        한강의 대표적 하천에 서식하는 참갈겨니 (Zacco koreanus)의 물리적 서식조건에 관한 연구

        In order to establish fundamental data for stream restoration and environmental flow, we investigated physical habitat conditions of Korean chub (Zacco koreanus) in the typical streams of Han River. Field monitoring including fish sampling was conducted from September 2008 to April 2010. A total number of fish caught in the 8 sites was 3,421 representing 8 families 31 species, and 17 species (54.8%) including Korean shinner (Coreoleuciscus splendidus) and Z. koreanus were Korean endemic species during the study period. The most frequently found species in number was pale chub (Z. platypus, 25.7%) followed by Z. koreanus (22.8%) and Microphysogobio longidorsalis (16.8%). Numbers of Z. Koreanus ranged from 8 to 10 cm of total length were the highest in size distribution of their population in all sites. They were widely found in ranges of flow velocity (0.2~0.9 m/sec, 89.6%), water depth (0.3~0.9 m, 91.6%), and different types of substrates except for silt, and they tended to prefer run (58.1%) and riffle (33.7%) with cobble bed (47.0%) microhabitat. Most of upper streams in Korea consist of riffles and runs that are repeatedly followed by another one. However, stream channelization and leveling have caused reduction of habitat diversity. Therefore, it is necessary to make an effort on stream rehabilitation with evaluation of physical habitat condition by indicator species in order to maintain biodiversity and perform ecological restoration.

        고수온에 따른 잉어(Cyprinus carpio)의 혈장 코티졸 농도 변화

        잉어, Cyprinus carpio를 대상으로 고수온 스트레스 발생 시 코티졸 호르몬 변화 및 누적 사망률을 조사하였다. 수온 변화에 따른 20℃, 24℃ 및 28℃ 실험군의 코티졸 변화는 수온 변화 후 6시간에 코티졸 함량이 증가하다가 24시간 이후부터 감소하여 20℃ 및 24℃ 실험군은 실험 전의 코티졸 함량에 가까운 수치로 감소하였다. 48시간의 28℃ 실험군 코티졸 함량은 실험 전의 코티졸 함량보다 높았으나 24시간의 코티졸 함량보다는 유의한 차이를 보이며 감소하였다. 반면, 32℃ 실험군은 수온 변화 후 6시간부터 코티졸 함량이 증가하여 24시간에 코티졸 함량이 최대치로 증가하였으며 48시간까지 코티졸 함량이 감소하지 않고 유지되는 경향이 나타났다. 20℃, 24℃ 및 28℃ 실험군은 수온 변화 후 12시간까지 누적 사망률이 증가하다가 그 이후부터 사망하는 개체가 발생하지 않았으나, 32℃ 실험군은 실험 종료 시(48시간)까지 지속적으로 누적 사망률이 증가하는 경향이 나타났다. 본 연구로 도출된 결과를 이용하여 호르몬 분석을 통해 특정지역의 폐사 위험 정도를 확인할 수 있는 방안으로 활용 가능할 것이다. The changes of plasma cortisol concentration to high water temperature on common carp, Cyprinus carpio were studied. 20℃, 24℃ and 28℃ groups showed significantly increased plasma cortisol levels until 6 hours, and decreased plasma cortisol levels after 24 hours. Cortisol levels of 20℃ and 24℃ groups decreased to values close to the cortisol content before the experiment. However, 32℃ group showed significantly increased plasma cortisol levels until 24 hours, and maintained plasma cortisol level until 48 hours. The Cumulative mortality rates of 20℃, 24℃ and 28℃ groups increased until 12 hours, and maintained until 48 hours. Cumulative mortality rate of 32℃ group increased continuously until the end of the experiment. Using the results of this study, it could be used as a method to confirm the risk of mass perish in a specific area through hormone analysis.

      • 초강천에서 어류의 최적 생태유량 산정

        하천복원과 환경유량을 위한 기초자료를 확립하고자 금강수계의 초강천에서 생물학적 건강성 및 최적 생태유량에 대하여 조사하였다. 출현한 어종은 총 9과 36종 4,669개체였으며, 잉어과가 66.7%(24종)로 가장 높았다. 참갈겨니가 1,588개체로 34.0%로 우점종이었으며, 아우점종은 피라미로 22.6%, 우세종은 쉬리 13.3%로 나타났다. IBI와 QHEI는 상류로부터 하류로 내려갈수록 값이 감소하는 것으로 나타났으며, IBI 값은 27.9~38.6으로 평균 32.2로 양호상태를 나타냈다. 참갈겨니, 쉬리 및 감돌고기에 대하여 서식도적합도지수(HSI) 및 최적 생태유량을 산정하였다. 참갈겨니의 경우, 유속과 수심의 HSI 값은 각각 0.1~0.4 m/s와 0.2~0.4 m 였다. 감돌고기는 유속이 0.2~0.5 m/s, 수심이 0.4~0.6 m 및 하상재료가 가는자갈~호박돌로 나타났다. 이를 기초로 하여 각 지점의 최적 생태유량은 하류로 내려갈수록 값이 증가하는 것으로 나타났으며, 이에 따라서 WUA 값도 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. In order to establish fundamental data for stream restoration and environmental flow, we investigated optimal ecological flowrate (OEF) and riverine health condition in the Chogang Stream, a tributary to Geum River, Korea. The number of fish individuals sampled in this period were 4,669 in 36 species of 9 families. The most abundant species was Korean chub (Zacco koreanus, 34.0%) followed by pale chub (Z. platypus, 22.6%) and Korean shinner (Coreoleuciscus splendidus, 13.3%). Index of biological integrity (IBI) and qualitative habitat evaluation index (QHEI) values decreased from upstream to downstream along the stream. The estimated IBI value ranged from 27.9 to 38.6 with average 32.2 out of 50, rendering the site ecologically fair to good health conditions. OEF was estimated by the physical habitat simulation system (PHABSIM) using the habitat suitability indexes (HSI) of three fish species Z. koreanus, C. splendidus and Pseudopungtungia nigra selected as indicator species. In Z. koreanus, HSI for flow velocity and water depth were estimated at 0.1 to 0.4 m/s and 0.2 to 0.4 m, respectively. In P. nigra, HSI for flow velocity, water depth and substrate size were estimated at 0.2 to 0.5 m/s and 0.4 to 0.6 m and fine gravel to cobbles, respectively. OEF values increasing from up to downstream was found to increase, weighted usable area (WUA) values increased accordingly.

        횡성댐 상,하류의 어류군집 구조와 최적 생태유량 산정

        In this study, a comprehensive field monitoring was conducted to understand habitat conditions of fish species in up and downstream of Hoengseong Dam. Based on the monitoring data, riverine health conditions such as composition ratio of fish species, bio-diversity (dominance index, diversity, evenness and richness), index of biological integrity (IBI) and qualitative habitat evaluation index (QHEI) were assessed, and optimal ecological flowrates (OEF) were estimated using the habitat suitability indexes (HSI) established for three fish species Coreoleuciscus splendidus, Pungtungia herzi and Microphysogobio longidorsalis selected as icon species using the physical habitat simulation system (PHABSIM). The total number of species sampled was 20 species, and two species of Zacco platypus (30.4%) and C. splendidus (20.9%) dominated the fish community. As a result, it was revealed that IBI and QHEI values decreased from upstream to downstream along the river. The estimated IBI value ranged from 24 to 36 with average being 30.9 out of 50, rendering the site ecologically fair to good health conditions. HSI for C. splendidus were determined according to three different month in terms of season: Spring (April), Summer (August) and Autumn (October). HSI for flow velocity were estimated at 0.7 to 0.8 m/s for the Spring, 0.5 to 1.0 m/s for the Summer and 0.8 to 0.9 m/s for the Autumn. HSI for water depth were estimated at 0.3 to 0.5 m for the Spring; 0.3 to 0.5 m for the Summer; and 0.3 to 0.4 m for the Autumn. OEF was estimated at 4.2 and 6.5 m3/s for the Spring and Autumn, and 12.0 m3/s for the Summer. Overall, it was concluded that the Hoengseong Dam has been relatively well protected from the anthropogenic disturbance for the legally protected species including the endemic species studied in this study.

        금강유역의 어류상과 서식지 적합도 지수 산정

        금강수계에서 어류상과 서식지 적합도 지수(HSI: habitat suitability indexes)를 산정하기 위하여 2007년 10월부터 2009년 3월까지 23개 지점을 선정하여 어류 채집을 실시하였다. 이를 바탕으로 어류상, 상대풍부도 및 생물다양도 등을 포함한 하천의 건강성 평가를 실시하고, 우점종에 대하여 서식지 적합도 지수를 산정하였다. 모든 지점에서 채집된 어류는 총 11과 50종 6188개체였다. 한국고유종은 감돌고기(Pseudopungtungia nigra) 및 각시붕어(Rhodeus uyekii) 등 21종(42%)이 출현하였다. 출현어종중 개체수 구성비가 가장 높은 종은 피라미(Zacco platypus)로 34.3%를 차지하였고, 다음은 참갈겨니(Z. koreanus) 10.2%, 쉬리(Coreoleuciscus splendidus) 8.4% 등의 순으로 나타났다. 대부분 지점에서 우점종으로 나타난 피라미(Z. platypus)의 서식지 적합도 지수는 수심 0.1~0.9m, 유속 0~0.9m/s 및 하상재료 실트(<0.1mm)~호박돌(100.0~300.0mm)로 나타났다. 본 조사결과 금강수계 23개 지점에서 한국고유종 및 멸종위기종이 다수 출현하는 것으로 조사되어 보존 및 보호대책이 필요하다. We assessed fish fauna and habitat suitability indexes in the Geum river basin. Field monitoring was conducted for ecological and habitat condition assessment at 23 sites from October 2007 to March 2009. The habitat suitability indexes established for dominant fish species using the monitoring data were employed to assess riverine health conditions such as composition ratio of fish species, richness and dominance indexes, bio-diversity(dominance index, diversity, evenness and richness), and water depth, velocity and substrate size. Twenty-one species(42%) including Rhodeus uyekii and Pseudopungtungia nigra were found endemic out of the 50 species in 11 families sampled during this study period. The most frequently found one was Zacco platypus(34.3%) followed by Z. koreanus(10.2%) and Coreoleuciscus splendidus(8.4%). For Z. platypus, the dominant fish species in the basin, the favored habitat conditions were estimated to be 0.1~0.9 m for water depth, 0~0.9m/s for flow velocity and silt(<0.1mm)~cobbles(100.0~300.0mm) for substrate size, respectively. Overall, it was concluded that the Geum river basin has been relatively well protected from the anthropogenic disturbance for the legally protected species including the endemic species studied in this study.

        한강수계 달천의 어류상과 물리적 서식지 조건에 관한 연구

        하천복원과 환경유량을 위한 기초자료를 확립하고자 한강수계중 달천에서 어류상, 군집구조 및 물리적 서식조건을 2008년 9월부터 2009년 11월까지 조사하였다. 5개지점을 선정하여 실시된 어류 채집결과 총 9과 35종 2,089개체가 포획되었으며, 이중 한국고유종은 줄납자루 및 참종개를 포함하는 총 19종(54.3%)이 출현하였다. 출현어종중 개체수 구성비가 가장높은 종은 피라미로 30.3%를 차지하였고, 다음은 쉬리 18.0%, 참갈겨니 13.0 등의 순으로 나타났다. 어류군집은 상류로부터 하류로 내려갈수록 어종수가 증가되는 것으로 나타났으며, 생물다양도는 양호상태를 나타내었다. 집괴분석은 0.63 수준에서 2개의 그룹으로 나누어졌다. 우리나라 대부분 상류하천은 여울과 유수역이 반복되면서 이어지는 형태를 보여주고 있으나, 무분별한 하천사업 및 직강화·수로화 공사로 인해 하천의 서식지 다양성이 계속 감소되고 있는 추세이다. 따라서 생물다양성을 유지하고 생태적 하천복원을 위해서는 각 어종에 대한 물리적 서식 조건을 자세하게 파악하여 서식지 조성에 필요한 노력을 해야 할 것이다. In order to establish fundamental data for stream restoration and environmental flow, we investigated fish fauna, community and physical habitat conditions in the Dal Stream of Han River Basin. Field monitoring including fish sampling was conducted from September 2008 to October 2009. A total number of fish caught in the 5 sites was 2,080 representing 9 families 35 species, and 19 species (54.3%) including Acheilognathus koreensis and Iksookimia koreensis were Korean endemic species during the study period. The most frequently found species in number was pale chub (Zacco platypus, 25.7%, n=632) followed by Coreoleuciscus splendidus (18.0%, n=375) and Z. koreanus (13.0%, n=272). The lower reach of Dal Stream was more abundance of species, high diversity, evenness and richness, and lower dominance index than those of the upper reach. According to the dendrogram established at 0.63 level of similarity rate, sampling stations were divided into 2 groups. Most of upper streams in Korea consist of riffles and runs that are repeatedly followed by another one. However, stream channelization and leveling have caused reduction of habitat diversity. Therefore, it is necessary to make an effort on stream rehabilitation with evaluation of physical habitat condition by indicator species in order to maintain biodiversity and perform ecological restoration.

        양식장에서 사육하는 메기 (Silurus asotus)의 산소소비 및 암모니아 배설에 미치는 소음진동 영향

        진동 스트레스에 따른 양식 메기 (Silurus asotus)의 산소소비량 및 암모니아 배설량을 분석하였다. 연구에 사용된 메기의 평균전장은 22.9 ± 0.9 cm (± SD, n = 30), 평균체중은 100.7 ± 11.7 g (± SD, n = 30) 이었다. 진동 자극은 특수 제작한 진동기를 이용하여 48, 58 및 68 dB (V)이었으며, 이때의 소음은 77.6 ± 1.8 dB (A) 크기를 주었다. 진동은 타임머를 이용하여 주간(08:00-18:00)에 15분 간격으로 11일간 계속하여 스트레스를 가하였다. 메기의 산소소비량 변화는 58 dB (V) 그룹에서 진동 후 1, 5, 9 및 11일째에 각각 21.8, 30.2, 36.0 및 53.2% 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 68 dB (V) 그룹에서는 1, 7, 및 11일째에 각각 22.7, 35.1 및 57.7% 감소하였다. 48, 58 및 68 dB 그룹에서 진동 자극 경과일수(D)에 따른 식은 각각 직선식으로 OC=0.374D + 90.762 (r² = 0.048), OC = -3.581D + 89.520 (r² = 0.831) 및 OC = -4.109D + 90.907 (r² = 0.884)이었다. 암모니아 배설량은 48, 58 및 68 dB (V) 그룹에서 진동후 1일째에 각각 34.8, 51.8 및 63.2% 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 48 및 58 dB (V) 그룹은 진동 3일째부터 11일째까지 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 반면 68 dB (V) 그룹은 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 및 11일째에 진동전(0일째)과 비교하여 유의하게 감소한 것으로 나타났다. 진동 48 dB, 58 dB 및 68 dB에서의 진동 경과 일수에 대한 암모니아배설량 감소율은 직선식으로 각각 AE=-1.646D + 115.915 (r²=0.265), AE = -8.230D + 122.132 (r² = 0.750) 및 AE = -7.086D + 123.690 (r² = 0.614)로 나타났다. The main objective of this investigation was to examine oxygen consumption and ammonia excretion within cultured catfish, Silurus asotus (22.9 ± 0.9 cm, 100.7 ± 11.7 g n = 30) by noise and vibration stress in aquaculture farm. The vibration of 48, 58 and 68 dB (V) and noise of 77.6 ± 1.8 dB (A) from an electric vibrator was turned on for 15 minutes during each hour each day(0800-1800) for 11 days experimental period. The oxygen consumption (OC) of S. asotus the beginning of the experiment (0 day) in 58 dB group after 1, 5, 9 and 11 days was decreased 21.8, 30.2, 36.0 and 53.2%, respectively. In 68 group after 1, 7 and 11 days was decreased 22.7, 35.1 and 57.7%, respectively. The OC decreased exponentially and the relationship between them was expressed as OC = 0.374D + 90.762 (r² = 0.048) at 48 dB, OC = -3.581D + 89.520 (r² = 0.831) at 58 dB and OC = -4.109D + 90.907 (r² = 0.884) at 68 dB. Ammonia excretion (AE) of the beginning of the experiment in 48, 58 and 68 groups after 1 day was increased by 34.8, 51.8 and 63.2%, respectively, but it was decreased significantly from 3 to 11 days. The AE increased exponentially and the relationship between them was expressed as AE = -1.646D + 115.915 (r² = 0.265) at 48 dB, AE = -8.230D + 122.132 (r² = 0.750) at 58 dB and AE = -7.086D + 123.690 (r² = 0.614) at 68 dB.
