Fresnel lenses are developed for flat optics with the optical characteristics close to aspherical lens such as sharp focusing and dispersion instead of spherical or aspherical surface. Usually, these fresnel lenses and diffraction gratings are machined by high-energy beam such as electron beam machining, but recently with the development of ultra precision machine tool and machining technology, 3-dimension micro machining becomes preferable. This study on the micro machining of fresnel lens is carried out to develop the basic technology of ultra precision micro machining. The machined lens mold will be used for the manufacturing of fresnel lens with 120mm focal distance using synthetic resin material with 1.49 refractive index(PMMA), and the shape of lens is 48mm diameter, $300\mum$ pitch and about $5-700\mum$depth of groove in brass.

The growth of LCD and LED industry has increased the demand for micro complex structured pattern array in Light Guide plate and optical film. In this study, microprism structured mold in a few micron class is manufactured by using orthogonal cutting method. The size of pattern is 10㎛ length, 6㎛ width 1.3㎛ and 2.2㎛ height. The length of pitch is 314㎛ and 191㎛ respectively. The micro structured mold is fabricated by applying the cross processing method with two rectangular shaped micro tool. In this paper, micro complex structured patten is designed, machining method is used and finally machining results are analyzed.

Up to now, collimators have teen generally produced by handwork and only a few companies have produced by semi-automatic system. Under this situation, automatic system for assembly of optical collimators has risen as a mast essential technique in the development of optical communication components. In this study, it was constructed to develop optical collimators with high functionality and we manufactured optical collimators with a GRIN rod lens and spherical lens using automatic system. Therefore, we worked a performance test through a comparison of collimators made by automatic system and handwork with angle augment, bean size. Also we selected a optimum assembly condition of GRIN rod lens and spherical lens. As a result, it brought a reduction of the tact time and an improvement of an efficiency and a productivity of optical collimators, therefore it was found that automatic system was indispensable for materialization of optical collimators with high functionality.
