        임목폐기물의 현장 재활용을 위한 퇴비화기술

        The main purpose of this study is as follows: Finding a solution for fresh wood chips to be used as an alternative growing-media through a study of the formation method of a compost base that is applicable on both construction site and composting factory to ferment fresh wood chips produced from construction site as well as a study on adjuvant or secondary materials. The result from the experiment plot using wood chips sized 50mm or less, manure and fertilizer mixed manure as a source of nitrogen to compost fresh wood chips has shown that the temperatures 9days and 3days after the beginning of the experiment reached to 49.0℃ and 40.4℃ respectively, the heating duration was 7days and 4days respectively, and the C/N ratio was 26.5 and 25.3, each satisfying the standard for composted manure (25.0~40.0). Also, the other result from another experiment plot using mixture of sandy soil and microorganism as an inoculation source of microorganism has shown that the temperature 10days after the beginning of the experiment reached to 67.6℃ and lasted 16days. The experiment plot using sandy soil has shown the highest figure of 5.3×108 CFU/g in terms of number of microorganism. The result from the experiment plots for on-site composting of fresh wood chips have shown that the experiment plot that used sandy soil with fertilizer due to supply restriction of manure as a nitrogen source in construction site reached the high temperature of 54.7℃ after 3days of experiment beginning and maintained heating state for 17days and reached 30.6 of C/N ratio, satisfying the standard for composted manure.

        굴절교정술 후 건성안의 유병률 및 술 후 건성안 발생의 위험인자

        목적: 굴절교정술 후에 발생하는 건성안의 유병률 및 위험인자를 알아보고자 하였다. 대상과 방법: 2010년 3월부터 2014년 2월까지 삼성서울병원 안과에서 굴절교정술을 시행받은 98명, 180안의 의무기록을 후향적으로 분석하였다. 눈물막 파괴시간(tear break-up time)이 5초 미만이거나 안구표면 염색 점수(Oxford stain score)가 2점 이상인 경우를 건성안이라 정의하고, 술 후 건성안의 유병률을 알아보았다. 술 후 건성안군과 술 후 정상안군 간의 차이를 보이는 술 전 인자(인구학적 요인, 술 전 이학적 검사, 수술요인)들을 파악하고, 이를 바탕으로 술 후 건성안 발생의 위험인자들을 분석하였다. 결과: 굴절교정술 후 건성안의 유병률은 62.2%였다. 술 후 정상안군에 비해 술 후 건성안군에서 유의하게 여성의 비율이 높았고 (p=0.016), 연령이 많았으며(p=0.001), 각막 두께가 얇았다(p=0.002). 굴절교정술 후 건성안 발생의 위험 인자에 대하여 분석하였을 때, 술 전 건성안(odds ratio [OR]=9.02, confidence interval [CI]=3.8-21.4)이 수술 후 건성안 발생의 가장 강력한 위험인자로 나타났고, 연령의 증가(OR=1.06, CI=1.01-1.11) 또한 독립적인 수술 후 건성안 발생의 위험인자로 나타났다. 결론: 연령이 증가할수록, 그리고 굴절교정술 전에 건성안이 있을수록, 술 후 건성안 발생의 위험도가 더 증가하는 것으로 확인되었다. 건성안을 동반한 고령의 환자에서 굴절교정술을 시행할 경우, 굴절교정술 후 건성안 발생에 대한 주의 깊은 관찰 및 평가가 필요할 것으로 생각된다. <대한안과학회지 2017;58(7):782-787> Purpose: To assess the prevalence and the risk factors of dry eye disease after refractive surgery. Methods: A retrospective study was performed on 180 eyes of 98 patients based on medical records. Those who had tear break-up time less of than 5 seconds or had an Oxford stain scale equal to or greater than 2 were defined to have dry eye disease. We analyzed the prevalence of dry eye, compared demographic and clinical features of the dry eye group and normal group, and found risk factors of dry eye after refractive surgery. Results: The prevalence of postoperative dry eye was 62.2%. Compared to the normal eye group, the dry eye group had a significantly higher proportion of women (p = 0.016), older age (p = 0.001), and thin cornea (p = 0.002). The most significant risk factor of dry eye after refractive surgery was presence of dry eye before refractive surgery (odds ratio [OR] = 9.02, confidence interval [CI] = 3.8-21.4). Old age was also found to be an independent risk factor of dry eye after refractive surgery (OR = 1.06, CI = 1.01-1.11). Conclusions: The risk of dry eye after refractive surgery was increased in older age and preoperative dry eye disease. In order to prevent post-refractive surgery dry eye, caution should be exercised in middle aged patients with preoperative dry eye disease. J Korean Ophthalmol Soc 2017;58(7):782-787

        저선량 감마선 조사 마우스의 말초면역 세포에 대한 바나듐 함유, 제주 워터의 면역 활성 효과

        Vanadium, a dietary micronutrient, has been reported to present interesting biological and pharmacological properties, including superoxide and nitric oxide scavenging effects. Low-dose ionizing radiation (LDR) is known to damage DNA and cause apoptosis of peripheral immunocytes by producing reactive oxygen species (ROS). The aim of this study was to elucidate the capacity of immune activation of Jeju water containing vanadium on immunosuppression caused by LDR. We examined the ROS production, DNA damage, cell apoptosis and proliferation of peripheral immunocytes in irradiated mice drinking different concentrations for 90 days; V0 (vanadium 0㎍/L, control), V1 (vanadium 15~20㎍/ L) and V2 (vanadium 20∼25㎍/L). Compared to V0 control where level of ROS showed tendency to increase, the ROS production was attenuated in peripheral immunocytes of irradiated mice drinking V1 and V2. DNA damage of peripheral immunocytes triggered by LDR significantly increased in mice drinking V0 compared to non-irradiated control, whereas V1 and V2 dramatically induced remission of DNA damage. On the observation of apoptosis of peripheral immunocytes, V1 and V2 showed the potency to reduce the number of apoptotic cells. On the other hand irradiated mice drinking V0 exhibited raised number of apoptotic cells. From the results obtained, we speculated that Jeju water containing vanadium (V1 and V2) has a potential role in decreasing DNA damage and apoptosis of immune cell by inhibiting ROS production. Consistent with this, Jeju water containing vanadium (V1 and V2) exhibits a capacity to enhance cell proliferation of peripheral immunocytes, which is suppressed by LDR as shown in V0 control. Collectively, Jeju water containing vanadium reduced DNA damage and apoptosis and induced the stimulatory potential on immunocytes. Theseresults suggest that Jeju water containing vanadium sustained immune activities under immunosuppression caused by LDR.

        장결핵의 임상적 고찰

        Intestinal tuberculosis is an infectious disease which is still prevalent in the developing countries including Korea. It may occur insidously, have a vague clinical marofestation, and take a chronic course. We have analyzed 101 cases of intestinal tuberculosis. proven by clinical and histopathologic diagnosis for 10yrs since 1977. The results are as follows: 1) Intestinal tbc was prevalent in the age of 20-30 and the male to female ratio was 1:1.7. 2) Among clinical manifestations, abdominal pain, and tenderness, general malaise and abdominal mass were observed in order of frequency. 3) Active pulmonary lesion was associated in 73 cases (73.3%). 4) Ileocecal region was the most frequent site of involvement in barium study and in colonoscopy. 5) The most frequent colonoscopic finding was multiple ulceration and pseudopolyposis and chronic granulomatous inflammation was noted in 58% on hitopathology. 6) Ulcerative type was the most common type 45.4% by intestinal x-ray and colonofiberscopic examination
