The objective of this study is to develop and apply weather data of EnergyPlus simulation input library for conducting simulation modeling. The results of this study show that Korean standard weather data of 11 locations can be utilized and measured weather data can be converted to epw format file for EnergPlus weather input file. First, input parameters should be compared and analyzed between standard weather data and EnergyPlus simulation input fields. Second, weather data file can be converted to epw EnergPlus input weather data format by using Weather Statistics & Conversions program. Third, converted data should be verified by applying EnergyPlus simulation. 11 standard Korean weather data and 7 measured weather data were converted and it can widely utilize for EnergPlus input file.

This paper conducted energy conservation feasibility measurement of the HVAC systems for the supermarket store to evaluate the building"s energy performance and identify potential cost-effective energy saving opportunities. The air temperature for one roof top unit(RTUs) and one makeup air unit(MAUs) was also trended and the control sequences and parameters were collected from the control contractor. The results of building energy performance measurement show that the supermarket can improve the building energy performance by recommendations: 1) Calibrate and adjust the minimum outside damper position to avoid the infiltration and generate a lower space humidity level. 2) Add a variable frequency driver(VFD) on the supply fan of the two bigger units (RTU-1and 2), and 3) Fine tune three makeup units to avoid the gas heater enabled when the space is still under cooling modes.

In this study, the operation strategy of the radiant floor cooling at continuous cooling operation is evaluated in terms of indoor environmental conditions through simulations using the TRNSYS. North faced rooms with low cooling load condition were operated by only radiant floor cooling system by cooling storage effect and rooms were operated by dehumidification and supplementary cooling device with radiant floor cooling system if there is high cooling load for representative room like living room. An indoor thermal environment analysis showed that radiant floor cooling systems can maintain a set room temperature with the exception of hot and humid periods. In this case, fixed internal cooling load by heat gain during continuously operated for cooling. It was also found that the north room cool within the comfort range during the whole cooling period since the room does not heat up as much as other rooms.
Continuous Commissioning의 절차와 적용

This paper presents the continuous commissioning process, information on the case study facility, improved system operation, and building energy consumption measures before and after continuous commissioning implementation. Continuous commissioning is an ongoing process to resolve operating problems, improve comfort, optimize energy use and identify retrofits for existing commercial and institutional buildings and central plant facilities. Continuous commissioning process consists of two phases. The first phase is the project development phase and the second phase implements and verifies project performance. Results of a case study show that continuous commissioning implementation can reduce energy costs. The energy reports show the electricity savings of 22% and gas savings of 47% on an average.

This paper demonstrates the building energy audit to evaluate the building's energy performance and identify potential cost-effective energy saving opportunities. An building energy audit was conducted to investigate of existing control sequence for system operation, measure of the chiller plant, DX AHUs and terminal boxes and provide retrofit and control upgrade recommendations to address the comfort problems and improve the energy performance of the HVAC system. The results of building energy audit show that the building is currently using out of date pneumatic control systems, which result in higher energy costs, higher maintenance costs; constant speed fans are used in the systems with variable air volume (VAV) terminal boxes; and the DX condensing units have serious operation reliability and maintenance issues due to intermittent operation. To improve building energy operation and energy performance, recommendations were made: 1) VFDs on the fans were installed, 2) terminal boxes were upgraded to DOC, and 3) condensing units were replaced or converted DX coils to chilled water coil.

In this study, the operation strategy of the radiant floor cooling at intermittent cooling operation is evaluated in terms of indoor environmental conditions through simulations using the TRNSYS. The result of this study show that simulations on various situations while intermittently operated for cooling in an actual apartment building, the operation strategy is proposed that system and control method for cooling are varied with period. Specifically, when there are no people in the room, rooms were operated by only radiant floor cooling system by using cooling storage and people are occupied, rooms were operated by dehumidification and supplementary cooling device with radiant floor cooling system. In the intermittent cooling, it is possible to operate the radiant floor cooling without other supplementary cooling device if pre-cooling using the large thermal capacity of structure was conducted. And it has the advantage over the PAC economically if we are considering initial cost.

The objective of this study is to show the implementation of new innovative technologies during building retro-commissioning practices to improve building operations and reduce energy costs. The case study building is a hotel with total floor area of 34,140 square meter included guest rooms. Specific building commissioning measures were implemented in the building. Indoor comfort was improved and the energy utility bill shows a reduction in electricity and steam consumption after building commissioning. This paper presents facility information, implementations and detailed descriptions of control sequence and operation comparisons before commissioning and after commissioning for the terminal boxes, air-handling units (AHUs), as well as the chilled water system and hot water system. The results of this study show that electricity savings of 12% and steam savings of 14% on an average.
범죄예방 환경설계(CPTED) 사업의 시행효과 분석 연구

This research analyze a fear to crime in three specific time that before, right after and one year after of the CPTED project. According to the analysis, there are several noticeable results as follows. First of all, the satisfaction ratio of local residents for the CPTED project is 90% on average in two target regions. However, some results showed that differences in some fields. Although overall satisfaction to the CPTED programs has increased significantly for one year after end of the project, residents’ satisfaction to several secure facilities and wall painting has been decreased compared to right after the project. The fear of crime decreased one year after end of the project. In conclusion, even though CPTED project gives positive impact to local community, it is clear that continuous maintenance and management system are crucial parts in the CPTED project to make the sustainable effectiveness of crime prevention.

In this study, the energy commissioning was conducted for high-rise buildings(manual control). First of all, we conducted monitoring the energy use of buildings (electricity, heating, etc.), a commissioning improvement (automatic control) was proposed for each system. In addition, energy simulation was conducted to predict the effectiveness of the reform measures. As a result, terminal units control the greatest energy saving effect, If we applied all the improvements, we could save about 20% less than traditional energy usage, and it turned out that CO₂ emissions were reduced by about 19% when converted to CO₂.
집광채광시스템을 적용한 실내체육관의 신재생에너지 공급의무 분담률에 관한 연구

Under the goal of analyzing the compulsory supply share of new renewable energy according to the application of a daylighting system to indoor gymnasiums, this study conducted analysis of energy consumption and operation schedule at three indoor gymnasiums in the nation through a survey. The investigator did an Energy Plus simulation on Building A based on the analysis results and analyzed the supply share of new renewable energy in the saving effects of lighting energy according to the application of a daylighting system. As a result, When 92 prism daylighting system were installed in the upper ceiling of a stadium, they were able to meet the criteria for the minimum illumination for official games(Min : 600㏓) and optimum illumination for general games and recreations, thus saving lighting energy during the daytime(09:00~17:00). The resulting saving effects of lighting energy amounted to 44.4% for official games, 57.6% for general games, and 66.7% for recreations. In addition, the daylighting systems had a compulsory supply share of new renewable energy at 2.04% for official games, 2.75% for general games, and 2.62% for recreations, recording an average compulsory supply share of 2.5%.
