The Analysis of Spectrum on the Barkhausen Noise of Hysteresis Loops on Neutron Irradiated Material
Sim, Cheul-Muu,Chang, Kee-Ok,Park, Kook-Nam,Cho, Man-Soon,Park, Chang-Oong The Acoustical Society of Korea 1999 韓國音響學會誌 Vol.18 No.e1
In relation to a non-destructive evaluation of irradiation damages, the changes in the hysteresis loop and Barkhausen noise amplitude and the harmonics frequency due to a neutron irradiation were measured and evaluated. The Mn-Mo-Ni low alloy steel of RPV was irradiated to a neutron fluence of 2.3 ×10/sup 19/ n/㎠ (E ≥1 MeV) at 288℃. The saturation magnetization of neutron irradiated metal did not change. The neutron irradiation caused the coercivity to increase, whereas susceptibility to decrease. The amplitude of Barkhausen noise parameters associated with the domain wall motion were decreased by a neutron irradiation. The spectrum of Barkhausen noise is analysed with an applied frequency of 4 Hz and 8 Hz, sampling time of 50 μ sec and 20 μ sec. The harmonic frequency shows 4 Hz, 8 Hz, 12 Hz and 16 Hz reflected from an unirradiated specimen. On the contrary, the harmonic frequency disappeared on the irradiated specimen. In addition to the amplitude, the harmonic frequency of Barkhausen noise is taken into accounts as a promising tool for monitoring the irradiation induced degradation of the reactor materials such as a SA508 of PWR-RPV steel and a Zr₄ of HANARO-CNH.

This study started to export an orchard tractor to Europe under the situations that R&D activities for orchard tractor were marginal and even it was not produced. The R&D for orchard tractor has been progressed and the most of it is accomplishing the goal. In this study, the durability of clutch friction part was tested for F/R clutch and moment of inertia of PTO clutch, and it was compared with the design criteria of transmission of tractor. According to the results of inertia test of F/R clutch, hydraulic pressures of clutch satisfied 1,961.33 ± 196.13 ㎪ of design criteria, and the variations of torque for forward and reverse operation were relatively constant. Therefore, it was found that the durability of clutch friction part was stable and reliable. Test results showed that the main hydraulic pressures were maintained 1,961.33 ± 196.13 ㎪ during the tests of moment of inertia of PTO clutch, and when it was operated, the hydraulic pressures were reached 1,961.33±196.13 ㎪. Therefore, it was found that the hydraulic pressures of PTO satisfied the design criteria. By the results that the time of the hydraulic pressures of PTO reaching main hydraulic pressure, and that of torque values restoring to the original was same as the time of the first gear of PTO reaching the maximum rotational speed, it was found that PTO could transfer power to attachments as it was designed.
Tooth Whitening - What`s the difference, White & Bright?
Nam, Chang-Ok 대한임상예방치과학회 2005 International Journal of Clinical Preventive Denti Vol.1 No.1
On professional tooth whitening, it was effective to use the splint through maximizing activated oxygen and temperature from light irradiation. Temperature increases of 8℃ ~ 10℃ were observed by use of whitening agent and plasma arc light otherwise 13℃ ~ 15℃ increase were revealed by use of the splint with the same agent.
Shewanella basaltis sp. nov., a marine bacterium isolated from black sand.
Chang, Ho-Won,Roh, Seong Woon,Kim, Kyoung-Ho,Nam, Young-Do,Jeon, Che Ok,Oh, Hee-Mock,Bae, Jin-Woo Society for General Microbiology 2008 International journal of systematic and evolutiona Vol.58 No.8

A Gram-negative, motile, rod-shaped bacterium was isolated from black sand collected at Soesoggak, Jeju island, Korea. The strain, designated J83T, was able to grow in the presence of 5 % NaCl, at temperatures of 4-45 degrees C and over the pH range 5.5-9.5. The isolate reduced nitrate to nitrite and was positive for oxidase, catalase, alkaline phosphatase and leucine arylamidase. Strain J83(T) utilized malate, maltose, mannitol and glucose as sole sources of carbon. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that strain J83T belongs to the class Gammaproteobacteria and is related to species of the genus Shewanella. Strain J83T exhibited 97.8 % 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity to the type strain of Shewanella hafniensis. Based on DNA-DNA hybridization, the level of relatedness between strain J83T and S. hafniensis NBRC 100975T was 39.3 %. On the basis of phenotypic, genetic and phylogenetic data, strain J83T is considered to represent a novel species of the genus Shewanella, for which the name Shewanella basaltis sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is J83T (=KCTC 22121T =JCM 14937T).

Recombinant expression in Escherichia coli allows the simple, economical, and effective production of bioactive peptides. On the other hand, the production of native peptides, particularly those rich in disulfide bonds, is a major problem. Previous studies have reported that the use of carrier proteins for fusion expression can result in good peptide yields, but few are folded correctly. In this study, two transmembrane small proteins in E. coli, YoaJ and YkgR, which both orientate with their N-termini in cytoplasm and their C-termini in periplasm, were used for fusion expression. The recombinant production of two peptides, asteropsin A (ASPA) and 관-defensin (BD), was induced in the periplasm of E. coli using a selected carrier protein. Both peptides were expressed at high levels, at yields of approximately 5-10 mg/L of culture. Mass spectrometry showed that the resulting peptide had the same molecular weight as their natural forms. After purification, single peaks were observed by reversed phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC), demonstrating the absence of isoforms. Furthermore, cytoplasmically expressed fusion proteins with a carrier at their C-termini did not contain disulfide bonds. This study provides new carrier proteins for fusion expression of disulfide bond-rich peptides in E. coli.

While roll-to-roll nanoimprint lithography (R2R NIL) can be capitalized in highly scalable fabrication of nanopatterns, preparation of large-area flexible molds remains the main challenge. In this work, we demonstrate that tiling of small-area nanopatterns in a slightly overlapped fashion can provide a practical solution to it; sequentially performing the UV NIL processes onto self-replicable UV-curable resin drops by using a small tile mold can create largearea-tiled molds. We systematically investigated that controlling the tile NIL force and several parameters is crucial to minimize the seams between tiles. We also present that the R2R NIL system can be improved by integrating a linear UV LED module for prompt UV curing before the as-imprinted nanopattern reflows, which is critical for high-resolution, high-quality nanopatterning. By using the tiled mold containing 45 nm-half-pitch nanogratings and operating the UV LED-integrated R2R NIL system, we exemplify that sub 50 nm-resolution nanopatterns can be faithfully created.

Tissue equivalent proportional counter (TEPC) can measure the Linear Energy Transfer (LET) spectrum and calculate the equivalent dose for the complicated radiation field in space. In this paper, we developed and characterized a TEPC for radiation monitoring in International Space Station (ISS). The prototype TEPC which can simulate a 2 μm of the site diameter for micro-dosimetry has been tested with a standard alpha source (241Am, 5.5 MeV). Also, the calibration of the TEPC was performed by the 252Cf neutron standard source in Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS). The determined calibration factor was kf = 3.59x10-7 mSv/R.
