        600MPa급 TRIP강의 $CO_2$ 및 Nd:YAG 레이저 용접부의 특성

        The characteristics of $CO_2$ or Nd:YAG laser welded 600MPa ade TRIP steel was investigated. He or Ar gas was used as a shield gas in case of $CO_2$ laser welding, but the shield gas was not used in case of Nd:YAG laser welding. Bead on plate welding was performed with various welding conditions. Defects in the joints of both welding type occurred at 1.8m/min but were not observed over the welding speed of 2.1m/min in case of Nd:YAG laser welding. However, porosity occurred in $CO_2$ laser welding and the tendency of decreasing with the increase of welding speed. The hardness was the highest at heat affected zone near fusion zone as well as at the fusion zone and decreased on approaching the base metal. In a perpendicular tensile test to the weld line, all specimens that have been welded at optimum conditions were fractured at the base metal, and the tensile properties showed the rather higher than those of raw material. In a parallel tensile test, the strength of the joints was higher than that of the base metal. Elongation was found to be lower than that of the raw material. Forming height by Erichsen test and elongation were deeply related with the ratio of base metal/weld metal and the maximum hardness of the weld metal. Also porosity induced to decrease the strength and the elongation. The maximum formability was recorded at approximately 80% as compared with that of the raw material with the optimum condition.

        The effect of welding speed on the weldability, microstructures, hardness, tensile property of Nd:YAG laser welding joint in 600MPa grade precipitation hardening high strength steel was investigated. A shielding gas was not used, and bead-on-plate welding was performed using various welding speeds at a power of 3.5kW. Porosity in the joints occurred at 1.8m/min, but were not observed over the welding speed of 2.1m/min. However, spatter occurred over the welding speed of 6.6m/min. The hardness was the highest at heat affected zone(HAZ) near fusion zone(FZ), and was decreased on approaching to the base metal. The maximum hardness increased with increasing welding speed. The microstructure of FZ was composed of coarse grain boundary ferrite and bainite(upper) but the HAZ near the FZ contained bainite(Lower) and fine ferrite at a low welding speed. With increasing welding speed, ferrite at the FZ and the HAZ became finely and upper binite changed to lower bainite. In a perpendicular tensile test to the weld line, all specimens were fractured at the base metal, and the tensile strength and the yield strength of joints was equal to those of raw material. Elongation was found to be lower than that of the raw material.

        The effect of shield gas on the weldability, mechanical properties and formability of CO2 laser weld joint in 600MPa grade high strength steel was investigated. Bead on plate welds were made under various welding speed and shield gas. Tensile test was carried out under the load of perpendicular and parallel direction to the weld line, Formability of the joint was evaluated by Erichsen test. As the welding speed increases, the porosity fraction decreases. The porosity fraction in the joint used Ar-$50\%He$ mixed gas as a shield gas was lower than that of the joint used Ar gas. Hardness at the weld metal of full penetrated joint was nearly equal to that of water quenched raw metal. In a tensile test under a perpendicular load to the weld axis, strength and elongation of joint produced by optimum condition were nearly equal to those of base metal. However, the strength of joint in a tensile test under a parallel load to weld axis was higher than that of raw metal, but the elongation of joint was lower than that of raw metal. Elongation and formability were further increased by the method of using Ar+He mixed gas as a shield gas as compared with Ar gas. Formabilities of joints were recorded ranging from $58\%\;to\;70\%$ of that of base metal with different shield gases.

        고Mn강과 저탄소강의 CO<sub>2</sub> 레이저 이종용접 특성

        High Mn steel has been developed for automotive applications since the steel has an excellent combination of strength and ductility. However, from the viewpoint of welding, high Mn steel has a few problems related to its chemical composition. This paper describes characteristics of dissimilar $CO_2$ laser welding for expanding application of high Mn steel. From this work it was cleared that dissimilar laser welded joint between high Mn steel and carbon steel had poor formability due to the formation of martensite within weld metal. In order to improve ductility of welded joint, the method of controlling the dilution ratio of high Mn steel was suggested.

        1GPa급 DP강 전기저항점용접부의 경도분포와 미세조직의 상관관계

        In this study, the effect of the welding current on the hardness characteristics and microstructure in the resistance spot welding of 1GPa grade cold-rolled DP steel was investigated, Also, correlation between the hardness and microstructure was discussed. In spite of the change in the welding current, the hardness distributions near weld was similar. the hardness in the HAZ and the fusion zone was higher than that of the base metal and the hardness in the fusion zone was variated with the location. Especially, the hardness of HAZ adjacent to the base metal showed maximum value, and softening zone in the base metal adjacent to HAZ was found. With the increasing of welding current, there were no difference in maximum hardness and average hardness in the fusion zone were, but the hardness of the softening zone reduced. The difference in the hardness in each location of weld due to grain size of prior austenite. The softening of the base metal occurred by tempering of the martensite.

        DP강의 전기저항점용접부 너깃직경에 미치는 Si 함량의 영향

        In this study, effect of Si content on nugget diameter in electric resistance spot welded dual-phase(DP) steel was investigated. The cold rolled DP steels with different Si content (0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 wt.%) were used and thickness of those sheet was 1.2mm. With increasing Si content, nugget diameter was increased at the same welding current. This is attributed to increase of heat input result from high resistivity. Also, nugget diameter was increased with an increase in Si content for the same heat input. For this reason, the melting point of DP steel is lowered with an increase in the Si content. And solid DP steel can easily be transformed to a liquid phase because the low melting point. Finally, a prediction formula for the nugget diameter(N.D.) could be obtained in terms of heat input(Q) and melting point(M.P) as follows: N.D.(mm) = 0.11Q(J) - 0.0031 M.P.($^{\circ}C$) + 0.32.

        초고온용 Zn-Al-Cu계 Pb-free 솔더 합금의 특성

        The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics of pb-free $Zn-(3\~6)\%Al-(1\~6)\%Cu$ solder alloys for ultra high temperature(>573K) which applied to air craft, space satellite, automotive, oil, gas well exploration and data logging of geo-thermal wells. Melting range, solderability, electric resistivity, microstructure and mechanical properties were examined with solder alloys casted in Ar gas atmosphere. $Zn-4\%Al-(1\~3)\%Cu,\;Zn-5\%Al-(2\~4)\%Cu\;and\;Zn-6\%Al-(3\~5)\%Cu$ alloys satisfied the optimum melting range of 643 to 673k for ultra high temperature solder. A melting temperature increased with increasing Cu content, but decreased with increasing Al content. The spreadability was improved with increasing hi content. But the content of Cu had no effect on the spreadability. The electric resistivity was lowered with increasing Al and decreasing Cu content. In all Zn-Al-Cu solder alloys, primary dendritic $\varepsilon$ phase(Zn-Cu), dendritic $\eta$ phase(Zn-Cu-Al), $\alpha(Al-Zn)-\eta$ eutectic and eutectoid phase were observed. The addition of Al increased the volume fraction of eutectic and eutectoid phase and it decreased f phases. Also, the addition of Cu increased slightly the volume fraction of e, the eutectic and eutectoid phases. With increasing total content of Al and Cu, a hardness and a tensile strength were linearly increased, but anelongation was linearly decreased.
