        자외선 차단능을 보유한 미세조류의 스크리닝

        Ultraviolet-B radiation (UV-B) in sunlight causes biological damages such as erythema and blister on skin. Microalgae have been in the limelight as an attractive feedstock for manufacturing functional materials. This study focused on screening microalga with protection ability against UV-B. The microalgae were isolated from local areas on April to June 2013 as well as June 2014. The cells were grown under continuous illumination from fluorescent lamps at $136.3{\pm}2.2{\mu}E/m^2/s$ in BG-11 medium at $15^{\circ}C$ for 12-14 days. The selected cells were spread on BG-11 agar and were exposed to UV-B (312 nm) for 20 and 25 minutes. The 13 strains among selected algae were classified. Among these, 9 strains were Scenedesmus sp. and the remains were Chlorella sp. Based on this study, it seems that Scenedesmus sp. and Chlorella sp. have resistibility against ultraviolet. These results will help to study on UV protection using microalgae.

        임상연구 : 거미막밑공간에 Bupivacaine과 혼합투여된 Midazolam의 감각차단 및 진정효과

        Background: The antinociceptive action of intrathecal midazolam is well documented and the administration of midazolam by centroneuraxis route has been shown to produce segmental antinociception. This study was designed to evaluate the duration of sensory block and BIS sedation score of intrathecal midazolam-bupivacaine mixture in patients undergoing knee arthroscopy. Methods: In this double-blind prospective study, one hundred twenty seven patinets were randomly assigned to receive 4.5 ml of one of the following intrathecal solutions: 15 mg of 0.5% isobaric bupivacaine plus 1.5 ml of 0.9% saline (Group C; n = 34); 15 mg of 0.5% bupivacaine plus 0.5 ml of 0.1% midazolam and normal saline 1 ml mixture (Group 0.5; n = 28); 15 mg of 0.5% bupivacaine plus 1 ml of 0.1% midazolam and normal saline 0.5 ml mixture (Group 1; n = 27); 15 mg of 0.5% bupivacaine plus 1.5 ml of 0.1% midazolam (Group 1.5; n = 38). Time of sensory block until L5-S1 level regression occurred and sedation score using BIS, duration of effective analgesia connecting IV-PCA pump, blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation and nausea/vomiting were recorded and observed. Results: A significantly longer sensory block duration was seen in group 0.5, 1, 1.5 patients compared with group C (P < 0.01). Correlation coefficent of midazolam dose and sensory block duration was 0.95. Duration of effective analgesia was also prolongated in midazolam-bupivacaine mixture groups (P < 0.01). Blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation and nausea/vomiting showed no differences among the groups. Sedation score was slightly decreased in only group 1.5, but not to the level of unconsciousness. Conclusions: The results suggest that addition of midazolam 1.5 mg to 0.5% bupivacaine intrathecally provided prolongation of sensory block without any adverse effects.         중의성 문장에서 단어 간 공백이 중국어 학습자의 독해에 미치는 효과

        Overlapping ambiguous strings refers to the words in which middle character can constitute words with the characters to both their left and right, such as “按时/装” and “按/时装”. This study investigated whether the inter-word space, a space between the words, can affect the efficiency in Chinese reading by Korean-speaking CSL (Chinese as a second language) learners with the eye tracking technique. CSL learners of different proficiency levels (intermediate and advanced) and native Chinese readers were asked to read Chinese sentences of overlapping ambiguous strings with and without inter-word spaces. The results showed that the inter-word space had a facilitating effect on Chinese sentences reading. The global analysis showed that despite the longer physical length of the sentences with inter-word space, both CSL and native readers spent significantly less reading time and had significantly less mean fixation duration when they read under spaced condition. The local analysis showed similar results that participants spent significantly less reading time and significantly less fixation count than the no space condition. Furthermore, the facilitating effects were similar among the CSL readers of different proficiency.

        단어 간 공백이 중국어 글 읽기에 미치는 영향

        본 연구에서는 단어 사이에 삽입된 공백이 중국어 모국어 화자와 한국인 학습자(초급, 중급, 고급)의 중국어 글 읽기에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대해 안구운동 추적을 통하여 살펴보았다. 참가자들에게 단어 사이에 공백을 삽입한 ‘공백 삽입’ 조건과 그렇지 않은 ‘공백 무삽입’ 조건의 평이한 중국어 문장을 읽도록 요구했다. 실험 결과, 문장 수준 분석에서 공백 삽입 조건이 공백 무삽입 조건에 비해 길이가 더욱 길어졌음에도 불구하고 두 조건의 문장 고정 횟수는 차이를 보이지 않았으며, 문장 독해 시간과 평균 고정 시간은 오히려 공백 삽입 조건이 더욱 짧았다. 단어 수준 분석에서 참가자들의 독해 시간과 고정 횟수가 모두 공백 무삽입 조건에 비해 공백 삽입 조건에서 더욱 적게 나타났다. 또한, 참가자들의 중국어 수준이 낮을수록, 독해 시간과 고정 횟수에서 두 조건의 차이가 더 큰 것으로 나타났다. 본 실험의 결과는 공백이 단어 재인과 문장 처리에 긍정적인 영향을 미치며, 이러한 영향은 중국어 수준이 낮을수록 크게 작용한다는 것을 보여준다. This research investigated whether inter-word spaces, the spaces between words, can affect the efficiency of Korean-speaking CSL(Chinese as a second language) learners in Chinese reading of Korean-speaking’s ability to read Chinese. Through eye movement tracking experiments, CSL learners of different proficiency levels(beginning, intermediate, and advanced) and native Chinese readers were asked to read Chinese sentences with and without inter-word spaces. The tests analysed the participants’ fixation counts and the time spent in reading each sentences and also between each words. In terms of the fixation counts and time spent between sentences, the results show that there were no significant difference in participants’ fixation counts from reading sentences with and without inter-word spaces. The results also prove that reading sentences with inter-word spaces significantly shortened the reading time for both CSL learners and native Chinese readers. Even for the participants’ fixation counts and time duration between each words, participants spent significantly less fixation counts and reading time while reading words with inter-word spaces. The results were more prominent and positive in tests conducted with CSL learners of lower proficiency. This research shows that inter-word spaces in Chinese texts can enhance the efficiency of chinese learners’ reading ability.

        중국어 교육에서 단어 간 공백이 한국인 학습자의 낭독에 미치는 효과

        The inter-word space is an important visual cue in Korean reading comprehension, which could improve both the efficiency of silent reading and the processing of oral reading. However, there’s no inter-word space in Chinese text as the boundary of words. This study discussed whether the inter-word space would affect the oral fluency and accuracy, and whether the effect would change with the Chinese proficiency. The experiment was a 2 (text type: no inter-word space text, text with inter-word spaces) × 2 (Chinese proficiency: beginner level of Korean learners, intermediate level of Korean learners, Chinese native speakers) mixed design. The participants were required to read the Chinese sentences with or without inter-word spaces loudly, and the sound were recorded with Cool Edit Pro software. The results showed: (1) the inter-word space didn’t affect the oral fluency of Chinese; (2) the inter-word space could improve the learners’ awareness of word boundary; (3) for the Korean Chinese learners, the less familiar with the Chinese word recognition, the less salience of the inter-word space effect on oral accuracy. 한국어 문장에 존재하는 공백은 독자가 문장 혹은 단락을 이해하는 아주 중요한 시각적 단서로, 묵독뿐만 아니라 낭독에도 매우 중요한 역할을 한다. 이와 반대로 중국어 문장에는 단어 경계를 나타내는 공백이 존재하지 않는다. 본 연구는 단어 간 공백이 낭독 유창성과 정확성에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지, 그 영향은 중국어 수준에 따라 다르게 나타나는지 고찰하였다. 실험은 2(제시 방식: 공백 무삽입, 공백 삽입) X 3(중국어 수준: 초급·중급 학습자, 모국어 화자) 이원혼합설계로 진행되었다. 참가자들에게 두 가지 제시 방식의 중국어 문장을 낭독하도록 요청하고, Cool Edit Pro 프로그램을 사용해 그 소리를 녹음하였다. 실험 결과, (1) 단어 간 공백은 참가자들의 낭독 유창성에 아무런 영향을 미치지 않았다. (2) 단어 간 공백은 한국인 학습자들의 단어 경계 인식을 제고시켰다. (3) 글자와 단어 식별이 익숙하지 않은 초급 학습자일수록 낭독 정확성에 대한 공백 효과가 뚜렷하게 나타나지 않았다.
