1990년에 들어서면서 항공운임의 하락과 항공운송의 수요의 증가로 항공운송이 급격히 증가하였다. 그에 따라 국제상업회의소는 1993년에 UCP(400)를 개정할 때 항공운송서류에 관한 조항을 UCP 500에 새롭게 만들었다. 이러한 조항은 항공운송서류를 해석하는데 혼란을 야기 시켜 동 회의소는 2002년에 ISBP를 출간하였다. UCP 500과 ISBP는 항공운송서류를 수리하는 기준이 되었다. 2007년에 UCP 600이 발효됨에 따라 UCP 600 ISBP가 출간되어 현재 항공운송서류는 UCP 600과 UCP 600 ISBP의 내용에 따라 수리되고 있다. 본 논문은 UCP 500과 600, ISBP와 UCP 600 ISBP의 내용을 분석하여 UCP 600 제23조의 적용, 항공운송서류에 대한 명칭, 항공운송서류의 발행자, 운송인과 그의 대리의 서명, 화물의 인수 표기, 항공운송서류의 발행일, 탁송인용 또는 송하인용 항공운송서류, 항공운송서류의 원본, 항공운송주선인이 발행한 항공화물 운송장, 출발지 공항과 도착지 공항, 지시식, 무사고 항공운송서류, 물품의 명세, 운임 및 추가비용에 관하여 개정된 항공운송서류에 대한 수리기준을 제시하였다. Air transport has been increased rapidly in the past decades owing to the reduction of transport cost and the increase of demand for air transport. International Chamber of Commerce made only one article newly regarding air transport document in the UCP 500, But this article has incurred a lot of confusion in terms of interpretation of air transport documents. To solve the problems, International Chamber of Commerce published International Standard Banking Practice for the Examination of Documents(ISBP) in 2002. The Commission on Banking Technique and Practice of the International Chamber of Commerce revised the UCP 500 and promulgated UCP 600. It had an effective date of 1 July 2007. In accordance with to be revised of the UCP 500, International Chamber of Commerce published International Standard Banking Practice for the Examination of Documents under Documentary Credits subject to UCP 600(ISBP). The UCP 600 and UCP 600 ISBP has been became the important standard for the examination of air documents, Ths paper analyzed the revised articles of air documents in the UCP 600 and UCP 600 ISBP and presented the standard of interpretation for the revised articles of air documents in the UCP 600 and UCP 600 ISBP.
