高溫環境이 反芻家畜의 체온 및 혈장 Cortisol 농도에 미치는 影響

Temperatures of blood and skin, respiratory rate and plasma cortisol concentration in sheep at a warm (average ambient temperature of $15.3^{\circ}C$) and a hot (average ambient temperature of $27.0^{\circ}C$ environment were measured to investigate the effect of hot environment on the physiological responses in ruminant. Temperatures of core, mean skin and mean body in sheep were tended to increase at day time and to decrease at night time at both warm and hot environment, while 24-hr average for those temperatures were significantly higher at hot environment than at warm environment (P<0.05). The calculated body heat content was higher in sheep at hot environment than at warm environment (P<0.05). Respiratory rate and plasma cortisol concentration had no significant differences between warm and hot environment, suggesting that sheep were not stress by the hot environment in this experiment. It is, therefore, suggested that sheep were well adopted to hot environment by increasing body heat content against heat stress.

This report was concerned with the isolation and identification of bacterial flora in the human dental plaque and the dextransucrase activity of isolated species. The results were obtained as follows: 1. The bacterial flora, isolated from the human dental plaque, was identified as 3 species of resembling streptococci, Streptococcus salivarius strain SD-1, Streptococcus bacilli, Lactobacillus brevis strain SD-3, Lactobacillus acidophilus strain SD-2 and SD-7, resembling Staphylococcus sp, and one species of resembling Leuconostoc mesenteroides strain SD-6. 2. The dextransucrase activites of resembling Streptococcus mitis strain SD-9 and Streptococcus salivarius strain SD-1 were exhibited the highest among the isolated species of human dental plaque.
Estimation of Cost of Energy for Offshore Wind Turbines

Large offshore wind farms have actively been developed in order to meet the needs for wind energy since the land-based wind farms have almost been fully developed especially in Europe. The key problem for the construction of offshore wind farms may be on the high cost of energy compared to land-based ones. NREL (National Renewable Energy Laboratory) has developed a spreadsheet-based tool to estimate the cost of wind-generated electricity from both land-based and offshore wind turbines. Component formulas for various kinds and scales of wind turbines were made using available field data. Annual energy production has been estimated based on the Weibull probability distributions of wind. In this paper, this NREL estimation model is introduced and applied to the offshore wind turbines now under designing or in production in Korea, and the result is discussed.
신경망 기법을 이용한 강섬유 혼입율, 형상비에 따른 전단강도 추정모형 개발

본 연구에서는 신경망 기법을 이용하여 SFRC의 전단 강도 추정 모형을 개발하였으며, 모형 개발을 위해 선행 연구자료들을 수집, 분석한 결과 SFRC의 전단강도에 영향을 미치는 변수로는 전단지간·깊이비가 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. SFRC의 전단강도 추정 모형 개발에 총 5개의 신경망 모형을 개발하였으며, 5개의 모형 중 모형개발 및 검증에서 NN-3 모형이 가장 높은 결정계수 r<sup>2</sup>=0.918를 나타내어 전단강도 추정 모형에 가장 적합하다고 사료된다.
Flavor Components in the Bellflower Roots (Platycodon glaucum Nakai)

도라지 뿌리의 향기성분을 규명하고자 도라지 뿌리의 향기성분을 상압 수증기 증류법으로 포집하여 중성, 염기성, 약산성 및 산성부분으로 분획하였다. Diazomethane 법으로 methyl ester화한 산성부분을 위시한 4부분은 모세관 column을 장치한 GC 및 GC-MS로 분석하였으며 함황화합물은 FPD 검출기로써 검출하였다. 도라지 뿌리로부터 aliphatic hydrocarbon류 6종, aromatic hydrocarbon류 10종, terpene hydrocarbon류 2종, alcohol류 12종, terpene alcohol류 8종, aldehyde류 17종, terpene aldehyde를 3종, ketone류 5종, ester류 5종, furan류 3종, thiazole류 2종, lactone류 2종, sulfide류 2종, phenol류 9종, 산류 12종 및 기타 5종을 위시하여 총 103종의 향기성분이 동정되었다. Carboxylic acid를 제외한 향기성분은 대부분 중성부분에서 동정되었고, 관능검사의 결과에서도 중성부분이 도라지 뿌리의 향기를 재현하는데 필요불가결한 것으로 나타났다. 관능검사의 결과, 중성부분에서 동정된 1-hexanal, trans-2-hexenal, 1-hexanol, cis-3-hexenol, trans-2-hexenol, 1-octenen-3-ol등은 도라지 뿌리의 풋냄새의 주성분인 것으로 생각된다. Flavor components were trapped by stimultaneous steam distillation-extraction method for investigating it in the bellflower roots and fractionated into four groups such as a neutral, a basic, a phenolic and an acidic fraction. An acidic fraction methylated with diazomethane solution and three others were analyzed by GC and GC-MS equipping a fused silica capillary column, and S-containing compounds in these were detected with a flame photometric detector (FPD). The total of one hundred and three compounds from the bellflower roots were identified: they were 6 aliphatic hydrocarbons, 10 aromatic hydrocarbons, 2 terpene hydrocarbons, 12 alcohols, 8 terpene alcohols, 17 aldehydes, 3 terpene aldehydes, 5 ketones, 5 esters, 3 furans, 2 thiazoles, 2 lactones, 2 sulfides, 9 phenols, 12 carboxylic acids and 5 others. The greater part of the others except carboxylic acids were identified from a neutral fraction of which was assumed to be indispensable for the reproduction of bellflower root odor in a sensory evaluation. As a result of a sensory evaluation. l-hexanal, trans-2-hexenal, 1-hexanol, cis-3-hexenol, trans-2-hexenol. l-octen-3-o1 and so forth identified in a neutral fraction were considered to be the key compounds of grass-like odor in the bellflower roots.
