본 연구는 2012년 이후 2018년까지 한국에서 수행된 일본사 연구의 현황을 분석한 결과물이다. 한국의 일본사 연구는 연구자와 연구 성과의 양쪽 모두 꾸준한 성장세를 이어오고 있지만, 내부적으로 노정되고 있는 제반 문제의 해결 전망은 그리 밝지 않다. 먼저 연구자의 수는 1990년대 이후 지속적으로 증가세를 보이지만, 연구자의 주축은 50대남성이 점하고 있듯이 이른바 ‘고령화’ 현상이 가속화되고 있다. 연구 성과의 측면에서 보자면 1990년대 이후의 양적·질적 성장 곡선 자체는 큰 변화 없이 이어지고 있다. 한국의 역사학계에서 일본사 연구가 차지하는 비중과 위상은 착실히 증대되고 있으며, 관계사를 2배 정도 능가하는 일본사의 우위 또한 유지되고 있음이 확인되었다. 21세기 들어와서 증폭된 한일 간의 역사갈등은 관계사의 사회적 위상을 바꾸는 기폭제가 되었고, 관련된 연구 성과의 양산에 지대한 영향을 미쳤다. 연구자의 측면에서는 전통적인 고대사분야에 더해 근대사 연구자들이 사회적 수요에 발맞춰 관계사 연구에 대거 참가한 것도 특징적이며, 한국사 연구자들의 관계사 연구도 획기적으로 증진되었다. 이런 현실을 반영하듯 한국에서의 일본사 연구의 지향성은 한국사와의 ‘공조’에 힘입은 관계사 발전을 도약대로 삼아 동아시아사로 나아가려고 하는 것이 관찰된다. 마지막으로 일본사는 일본학의 다른 분야와의 공동 연구와 연계 강화를 그다지 시도하고 있지 않으며, 동아시아사로의 확장 쪽에 치중하고 있는 것으로 판단된다. This study examined the trend in Japanese history studies performed in South Korea from 2012 to 2018. Gradual growth in both academics and the results from Japanese history research in Korea has been observed, but several internal problems persist. First, the number of researchers has increased since the 1990s, but the average researcher is male in his 50s. From a performance perspective, there has been steady improvement in quantitative and qualitative aspects since the 1990s. Japanese history research still enjoys greater significance and status in the Korean history field, and when compared to historical relations, the number of related works doubles. Heightened historical disputes between South Korea and Japan have proven to be a tipping point for historical relations studies because they became the center of attention, which led to the publishing of more related articles. From a researcher’s standpoint, modern historians moved from traditional ancient history to historical relations to keep up with societal needs. Korean history researchers also took part in historical relations studies. The topic of Japanese history research tends to be heading towards East Asian history based on a coalition with Korean history studies. Lastly, Japanese history research lacks attempts to collaborate with the other fields within the realm of Japanese studies, thereby the focus is mainly on the expansion to East Asian history.

This paper presents a comparison study between simulation and experiment for fault diagnostics of a spur gear. In simulation, fault diagnostics using transmission error (TE) was performed and concluded to be valid. In a real experiment, however, it is not as easy to detect faults of gears using TE as in simulation. In this paper, after seeding the various faults like tooth crack of different length, tooth breakage and spalling in test rig, TE was calculated. Then, several signal processing techniques were performed to overcome the limitations of an experiment in detecting the fault signals of TE. After signal processing, we could detect the various faults of spur gears and different amplitude of TE sparks from cracks of different length. Then we discussed the difference between simulation and experment.

Transmission error (TE) is defined as “the angular difference between the ideal output shaft position and actual position”. As TE is one of the major source of the noise and vibration of gears, it is originally studied with relation of the noise and vibration of the gears. However, recently, with the relation of mesh stiffness, TE has been studied for fault detection of spur gear sets. This paper presents a physics-based theory on fault diagnostics of a planetary gear using transmission error. After constructing the lumped parameter model using DAFUL, multi-body dynamics software, we developed a methodology to diagnose the faults of the planetary gear including phase calculation, signal processing. Using developed methodology, we could conclude that TE could be a good signal for fault diagnostics of a planetary gear.

Knee bolster structure reducing driver’s femur load should be designed to get more than 5 star rating in US NCAP and satisfy FMVSS 208 during vehicle collision. However, although an optimal knee bolster design is applied by FE simulation, occupant’s femur load sometime exceeds safety criteria in sled test. One of dominant factors that make a difference between simulation and test is knee impact position. In reality, knee impact points of sled test could not be exactly coincident with that of FE simulation and have some distributions according to test environments. Therefore, it is necessary to consider a scattering of impact points of sled test. In this paper, a knee bolster design was derived by FE simulation which considered statistically knee impact position using EDR method which was very efficient and accurate for reliability analysis.
