본 논문은 혼합 $H_2/H_{\infty}$ 제어를 이용한 강인한 서보시스템의 설계법을 제안하고 이것을 3관성 벤치마크문제에 적용하여 이 방법의 유용성을 확인한다. 먼저 내부모델의 원리를 이용하여 혼합 $H_2/H_{\infty}$ 제어기법을 적용할 수 있는 구조를 제안하고 이 구조의 타당성을 검토한다. 다음에 강인한 서보시스템의 설계조건을 각각 $H_2$ 및 $H_{\infty}$의 설계사양으로 분리한 뒤 제안된 혼합 $H_2/H_{\infty}$ 설계법에 적용하여 설계를 LMI이론에 의하여 실행한다. 마지막으로 3관성벤치마크 문제에서 부가된 몇 가지의 사양을 제안된 혼합 $H_2/H_{\infty}$법에 맞도록 수정한 뒤 제어기의 설계를 통한 설계사양의 만족도를 확인한다. The purpose of this paper is to propose an approach to design a robust servo controller based on the mixed $H_2/H_{\infty}$ theory, and confirm its validity by applying to a benchmark problem. First, the existing $H_{\infty}$ servo problem is modified to a structure for the mixed $H_2/H_{\infty}$ control problem by virtue of the internal model principle. By making use of proposed structure, we can divide specifications required in the robust servo system design into $H_2$ and $H_{\infty}$ performance criteria, respectively. It is shown that the proposed design approach is quite effective through an application to a three inertia benchmark problem.

This study investigates the use of mixed $H_2$/$H^$\infty$$ and $\mu$-synthesis to construct a robust controller for the benchmark problem. The model treated in the problem is a coupled three-inertial system that reflects the dynamics of mechanical vibrations. This kind of problem requires to be satisfied the robust performance (both in the time and frequency-domain specifications). We, first, adopt the mixed $H_2$/$H^$\infty$$ theory to design a feedback controller K(s). Next, $\mu$-synthesis method is applied to the overall system to make use of structured parametric uncertainty. This process permits higher levels of controller authority and reduces the conservativeness of the controller. Finally, the feedforward controller is also used to improve the transient response of the output. We confirm that all design specifications except a complementary sensitivity condition can be achieved.

This paper is concerned with applicability of two-degree-of-freedom controllers to the recently suggested i-PID controllers, in which unknown parts of the plant are taken into account without any modeling procedure. First, i-PID controller with two-degree-of-freedom is applied to a specific model, called Anisochronic model, to confirm the usefulness of this method. Second, using the original examples of i-PID controllers, it is confirmed that performance/robustness of system are to be improved due to two-degree-of-freedom, especially when the input changes suddenly. It is seen that as the desired robustness increases the optimal value of two-degree-of-freedom parameter αA would be negative. It is checked and verified that if this value was limited to 1 or less as is generally known, performance would be degraded.
AVR(Automatic Voltage Regulator)시스템을 위한 PID형 제어기의 설계

This paper is concerned with applicability of a new type of controllers, called i-PID and GPI in which unknown parts of the plant are taken into account without any modeling procedure, to automatic voltage regulator (AVR) system. First, the procedure for applying i-PID and GPI algorithms to AVR system is proposed, which uses model reduction technique based on the given information of AVR. Second, simulations are given to verify their effectiveness comparing to various PID algorithms including PIDD2 which is four-term controller, that is, consisting of PID and second order derivative terms. Superior response performances of i-PID and GPI in comparison to conventional PID controllers are shown. Moreover, i-PID can highly improve the system robustness with respect to model uncertainties, especially to load variations.
A New Anti Sway Control for Container Crane Using PSD Camera and Propellers

The spreaders on container cranes are usually controlled to stop at the same time as their trolleys are stopped. Despite the use of adequate control systems, however, the spreaders usually have comparatively large sway movements, due to their suspension from the trolleys through cables. It is, therefore, important to accurately measure the attitudes of the spreaders, in order to suppress such sways by means of secondary control. Until now, most of conventional anti sway control systems focus on the direct control of the movements of .trolleys, which seems not suitable to speed up the entire process - loading and unloading of containers. In this paper, we suggest a new anti sway control system: By using extra equipments - two propellers to suppress the sway and a PSD camera to measure the spreader's attitude - installed on the spreader and the trolley, the sway of the suspended load is considerably suppressed. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is verified by the computer simulation and experiment with the miniature of the container crane system.

The issue of rejecting periodic disturbances arises in various applications dealing with rotating machinery. A new method using DIDF (Dual-Input Describing Function) is presented for the rejection of periodic disturbances with uncertain frequency. This can be added to an existing feedback control system without altering the closed-loop system stability. The objective is to design a nonlinear compensator to secure specified oscillation amplitude and frequency which are the same as disturbances. We suggest two procedures to determine coefficients for DIDF’s synthesis. The structure of the proposed DIDF is so simple that we can easily synthesize. A number of computer simulations were carried out to demonstrate the salient feature of the proposed DIDF compared to the conventional ones(that is, adaptive algorithms).
