Development of alternative testing methods for the replacement of hazardous reagents with less hazardous ones is strongly enforced because exposure of human and environment to hazardous reagents are restricted and hazardous reagents are gradually prohibited from using in various testing methods. Thus, in this study, we developed 8 monographs from the Korean Pharmaceutical Codex by substituting the use of the hazardous reagents including ICH class 1 such as benzene, chloroform and dioxane to the use of less toxic ones like ICH class 2 or 3 reagents. We also improved their qualification and quantification performance. Among 8 monographs, the 6 newly developed TLC methods for the identification of nifedipine, oxolamine citrate, ketoprofen lysinate, chlorquinaldol, retinol acetate, and riboflavin showed a clear spot of corresponding material without any interference in spite of the replacement with ICH class 2 or 3 reagents. For the quantification of domperidone and trimebutine, HPLC methods were developed for the substitution of UV/VIS spectrometry and titrimetry, respectively. These HPLC methods were validated for the linearity, recovery, reproducibility, and inter-laboratory variations. In conclusion, the newly developed methods could be expected to become valuable tools for revising the Korean Pharmaceutical Codex.

Despite the fact that the dissolution test can serve as an effective tool for drug quality control and prediction of in vivo drug performance, there are a number of drugs with no established dissolution specifications because they were developed quite a long time ago. Under this circumstances, KFDA started the new project that establishes dissolution method and specifications for drugs with no dissolution specifications listed in the Korea Pharmaceutical Codex (KPC). This project aims for promoting the appropriate management of oral solid dosage forms. Seoul regional KFDA selected 2 items, Nicametate citrate tablet and Norfloxacin capsule, for establishing dissolution specifications. We went through the following procedures to develop the dissolution method and specifications: (1) Validation of dissolution test equipment, (2) Purchase of test drugs, (3) Preliminary test with one of the test products (1 lot), (4) Validation of analysis methods (3 lots), (5) Final tests and cross tests among other laboratory to establish dissolution specifications, (6) Additional test with the other test drugs. The outcome of this study will be reflected in revision of the KPC. It is believed that the quality control and evaluation of oral solid dosage forms listed in KPC will be advanced with the revision which adds additional dissolution test and specifications for the drugs with no established dissolution specifications.

HPLC/APCI-MS에 의한 dithiocarbamate계 분석법을 확립하고 아울러 국내에서 dithiocarbamate계 농약이 사용되는 쌀, 배추, 사과 등 20종 농산물에 대해 잔류실태를 조사한 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같았다. Dithiocarbamate계 농약 검출건수는 복숭아가 10건 중 3건(30%), 고추가 14건 중 7건(50%), 양파가 12건 중 4건(33.3%), 포도가 12건 중 8건(66.7%), 토마토가 17건 중 7건(41.2%), 감자가 14건 중 4건(28.6%), 구기자가 10건 중 9건(90%), 수박이 10건 중 6건(60%), 양배추가 11건 중 8건(72.7%), 배추가 10건 중 7건(70%), 당근이 12건 중 6건(50%), 오이가 13건 중 8건(61.5%), 쌀이 13건 중 6건(46.2%), 감귤이 11건 중 8건(72.7%), 메론이 16건 중 5건(31.3%), 감이 10건 중 1건(10%), 인삼이 11건 중 1건(9.1%), 대두가 10건 중 2건(20%)으로 100건의 시료에서 42.4%의 검출율을 보였으나 사과와 배 각 10건의 시료에서는 검출되지 않았다. 이 중 기준치를 초과한 농산물은 건 구기자 3건이었으나 기준규격을 설정하여 관리되고 있다. To revise the dithiocarbamates residue analysis method and survey the residues in agricultural products that were treated with these fungicides in Korea, we purchased 20 types of foodstuffs (rice, potato, cabbage, apple etc.) from markets in five major cities. 236 samples of the purchased foodstuffs were then analyzed for the presence of dithiocarbamates by HPLC/UV and HPLC/APCI-MS. The R², LOD and LOQ in the range of 0.5-107.3 mg/L were as follows: DCC: y=174.34x+18.315, R²=0.9999, 0.01 mg/L, and 0.04 mg/L; EBDC: y=227.38x?14.715, R²=1.0000, 0.01mg/L and 0.02 mg/L; PBDC: y=38.46x?21.412, R²=0.9999, 0.04 mg/L, and 0.1 mg/L; ETU: y=52.752x?4.4819, R²=0.9?998, 0.02 mg/L and 0.03 mg/L; PTU: y=128.28x+4.4624, R²=0.9998, 0.02 mg/L, and 0.04 mg/L. The levels of DDC, EBDC, PBDC, ETU and PTU in 20 agricultural products fortified to 10.0-107.3 mg/L ranged from 61.7-117.5%, 65.3-110.1%, 61.5-109.6%, 69.3-116.3% and 70.2-97.2%, respectively. Overall, dithiocarbamates were detected in 100 samples and the detection ratio was 42.4%. Among these, only 3 samples (1.3%) of Lycii fructus had residue levels that were above the action limits, while the remaining samples (233 samples) contained levels of dithiocarbamates below the detection limit or below the Korea MRLs (Maximum Residue Limits).

최근 사물 인터넷의 발전에 따라 기술의 근간이 되는 무선 센서 네트워크의 발전 역시 중요시되고 있다. 일반적으로 무선 센서 네트워크에서 센서들의 에너지원으로 배터리가 사용되기 때문에 높은 에너지 효율성은 센서의 수명을 더 길게 만들고 에너지 하베스팅과 같은 간섭에서 자유롭게 한다. 모바일 객체 추적은 무선 센서 네트워크가 사용되는 분야 중 하나이다. 모바일 객체 추적 네트워크에서 에너지 효율성을 높이기 위해 센서의 비활성화 상태가 길어지면 객체 감지에 대한 성능이 감소하는 문제가 생긴다. 반면에 센서의 활성화 상태를 길게 하면 네트워크의 수명이 짧아지기 때문에 두 요소의 적절한 합의점을 찾는 것이 중요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 최적화된 듀티사이클 조절 방법을 제안하고 LSTM 모델을 사용하여 센서의 최적의 듀티사이클을 예측한다.
12세 아동의 우식경험영구치 Significant Caries(SiC) Index에 대한 조사 연구

Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the significant(SiC) index of the 12 year old children`s permanent teeth caries experience. A total of 428 children aged 12 years old were recruited from metropolitan city(215 children) and rural area(213 children) in this study. SiC index was obtained from DMFT index. Data were analyzed by gender, region, and DMFT. Methods: DMFT index and Sic index were analyzed and compared by pit and sealant fissure treatment, dental caries, gender, and areas. A total of 428 children aged 12 years old were recruited from metropolitan city(215 children) and rural area(213 children) in this study. Results: Boy students(6.73) tended to have a higher SiC index than girl students(7.84). There were significant differences(p<0.05). DMFT index in urban area was 2.59, and that in rural area was 3.35. In SiC index, rural children showed a higher index(7.77) than urban children(6.72).There existed a significance between DMFT index and SiC index(p<0.05). Conclusions: It is important to educate and to develop the oral disease prevention program for the high risk group children. This study showed the relationship between DMFT index and SiC index in 12 year old children in urban and rural areas.
급성 신우신염이 병발한 급성 연쇄상구균 감염후 사구체신염 1례

저자들은 두통, 안면 부종, 고열 및 옆구리 통증 등을 주소로 내원한 5세 여아에서 특징적인임상 양상과 검사 소견 등을 통하여 첫 발병시에 E. coli 감염에 의한 급성 신우신염이 병발한 급성 연쇄상구균 감염후 사구체신염으로 진단하고 치료한 증례를 경험하였기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Acute poststreptococcal glomerulonephritis(APSGN) is the most common form of postinfectious glomerulonephritis, and acute pyelonephritis(APN) is the most severe form of urinary tract infection in childhood. However, the concurrence of two diseases is uncommon in the literature. We describe a case of APSGN accompanied with APN in a 5-year-old female who presented with fever, left flank pain, headache and facial edema. Urinalysis showed pyuria, microscopic hematuria, and mild proteinulra. Serial urine cultures grew Escherichia coli. ${^99m}$Tc-DMSA renal scan revealed a cortical defect in the upper pole of left kidney. She had a history of preceding pharyngitis, in addition, showed high blood pressure, high anti-streptolysin 0 titer, and low serum complement levels. The patient improved completely with supportive treatment, Including antibiotic and antihypertensive therapy. These findings suggested that APSGN and APN could be manifested simultaneously or be .superimposed on each other.
