Vol.13 No.5

Objective: This study purposed to provide implications in regards to the Moon Jae-in Administration that launched in May 2017. Three sectors of childcare polices on administration of childcare centers were reviewed in terms of supporting the healthy development of young children. Methods: Medium and long-term childcare plans and the main policies of previous administrations since 2004 when the Childcare Act was completely reformed, as well as the 'Five-year policy for the Moon Jae-in administration of state affairs' that was announced on July, 2017, were reviewed in terms of publicness of childcare, regulations on operation of childcare services, and customized childcare programs for diverse needs. Results: It was proposed that the concept of publicness of childcare should be conservative when focusing on public childcare centers. The regulations on operating childcare services should focus on improving structural dimensions of childcare quality to keep the well-being of children a top priority. Furthermore, diverse programs should be designed and implemented to satisfy changes in childcare surroundings and the various needs of children and their families. Conclusion/Implications: The Moon Jae-in administration is expected to outline childcare policies and carry out tasks under the new paradigm. The healthy development of young children should be embodied as the final goal that forms the vision of childcare policies based on publicness, rationality, and diversity.

        최혜영(Hye Yeong Choi),신혜영(Hae Young Shin) 한국아동학회 2011 아동학회지 Vol.32 No.2

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Penn Interactive Peer Play Scale (PIPPS) for Korean young children, with a special confirmative factor analysis. The participants were composed of 435 5-to 6-year-old children and their parents, and 42 teachers. The instruments included the 32-item exploratory PIPPS (Choi & Shin, 2008), the Preschool Behavior Questionnaire (PBQ; Park, 1992), and the PIPPS on parental reporting. The PIPPS was confirmed, and supported the following constructs resulting in the investigation of 3 factors, ``play disruption``, ``play interaction``, and ``play disconnection``, along with 30 items similar to the PIPPS (2008). Inter-correlations between the sub-factors of PIPPS with those of criterion measures were validated by ratings from the PBQ and the parent version of the PIPPS. The reliability coefficients of the sub-factors of the PIPPS ranged from .85 to .92. In conclusion, 3 factor structure of the PIPPS was appropriate to represent the interactive peer play of Korean young children.

최혜영 ( Hye Yeong Choi ),조성연 ( Song Yon Cho ),권연희 ( Yeon Hee Kwon ) 대한가정학회 2014 Human Ecology Research(HER) Vol.52 No.4

The purpose of this study was to investigate the influences of organizational culture and childcare teachers’ job satisfaction on their intention to change jobs. The participants of this study were 290 childcare teachers from the Busan and Gyeongnam areas. The instruments used in this study were the Organizational Culture Scale (4 factors with 16 items), Childcare Teacher’s Job Satisfaction Scale (6 factors with 40 items), and Childcare Teacher’s Intention to Change Jobs Scale (1 factor with 7 items). The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, one-way analysis of variance, Pearson’s product moment correlation, and stepwise multiple regression with SPSS ver. 21.0 software. The results were as follows: First, the higher childcare teachers’ intention to change jobs, the lower was their monthly income, age, and career level, and the total number of children that they had to serve. Second, there were significant positive correlations between childcare teachers’ intention to change jobs and their innovative, collective, and rational organizational culture. Further, there were significant negative correlations between childcare teachers’ intention to change jobs and hierarchical organizational culture. and between childcare teachers’ intention to change jobs and their job satisfaction. Finally, childcare teachers’ intention to change jobs was found to be 46% about job satisfaction and organizational culture and was explained the most by the director’s childcare center management. This study primarily suggests that a director’s role is important in the lowering of childcare teacher’s intention to change jobs.
