강조했다. 그러나 1940년대 이후 여성의 사회적 참여가 증가하면서 스포츠 이데올로기를 통한 여성의 스포츠 참여에 대한 사회적 통제는 완화되기 시작하였다. 그리고 1960년도 이후 여성이 국제 스포츠 대회에서 분야별로 두각을 나타내면서 남성적인 측면을 강조하고 여성은 여성에 맞는 스포츠만을 강조했던 미국 스포츠의 속성은 원래의 취지에서 매우 다르게 변하게 되었다. 특별히 흑인 여성 및 레즈비언들의 남성 못지 않은 기록 경신은 스포츠 이데올로기 속에서 억압되어진 여성의 스포츠 사회화 과정에 반기를 드는 현상으로 부각되어 나타나게 되었다.

포스트모더니즘과 스포츠의 관련성에 관한 연구

The purpose of this study was to critically review the modern sport characteristics and to propose the characteristics of the so-called `Post-modern Sport.` For doing this, Characteristics of modern sport were criticized from the cultural perspective. And phenomenon and aspect to post-modernism in various fields were investigated to pursue the alternative frameworks of post modern types of sport. As a result of this study, the followings were proposed as the relationship between post-modernism and sport which is called as characteristics of post-modern sport. First, the structure and forms of post-modern types of sport reflect the changing pattern and characteristics of post-industrial society. Second, the value system of post-modern sport would related to the some extent with thought and phenomenon of post-modernism. Third, `the eco-sport` and `the techno-sport` reflect the aspect of post-modern society, especially these kinds of sports would be considered as the sport for participation rather- than as the sport for spectation. Fourth, there woud be slow and steadily coming a movement that is called somatic revolution which means the rehumanization through sport activity. Finally, the new concept of sport based on the context of cultural phenomenon were rapidly distributed to the local bases of society. In conclusion, it seems that the so-called post modern sport reflect the characteristics and values of post-modern society and period.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the methodological framework for studying the leisure sociology. A revised model of leisure research, for doing this, was suggested as a result of critical reviewing the traditional research framework. This model was an attempt to formalize both the theoretical and methodlogical bases for the social phenomena related with leisure experiences. The followings were proposed as the result of this study: First of all, a revised sociology of leisure suggested in this study would attempt to describe and explain the relational nature of leisure. Second, social relationships are the basic units of extended social networks of community, and so can be studied using techniques of social network analysis. Third, under the revised model, leisure is conceived as a social context which is characterized by the patterning of affective, non-instrumental relationships within social networks of community. Fourth, such relationships are activated for leisure, they provide the structure, order, and coherence for recreation activity participation and the for the social creation of leisure meanings. Finally, the revised model of leisure developed in this study would be applied an exploratory study of social networks and recreation activity in context of leisure phenonmenon.

한국 창작춤의 페미니즘 연구

This study is a theoretical approach to feminism. Following three creative dances participated in the study to seek a thread of Korean dance culture and to catch its relationship with feministic realities; A Tree Rain by Hak Sun Lim, A Lady Embraced a Moon by Eun Ju Lee, A Pouch by Sam Jin Kim. The results are as follows. A remarkable scene of old Korean history was adopted to put in feministic theme in Korean creative dances. Patriarchal ideology, cultural color and social realities appeared in the dance The issue of woman entertainers during Japanese invasion, for example, was a theme. Women in the dance had positive and sovereign images and carved out their own destinies, free from environmental restraints. There appeared a resolute will striving for truth and freedom with feminism restoration. Masculine and dynamic moves in the dance revealed a strong, egotistic woman image. The feministic realities of Korean creative dances have been cone true in active, indepen-dent motions rather than passive, negative ones.
