        The interests on the Building Energy Management System(BEMS) can be summarized as two requirements, installation cost reduction and effective function. However, there is few systematic analyses on the effects of BEMS. In particular, it is uncommon to see the savings on various energy consumption factors and analyses results based on long-term measurement data. In this study, the energy saving forecast effects were summarized and analyzed from the energy consumption information obtained from the operation data with BEMS. The test site was composed of 8 buildings in Hwaseong campus of Korea Institute of Civil engineering and building Technology(KICT). The test period was one years from 2016 to 2017. Over 12 percent of electric power consumption was saved simply through the improvement of consciousness of residents from June 2016. It was also expected to reduce electric power consumption about 2% by changing control method of the dust collector and about 15% per year by changing the operation method of air conditioning system in the computer room. Additional energy saving over 5% was expected possible through the reasonable adjustment and optimal operation of the building air-conditioning system.

        The building service branch is still in the traditional industries centered on hardware and manufacturing. In addition, most of the equipment specialists are facing such difficulties as automation systems or energy management systems based on information and communication technology. In order for our engineers to play a key role in the development, construction and utilization of BEMS, it is urgent to develop low-cost, high-performance systems and core algorithms. Using the new open platform described in this study, all of experts who do not know information and communication technology can easily and quickly build and operate the management system, which can greatly reduce the initial investment cost and maintenance cost of the installation stage. It is expected that it will contribute to maintenance of comfortable indoor environment and energy saving by improving operational management efficiency.
