Energy harvesting from low-temperature waste heat is a major engineering opportunity in the increasingly industrial world. Large-scale machining and power generation facilities produce large amounts of thermal energy from their processes and remove it using a wide variety of cooling or HVAC systems. These facilities continuously produce waste heat at 20-30℃ above ambient temperatures, and represent a massive waste of potentially useful energy. The low-temperature gradient values have been defined as the ambient air temperature and 20-30℃ above. These are the conditions under which the Stirling engines will be tested. torque vs. speed and torque vs. power relationships were generated with the collected test data. The MM-7 Stirling engine was able to generate a peak of 2.5㎽ at a temperature difference of 30℃ across its top and bottom plates. The peak power for a temperature difference of 20℃ and 25℃ is 1.8㎽ and 2.0㎽ respectively.

A life cycle cost analysis has been carried out to compare the economic feasibility of fluorescent lighting and fiber-optic daylighting. It was assumed that both systems were installed for an office space whose floor area was 26 ㎡. To utilize the available solar energy to its full capacity for the latter, precise solar tracking was considered in conjunction with small parabolic dish concentrators of 15 ~ 30 ㎝ in diameter. It was found that combined use of these systems deliver better economic feasibility as compared to the case of using fluorescent lighting alone.

This paper deals with the effectiveness of a fiber optic solar lighting system that uses a Fresnel lens mounted on a two-axis solar tracker. A series of comparative analyses were made concerning its performance as compared to fluorescent lighting by using a simulation model based on ECOTECT and RADIANCE as well as referring to actual data. ECOTECT was used to model the test room (space) while RADIANCE was used for its indoor lighting conditions (environment). It was found that the average indoor light levels of fluorescent lighting fully satisfy the KS standard (KS A 3011, general office, class [G]: 300-400-600 lux) whereas those of the solar lighting with light diffusers depends on the occlusion factor of roller shades installed on the south window.

The purpose of this study is to develop an aged-housing envelope remodeling software for supporting decision-making in the early stages of the design process. With the growing demands for aesthetic value and high-performance building envelop in the aged-housing remodeling, the requirements in the early stages of the design process are more diversified and sophisticated. Under this circumstance, the expenses caused by the inefficient design process hinder the business value of the remodeling so that studies on the technical development for the envelop remodeling are more important than ever. In this regard, this study introduces an integrated architectural design assistant program using generative design as a guideline to an efficient design process for the aged-housing envelope remodeling.

메타버스는 가상 공간에서 활동하는 디지털 플랫폼으로 코로나19로 비대면 활동이 늘면서 여러 분야에적용되고 있다. 본 연구는 기존 도상훈련 방식의 단점을 극복하고 안전관리 DX(Digital Transformation) 화를 위해 메타버스를 이용하는 방법을 제안하고 있다. 메타버스 플랫폼 중 게더타운은 커스터마이징, 소통 및 협업이 가능한 디지털 플랫폼으로, 가상 공간에서 활동하며 작업을 수행할 수 있다. 이러한 게더타운의 특징을 활용하여 메타버스 내에서 안전관리 업무에 필요한 도구와 장비를 구현하고, 안전교육및 비상훈련을 위한 시나리오를 구성하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 안전관리 DX화 구축이 안전관리 업무의효율성과 효과성을 높일 수 있는 유용한 도구임을 입증하였다. Metaverse is a digital platform that operates in a virtual space and is being applied to various fields as non-face-to-face activities increase due to COVID-19. This study proposes a method of using a metaverse to overcome the shortcomings of the existing road training method and to make safety management DX (Digital Transformation). Among the metaverse platforms, Gathertown is a digital platform that can be customized, communicated, and collaborated, and can work in a virtual space. Using these features of Gathertown, tools and equipment necessary for safety management work were implemented in the metaverse, and scenarios for safety education and emergency training were organized. The results of this study proved that the establishment of safety management DX is a useful tool to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of safety management work.
