Vol.15 No.11

Polycarbonates are widely used as housing materials of electronic handsets. Since the polycarbonate is electrically insulating, there should be a conducting layer on the polycarbonate for EMI shielding. In this study, we sputter deposited Cu films on the polycarbonate substrates for EMI shielding. Plasma treatments of polycarbonates were used to increase the adhesion strength of the Cu film/polycarbonate interface. The surface energy of the polycarbonate was greatly increased from $30mJ/m^2 \;to\; 65mJ/m^2$ by a 200 W $O_2$ plasma treatment for 10s. It is thought that this is because of the ion bombardment. The adhesion strength of the sputter deposited Cu film to the polycarbonate was quantitatively measured by a 4 point bending tester. A moderate plasma surface treatment of the polycarbonate increased the Cu film/polycarbonate adhesion strength by $30\%$. The EMI shielding efficiency of the sputter deposited $10{\mu}m$ Cu lam on the polycarbonate showed 90dB in the range of 100MHz to 1000MHz.

2000 Restorative Dentistry & Endodontics Vol.25 No.1

Most of cervical abrasion and erosion lesions show gingival margin where the cavosurface angle is on cementum or dentin. Composite resin restoration of cervical lesion shrink toward enamel margin due to polymerization contraction. This shrinkage has clinical problem such as microleakage and secondary caries. Several methods to diminish contraction stress of composite resin restoration, such as modifying cavity form and building up restorations in several increments have been attempted. The purpose of this study was to compare polymerization contraction stress of composite resin in Class V cavity subjected to cavity forms and placement methods. In this study, finite element model of 5 types of Class V cavity was developed on computer tomogram of maxillary central incisor. The types are : 1) Box cavity 2) Box cavity with incisal bevel 3) V shape cavity 4) V shape cavity with incisal bevel 5) Saucer shape cavity. The placement methods are 1) Incisal first oblique incremental curing 2) Bulk curing. An FEM based program for light activated polymerization is not available. For simulation of curing dynamics, time dependent transient thermal conduction analysis was conducted on each cavity and each placement method. For simulation of polymerization shrinkage, thermal stress analysis was performed with each cavity and each placement method. The time-temperature dependent volume shrinkage rate, elastic modulus, and Poisson's ratio were determined in thermal conduction data. The results were as follows : 1. With all five Class V cavifies, the highest Von Mises stress at the composite-tooth interface occurred at gingival margin. 2. With box cavity, V shape cavity and saucer cavity, Von Mises stress at gingival margin of V shape cavity was lower than the others. And that of box cavity was lower than that of saucer cavity. 3. Preparing bevel at incisal cavosurface margin decreased the rate of stress development in early polymerization stage. 4. Preparing bevel at incisal cavosurface margin of V shape cavity increased the Von Mises stress at gingival margin, but decreased at incisal margin. 5. At incisal margin, stress development by bulk curing method was rapid at early stage. Stress development by first increment of incremental curing method was also rapid but lower than that by bulk curing method, however after second increment curing final stress was the same for two placement methods. 6. At gingival margin, stress development by incremental curing method was suddenly rapid at early stage of second increment curing, but final stress was the same for two placement methods.

The purpose of this study was to assess the current materials, methods and difficulties according to the year of licence and educational background of Korean dentists in Class II direct composite resin restorations. Total 17 questions were included in the questionnaire. Questions were broadly divided into two parts: first. operator's information. and second. the materials and methods used in Class II posterior composite restoration. The questionnaire was sent to dentists enrolled in Korean Dental Association via e-mail. Total 12,193 e-mails were distributed to dentists. 2,612 e-mails were opened, and 840 mails (32.2%) were received from respondents. The data was statically analyzed by chi-square test using SPSS(v. 12.0.1, SPSS Inc. Chicago, IL, USA). Male dentists among respondents was 79%. 60.3% of the respondents acquired their licences recently (1998-2007), and 77% practiced in private offices. 83.4% have acquired their knowledge through school lectures, conferences and seminars. For the Class II restorations, gold inlays were preferred by 65.7% of respondents, while direct composite resin restorations were used by 12.1 % amalgam users were only 4.4% of respondents. For the restorative technique, 74.4% of respondents didn't use rubber dam as needed. For the matrix. mylar strip (53.4%), metal matrix (33.8%) and Palodent system (6.5%) were used. 99.6% of respondents restored the Class II cavity by incremental layering. 합착용 복합레진시멘트로 합착한 Machinable Ceramic과 상아질 사이의 인장강도에 대한 실험적 연구

        조병훈 大韓齒科保存學會 1998 Restorative Dentistry & Endodontics Vol.23 No.1

The purpose of this study is to observe the corrosion characteristcs of four dental amalgams(CAULK FINE CUT, CAULK SPHERICAL, DISPERSALLOY, TYTIN) and to determine a function of chloride concentration through the anodic polarization curve obtained by using a potentistat. After each amalgam alloy and Hg being triturated, the triturated mass was inserted into the cylinderical metal mold, and condensed by hydrolic pressure. Each specimen was removed from the metal mold. 24 hours after condensation, specimens were polished with the emery paper and stored at room temperatrue for 6 months. The anocid polarization curves were employed to compare the corrosion behaviours of the amalgam in KCI and KCI-NaCI solution, which had chloride concentration of 0.4 g/l, 0.8 g/l, 1.2 g/l, and 1.6 g/l at 37℃ with 3-electrode potentiostat. After the immersion of specimen in electrolyte for 1 hour, the potential scan was begun. The potential scan range was 1500mV~+800mV(vs. S.C.E.) in the working electrode and the scan rate was 50mV/sec. The results were as follows. 1. The corrosion potential, the potential of anodic current peak, and transpassive potential in the solution of high chloride concentration shifted to more cathodic direction than those in thd solution of low concentration, and the current density in the solution of high chloride concentration was hifher than that in the solution of low concentration. 2. The corrosion potential, the potential of anodic current peak, and transpassive potential for CAULK FINE CUT amalgam were the most cathodic among the others, and the current density were the highest among the others. 3. In the solution of low chloride concentration, the corrosion potential, the potential of anodic current peak, and transpassive potential for DISPERSALLOY were the most anodic among the others, however in the solution of high chloride concentration, those for TYTIN were the most anodic among the others. 4. The anodic polarization curve for CAULK SPHERICAL was similar to that for high copper amalgams.

        조병훈,이명종,임미경,이광원,손호현 大韓齒科保存學會 1997 Restorative Dentistry & Endodontics Vol.22 No.2

To compare the marginal leakage of CAD/CAM-fabricated ceramic inlay, gold inlay and amalgam, forty extracted caries-free premolars were prepared with Class Ⅱ MO cavity design. The teeth were divided into four groups of ten samples each. Group 1 was restored with CAD/CAM-fabricated ceramic inlays cemented with Scotchbond Resin Cement / Scotchbond Multi-purpose plus. Group 2 was restored with gold inlays cemented with Scotchbond Resin Cement / Scotchbond Multi-purpose plus. Group 3 was restored with gold inlays cemented with zinc phosphate cement. And, Group 4 was restored with amalgam. All samples were thermocycled, and stored in 1% methylene blue. Marginal leakage was examined at four margins, that is, occlusal distal, priximal gingival, occlsal facial and occlusal lingual margins from sectioned samples under steeomicroscope(x15). The results were as follows: 1. Group 1 and 2 showed no statistically significant difference among marginal leakage at all four examined margins(p>0.05). 2. Group 3 and 4 showed significant marginal leakage at proximal gingival margin compared with other margins(p<0.05). 3. Significantly increased marginal leakage at priximal gingival, occlusal facial and occlusal lingual margins in group 3 were observed compared with other groups(p<0.05).
