Electric Vehicles (EV) have a history more than one century and global warming rekindles the issues on EV. Hence, many EV models are available in the market. We have developed eleven electric trucks for city delivery services. Some of the key issues related on the development is discussed including road test results.

N/A Objectives: Pulsatile secretion of GH are present in acromegalics and normal men. GH concentration profiles in patients with acromegaly are characterized by rapid GH pulsatility and high interpulse concentrations. There is also variations of GH pulse frequency in individual acromegalic patients. We performed this study to investigate any correlation between GH pulse frequency and clinical or endocrinological findings. Material and Methods: We have studied pulse frequency in 18acromegalic patients by modified Santen and Bardin Method through blood sampling every 1hour for 24hours. TRH stimulation test, LHRH stimulaton test, Somatostatin suppression test and bromocriptine suppression test was done in this patients. We sequenced from cordon 184 to cordon 251 of Gsa gene in pituitary tumor tissue of this acromegalic patients. Clinical findings or endocrinological test results studied above matched to GH pulse frequency to find any correlation by simple regression analysis or Chi-square test. Results: There is no correlation between GH pulse frequency and age, sex, grade of tumor, size of tumor or GH fluctuations. We can not find any difference at incidence of gsp oncogene by pulse frequency of acromegalic patients. GH pulse frequency of acromegalic patients in our study did not identified any difference in paradoxical response to TRH or LHRH and % suppression of GH by somatostatin or bromocriptine. Conclusions: There is no correlation between GH pulse frequency and clinical or endocrinological test. This suggest that GH pulse frequency is not correlated with the expression of various hormone receptors such as dopamine receptor, TRH receptor, LHRH receptor and SSTR.

The effects of heavy metals on the growth and pigment content of green algae were examined. For heavy metals toxicity, C. reinhardtii 21 gr^+, cell wall mutant CW-15^- and Cd-tolerant population CW-15^r were used. These strains were exposed to the various concentration of CdCl₂ and CuSO₄, in a Tris-acetate phosphate medium. A CW -15^r which derived from a Cd-sensitive cell wall mutant CW-15^- shows that CdCl₂ toxicity was 7 times higher than that of CW-15^-. The 50% inhibition of cell growth and chlorophyll content for Chlamydomonas were found at Cd concentrations of about 60 μM, 400 μM for CW-15^-, CW-15^r and at Cu concentrations of 100 μM, 80 μM for 21 gr^+, CW-15^-, respectively. Results suggested that cell wall mutant Chlamydomonas is adjusted to survive in their harsh heavy metal environment.

In this paper, metal flow lines of a forged crankshaft are visualized using a rigid-thermoviscoplastic finite element method with a versatile scheme of visualizing metal flow lines formed during shape rolling from bloom to round bar. The importance of metal flow lines is also emphasized in terms of product quality and structural integrity. The variation of metal flow lines on various cross-sections with the stroke is shown in detail, emphasizing the importance of useful visualization capability to conduct successful process design of complicated hot forging processes.

The effects of herbicides on the growth and pigment content of green algae were examined. Chlamydomonas reinhardtii was exposed to herbicides (glyphosate, phosphinothricin, simazine, alachlor and 2,4-D) concentration ranging from 1.0 x 10^(-6)M to 1.0 x 10^(-2) M contained in a high salt minimal medium. With increasing concentration of herbicides, a significant decrease in the cell number, and pigment content was observed. EC_(50), the concentration at which growth rates were reduced to a half, were 3.73 x 10^(-5) M, 3.18 x 10^(-5) M, 6.53 x 10^(-5) M, 4.75 x 10^(-7) M and 1.05 x 10^(-2) M for glyphosate, phosphinothricin, simazine, alachlor and 2,4-D, respectively.

In this paper, finite element prediction of die wear is conducted using non-isothermal finite element analysis of an actual hot forging process for a commercialized crankshaft. The Archard wear model with a law of hybrid friction is utilized. The non-isothermal finite element method is employed and the predictions are also compared with isothermal finite element predictions with emphasis on the metal flow lines.

Kinetics for the inhibition of glutamine synthetase from Chlamydomonas reinhardtii by phosphinothricin (PPT) have been examined. Inhibition by PPT was competitive, and apparent Ki value of 7.0μM was determined. This value of Ki was similar to the other types of glutamine synthetase studied from the Escherichia coli and Asparagus sprengeri.
