This is an analysis of the robust stability for a linearized boiler model which has parametric perturbations. Since the perturbed plant is regarded as an interval plant, Kharitonov-like robust stability analysis methods can be used in analysis. Using Bode, Nyquist and Nichols envelopes of the plant, the robust stability of the linearized model is validated.

A new approach method to design of optimal PID controllers for the 2nd-order plant systems is proposed. Shows processes of solving optimization problems through conversions and derivatives of performance criteria without using mathmatical programming techniques. The validity is examined by numerical simulations.

The pseudo-plant contains a model whose order is determined by the controller order. The given plant is identified by a higher order identifier, and then reduced to the controller order by means of the singular perturbation concept. The plant, the chosen model, and a filter constitute the pseudo-plant. For the implementation of the adaptive controller, a design guideline of the filter is proposed. As the plant model is chosen by a reliable procedure, choosing the filter to have the same frequency characteristics of the chosen model might be a good policy. Simulation results show the effectiveness fo proposed method.

실제의 입출력 신호에 대한 적응제어 알고리즘의 직접적인 적용은 좋은 방식이 아니며, 플랜트의 추정과 제어에 여러 가지의 필터를 사용할 필요가 있다. 간단한 선필터 방식과 의사모형 방식을 도입하였으며, 각 방식의 특성을 분석, 비교하여, 필터의 선택과 설계에 대한 지침을 제안하였다.

This is a trial to find out quantitative relations of EEG signals and EMG signals based on systems theory. This paper shows that relations between some EEGs and EMGs can be modelled as linear transfer functions approximately, and the model may be used as a quantitative criterion for motor learning processes. This kind of method of analysis will be useful for the clinical decision making for the patient with motor dysfunction and for the evaluating the effect of motor learning of physical therapy.

This paper tries to evaluate the control performance of systems in cases parameter perturbations. Six cases of the root distribution and location changes of each characteristic roots by the parameter perturbation are considered as evaluation factors. A qualitative evaluation is performed through several simulations. These results will be used as a basic data for the complete analysis of the control performance.

In this paper, color display system is designed to correct the vowels of Korean deaf by pitch and vocal tract length normalized first 3 formant frequencies. Six vowels are determined by Bay's classifier and vocal tract length is estimated by minimizing the area function using the formant frequencies and bandwidth simultaneously. Pitch is extracted by CC-AMDF method and formant frequencies are calculated by solving the roots of linear predictive coefficients.

As the worst performance case analysis for interval plants, a conjecture whether the supremum of the integral of square error is attained at extreme points such as vertices, Kharitonov vertices, CB segments, and/or edges has been suggested and investigated. We present a sufficient condition on that the worst performance index may occur at the one of vertices in the uncertain parameter space. Numerical examples are also given.
