        Far infrared radiation of Jade used in sauna system system was studied. To study far infrared radiation properties of Jade, composition of Jade was analyzed, and X-ray diffraction(XRD), thermal analysis(DTA/TG), scanning electron micro scope(SEM), thermography were used. Chemical composition of starting materials was mainly composed of SiO2(40.10%) and MgO(37.1%). The chemical structure was antigorite(3MgO · 2SiO2 · 2H2O) by X-ray diffraction. The weight loss of Jade was 12.45% by thermal analysis at the temperature range of 25°C~1,450℃. SiO2 was transformed to β-tridymite from β-quartz by temperature increase. The effect of far infrared radiation was observed by photo thermography. We found that the far infrared radiation energy (W/m<sup>2</sup> · ㎛ · °C) was 3.74×102 and radiation rate (5~20㎛) of Jade was 0.93.
