        ‘파리의 조선 무희 리진’의 역사성

        In September 2006, writer Tahk-whan Kim published his novel “Chos?n’s Courtlady Lee Sim in Paris.” In May, 2007, another writer Kyung-sook Shin published the novel “LeeJin.” Both novels werehugely praised by each newspaper at the time when they were published. And, on June 23, 2007, the Korea Broadcasting System (KBS) featured “A Korean dancer becomes a Parisienne.” in their history documentary program, “Han’guksaCh?n (Biography of Korean History).” As a result, Li-Tsin became a historical figure, who is even considered the first Korean Siny?s?ng (New Women). In fact, the stories about her truly can be very interesting materials for people who are looking for historical contents. However, her existence only appeared in a book, “EnCoree,” which Hippolyte Frandin, the second French minister to Korea, co-authored with Claire Vautier. He wrote the book based on his experience but partly wrote with second-hand experience what he heard. His perspective about Chos?n is a negative one based on orientalism. To him, Korea is a nation of mystery or a kingdom of seclusion, which was internationally unknown. He also thinks that Koreans are uncivilized and it is because they are passive slave like. He said that he has seen Li-Tsin in Chos?n and met with her in France. But, records show that they did not stayed together in Chos?n because Collin de Plancy, the first French Minister who was married to Li-Tsin had left for Japan by the time when Frandin arrived in Chos?n. In addition, Plancy had not got married. Li-tsin from his story seems to be an entertainer visiting from outside of the palace. She could not be a court lady. In late period of Chosun Dynasty, female dancers only entertained female royal members at a court banquet. At the court banquet for male, young male dancers entertained. Therefore, it is very unlikely that Li-Tsin met the French minister at the royal banquet. If the minister had lived with a Korean woman considered Li-Tsin, it would have been recorded as a big scandal. Especially, any records including the very voluminous and detailed journals of Bishop Mutel, the head of the French Catholic Church in Korea do not prove that Minister Plancy lived with a Korean woman. Also, Chong-u Hong could not be a high official, who took her back. Certainly, he was one of King Kojong’s close associates and dreamed of modern reformation of the country led by the king. He also handled business for foreign legations as a Section Chief of Foreign Affairs of Department of the Royal Household. So it is not probable that he forcibly took her back from the minister who had supported him, causing her to kill herself. In conclusion, Li-Tsin is a fictitious figure created by orientalism of Frandin combined with sensationalism of Korean novelists or producers.

        한국사학계에서 바라본 한국기독교사 연구

        It is generally held among Korean historians that the role of Christianity in Korean modern history was the promotion of pro-American, ultra right wing ideology. In contrast, Korean church historians have argued that Christianity played a pioneering role in Korean nationalism and the modernization of the country. Despite their marked opposition, both positions hold that Christianity is more an ideology for social movement than a religion, providing at best a lop-sided account of Korean church history. For a more balanced study of Korean church history I would like to propose the following. First, that we study the origins, meanings and problems of the culture and customs currently held by the Korean church and its members. Second, that we maintain Korean church history as a legitimate and separate field in the study of Korean history. Third, that we maintain a strict historical basis in the view of history. Fourth, that we advance research into the values, beliefs, and spirit of the countries that send foreign missionaries to Korea. Fifth, that we understand the correlation between traditional Korean thought and the thought processes involved in the adoption of Christianity in Korea. Sixth, that we examine how other religious groups have understood Christianity, and the kinds of conflict that arose between these religions and Christianity. Lastly, I propose that the denominations and individual churches do not attempt to influence the way Korean church history is to be studied.

        사회사상사적 독립협회 연구의 확립과 문제점

        Shin Yongha's A Study on the Independence Club was published in 1976 and has been has held a ground breaking position in modern Korean political history research. His works accomplished researches and preposition regarding Independence Club and he has represented the research on Independent Club ever since. This remarkable book is a masterpiece that has carried an enormous amount of historical resources and a large scale. No one has topped his work truthfully and has been a milestone in modern Korean Political history and also has been used in textbook descriptions regularly. Furthermore, the reasoning that him acceding The Independence Club which Enlightenment Faction (Ksehwepe) that he established and the popular movements resulted in Patriotic Enlightenment Movement is commonly accepted. Although he has detailed reference quotes, he often avoids or denies references that donot match his own reasoning. Additionally, he has created his own social ideas in a phase in Independent Club and overestimated the content possessing a perfect structure that has never came up to this day. Therefore, his research has a very positive side, yet has the propensity to be ideological. Furthermore, Shin Yongha's research does not have international affairs at the time enough in his view and has a consistent reasoning that is very narrow perspective. Korea at the time was already incorporated in the structural plan of global capitalism and this condition worsened after the Sino-Japanese War. Consequently, Independence Club Movement has been continued under secretive relationship with World Power everlasting change of the friend or enemy. Also, since Independent Club has gone through various changes from the beginning until the end corresponding to the international affairs especially Russia's change in Korean policy, is a dynamic understanding is needed.

        드라마 활용을 통한 한국어교육콘텐츠 개선방향

        한국의 K-drama, K-pop과 같은 한류콘텐츠가 국외에서도 큰 열풍을 일으키면서 한국에 대한 긍정적인 인식과 더불어 한국어에 대한 관심으로 이어졌다. 이러한 시대의 흐름을 따라 한류콘텐츠를 활용한 한국어 교육 콘텐츠가 몇 가지 제작 및 개발 되었다. 한국어교육 콘텐츠는 대중들에게 익숙한 한류콘텐츠를 주로 활용하기 때문에 외국어로서의 한국어를 공부하는 대상이 흥미를 가지고 한국어를 공부하게 만들고, 한국의 문화를 간접적으로 경험할 수 있게 한다. 그렇기 때문에 기초적인 정보전달의 역할을 하는 것에서 끝나는 것이 아니라 보다 치밀한 기획의도를 가지고 교육적인 콘텐츠로서의 방향성을 가질 필요가 있다. 그러나 현재 개발된 콘텐츠들은 아직 충분한 상태라고 하기는 어려운 실정이다. 이 글은 그 가운데 한국 드라마(K-drama)를 활용하고 있는 누리-세종학당의 ‘두근두근 한국어’ 시리즈를 본격적인 분석대상으로 삼아, 한계점을 검토하고 결론적으로 개선방향을 제시하였다. 향후 효과적으로 K-drama를 활용한 한국어 교육콘텐츠의 기획 및 제작이 이루어진다면, 단순히 정보 전달에 그치는 것이 아니라 한국의 문화와 전통까지 드러낼 수 있을 것이다. 그렇다면 K-culture 자체가 또 하나의 상품으로서 국가 이미지 개선에 한 줄기를 담당하는 가치 있는 활동이 될 것이다. The Korean wave contents such as Korean TV dramas and K-pop are sweeping over foreign countries. This Korean wave has improved positive national brand image and also brought up interest across Korean culture. Due to expansion of Korean wave, some Korean education contents started to be made by using Korean wave contents. These kinds of Korean educational online contents induce interest in studying Korean by using Korean wave contents. Furthermore, people can indirectly experience Korean culture. so we need to come up with more effective application plan. However, contents which has produced currently still have insufficient part. Based on that, current state of Korean education online contents by using Korean wave contents will analyze into especially a series of ‘Pit-A-Pat Korean’ from Nuri-Sejong school need to be proposed a review of the limitations and improvement conclusion in this paper. The K-drama produced by effectively utilizing the planning and the Korean educational content. This will reveal to the culture and traditions of Korea, as well as a simple information transfer. So we expect to be a valuable activity that is responsible for a stem to improve the countrys image as one item K-culture itself.

      • 國定 國史 敎科書의 內容分析과 問題點 : 고등학교 '국사' 근대사 서술을 중심으로

        The only one "Korean History" textbook that the Korean government authorized not only standardizes the historical consciousness of the Korean students but has remarkably many parts which do not correspond to historical truths. Whoever writes it, a history textbook can not be a perfect one. Therefore the government should permit free publishment of many kinds of history textbooks. In will make them supplement each other's demerits and lead to a true education of history.
