        통합 의학 치료로 5년 생존 및 완전 관해에 도달한 췌장암 증례 보고 1례

        Objectives: This is a five-year survival and complete response (CR) report on pancreatic cancer treated with western medicine and Korean traditional medicine. Method: A 59-year-old woman diagnosed with pancreatic cancer visited ○○ Korean traditional medicine hospital after neoadjuvant chemotherapy and pylorus-preserving pancreaticoduodenectomy. She was treated with Korean traditional medicine, including acupuncture, abdominal moxibustion, wild ginseng pharmacopuncture, and herbal medicine, which was based on integrated medicine therapy (IMT), from March 2018 to September 2022. The tumor size was measured by scanning with computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging, and positron-emission tomography/CT. Adverse events were evaluated using laboratory conclusion and National Cancer Institute Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events version 5.0. Result: During four years and three months of treatment, IMT maintained safety. The patient finally reached five-year survival without any recurrence or complication (CR) on October 26, 2022. Conclusion: We suggest that an integrative approach including Korean traditional medicine can be a meaningful treatment option for pancreatic cancer. Further studies should be performed to establish the proper treatment protocol of integrative medicine for pancreatic cancer.

        Rapid progress in epigenetic studies has resulted in genome wide information of genetic functions, other than DNA sequence information. However, insufficient understanding and unclear research direction in epigenetics has failed to attract many researchers. Here, we review the sexual reproduction processes that are particularly related to epigenetics in plants. We aim to elucidate the roles of epigenetic information and molecular mechanisms involved in the complex sexual reproduction process of plants, and examine their biological significance.

        NGS 기술 활용 돌연변이체 해석 및 연구현황

        NGS 기술은 전체 게놈 시퀀싱 및 reference 게놈에 alignment에 의해 돌연변이 표현형에 관련된 돌연변이 식별에 이용한다. 그러나 품종 및 계통들을 resequence 하였을 경우 기존의 reference 게놈에 구조적 변이가 보이며, reference와 맞지 않는 게놈지역에서 돌연변이들은 단순한 alignment로 찾을 수 없다. 본 리뷰에서는 NGS 기술을 이용하여 돌연변이체로부터 변이 관련 유전자를 식별하는 MutMap, MutMap-Gap 및 MutMap+ 방법을 기술하였고 지금까지의 연구현황에 대해 기술하였다. 아울러 이들 방법은 nucleotide-binding site-leucine rich repeat (NBS-LRR) 그룹들의 병 저항성 유전자와 같이 구조적 변이를 가진 유전자를 분리하는 등 유용성에 대해 고찰하였다. Next-generation sequencing allows the identification of mutations responsible for mutant phenotypes by whole-genome resequencing and alignment to a reference genome. However, when the resequenced cultivar/line displays significant structural variation from the reference genome, mutations in the genome regions absent in the reference cannot be identified by simple alignment. In this review, we report the current status and prospects in identification of genes in mutant phenotypes, by using the methods MutMap, MutMap-Gap, and MutMap+. These methods delineate a candidate region harboring a mutation of interest, followed by de novo assembly, alignment, and identification of the mutation within genome gaps. These methods are likely to prove useful for cloning genes that exhibit significant structural variations, such as disease resistance genes of the nucleotide-binding site-leucine rich repeat (NBS-LRR) class.

        나이관련 황반변성에 대한 동서의학적 고찰

        Object : The purpose of this study is to understand age-related maculardegeneration(AMD) with both western and Korean medicine.Methods : We investigated the comprehension of general AMD degenation in both western and Korean medicine through literature review.Results : The results are as follows.1. AMD prevalent increasing as the population ages; however, treatment options remain limited and incompletely defined.2. Generally macular degeneration has been affected by aging and is associate with the function of kidney(腎) and liver(肝) in Korean medicine.Conclusion : Further studies are needed to apply comprehension of AMD in Korean medicine to clinical stage.

        박탈성 피부염의 한방 치험 1례

        Objective : The purpose of this report is to know the effect of Korean medical treatments on exfloliative dermatitis. Methods : We treated a 25-years-old man patient with exfloliative dermatitis on the limbs and back with Korean medicine. After Korean medical teatment for 26 days, we measured the decrease of dermatitis and recovery of skin exfloliate. We recorded pictures of changes on symptoms. Result & Conclusion : The symptoms of exfloliative dermatitis were significantly improved. The dry skin and itching were disappeared and skin damages were almost recovered. Thus Korean medical treatments are effective on exfloliative dermatitis.

        제주산 파인애플 유래 Bromelain관련 유전자 (BL1)를 이용반 형질전환 상추의 특성

        파인애플 (Ananas comosus) 줄기에서 얻어지는 bromelain은 단백질 분해효소 중 cysteine protease의 복합체로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 제주산 파인애플 줄기를 이용하여 bromelain 관련 유전자를 분리하였다. 분리된 BL1 유전자는 총 933개의 염기서열로 311개의 아미노산을 coding 하였다. 지금 까지 알려진 식물 유래 bromelain 관련 유전자와의 alignment 분석한 결과 BAA21929 유전자와 94%, T10516 유전자와 93% 및 P14518 유전자와 81%의 상동성을 보였다. BL1 유전자를 상추 게놈내에 도입하고자 NPTII 유전자 와 BL1 유전자로 제작한 pBI 121 BL 벡터를 Agrobacterium tumefacience LBA4404에 도입한 후, 상추잎 절편에 감염시켜 embryogenic callus 및 재분화 식물체를 육성하였다. 이들식물체로부터 T1세대를 육성하여 PCR 분석을 통해 왜래유전자의 도입 여부를 확인하였다. 또한 형질전환체의 발현여부는 Nothern blot분석 및 eno protease활성을 통해 형질전환체에서 BL1유전자가 안정적으로 상추세포내에서 발현되고 있음을 확인하였다. 따라서 본 실험에서 육성된 bromelain 관련 BL1 유전자가 도입한 형질전환 상추를 육종소재르 활용한다면 상업적으로 유용한 단백질을 분해하는 가수분해효소로써 건강 보조제, 사료첨가제 등에 널리 사용할 수 있을 것으로 생각되어진다. To clarify the roles of bromelain in plants, we isolated BL1 gene encoding bromelain from pineapple stem tissues and sequenced. The full length cDNA is 933 bp and encodes a polypeptide of 311 amino acid residues. The cDNA is most similar 94% at the amino acid level to bromelain previously isolated from pineapple (BAA21929). Explants of Lactuca sativa were co-cultivated with Agrobacterium tume-faciences LBA 4404 strains containing nptII and BL1 gene for transformation. Through initial selection of regenerated explants by culturing on a kanamycin and carbenicillin containing MS medium, multiple shoots were obtained after 2 months of culture. For a complementary step of selection, putative transgenic shoots were transferred to 1/2 Ms basal medium supplemented with 100 mg/L kanamycin and 500 mg/L carbenicillin. The selected shoots were obtained T1 generation seeds with emasculation, and tested with PCR analysis using 35S promoter and BL1 specific primers whether BL1 gene was introduced to genome of the plants. These results confirmed that produced the specific PCR bands in the putative transgenic lines. Additionally the Northern blot and endo protease activity showed that transcripts of BL1 gene were detected in transgenic lines. Theses results suggest that BL1 gene be successfully integrated and transcripted in the transgenic lettuce plants.

        멜라닌 및 색소 이상 질환과 장부(臟腑)와의 연관성 고찰

        Objectives : The purpose of this research is to understand melanin with both Korean and Western medicine.Methods : We investigated the comprehension of melanin in both western and Korean medicine through literature review and studied relationships between melanin and five viscera(五臟), especially liver(肝), spleen(脾), kidney(腎). We Also studied representative pigmentary disorders(melasma, vitiligo) in western and Korean medicine to figure out how to understand pigmentary disorders in oriental medicine.Results : The results are as follows. 1. Melanin is associate with liver, because free coursing(疎泄) function of liver is the origin of transport melanin to keratinocyte from melanocyte. Also, melanogenesis factors like MITF and CREB are closely associated with liver and pigmentary disorders occur frequently after stress conditions or women. 2. Melanin is absorbed and scattered in keratinocytes by the function of spleen. Pigmentary disorders result from failure of spleen and formation of phlegm-retained fluid(痰飮). 3. Kidney essence(腎精) is the origin of melanin formation. In addition, corticosteroid, the major hormone of melanogenesis is secreted by adrenalin and adrenalin belongs to kidney(腎) in Korean medicine. 4. Melasma is created by disorder of melanin transport and absorbtion, so melasma is associated liver (肝) and spleen(脾). Therefore the treatment for melasma may focus on improvement function of liver and spleen. 5. The destruction of melanocyte or abnormal melanogenesis by disorder of the immune system, metabolic and affective disorders can make vitiligo, so vitiligo is associated with liver and kidney which are major part of melanin formation. Therefore the treatment of vitiligo can focus on improvement function of liver(肝) and kidney(腎).Conclusion : We compared Korean and western medicine to understand melanin. We also interpreted the mechanism of melanin and pigmantary disorders in western medicine and considered the relationship with visceral manifestation theory(臟象論) in traditional Korean medicine. Further studies are needed to apply comprehension of melanin to clinical stage.

        ICT 원격제어 system 이용 식물진단, Phenomics 연구현황 및 전망

        Remote sensing는 각종 센서를 이용하여 지표면, 물, 요소 기술에 대해 비접촉, 비파괴적인 방법으로 필요한 정보를 얻어내는 기술이다. 이들 기술은 센서 등의 요소 기술 뿐만 아니라, 센서를 탑재하는 플랫폼과 정보 통신 기술(ICT) 등을 복합적으로 이용한다. 특히 농업 분야에서는 ICT를 중개로 기상이나 토양 등의 환경 정보와 작물 정보를 측정하여 수치화하고 클라우드 컴퓨팅에 의해 생산 단계뿐만 아니라 유통 및 소비 단계까지 관리하는 스마트 농업에 크게 기여한다. 식물을 측정하기 위해서는 비파괴 비접촉 bioimaging (remote imaging)을 포함한 식물기능 remote sensing 기술개발이 필요하다. 또한 식물 과학 분야에서도 유전자 세포 수준에서 개체 수준까지를 대상으로 한 bioimaging 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 최근 들어 표현형 연구를 통해 환경과 유전자형의 관계를 구명하는 phenomics 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 식물기능 원격탐사의 기술동향, 식물진단 및 식물환경응답해석과 식물 phenomics 연구현황에 대해 고찰하였다. Remote Sensing (RS) is a technique to obtain necessary information in a non-contact and non-destructive method by using various sensors on the surface, water or atmospheric phenomena. These techniques combine elements such as sensors, and platform and information communication technology (ICT) for mounting the sensor. ICT has contributed significantly to the success of smart agriculture through quantification and measurement of environmental factors and information such as weather, crop and soil management to distribution and consumption stage, as well as the production stage by the cloud computer. Remote sensing techniques, including non-destructive non-contact bioimaging (remote imaging) is required to measure the plant function. In addition, bioimaging study in plant science is performed at the gene, cellular and individual plant level. Recently, bioimaging technology is considered the latest phenomics that identifies the relationship between the genotype and environment for distinguishing phenotypes. In this review, trends in remote sensing in plants, plants diagnostics and response to environment and status of plants phonemics research were presented.

        유연성 다중 회귀 모델을 활용한 보행자 이상 행동 예측 모델 연구

        최근 강력 범죄 및 우발 범죄가 끊이지 않고 있으면서 사회적 불안감이 고조되고 있다. 이에 따라 방범용 카메라, CCTV (Closed Circuit Television)가 범죄 증거 확보와 치안을 위해 사용되고 있다. 그러나 CCTV는 주로 사후 처리 기능으로 사용하고 있으며 사전에 범죄를 예방하기는 힘들다. 본 연구에서는 CCTV로부터 수집된 보행자 데이터를 이용하여 객체의 행동을 분석하고 위험 행동 여부를 추정하기 위한 유연성 다중 회귀 모델을 제안한다. 유연성 다중 회귀 모델은 필터링, 상황분석, 예측 단계로 구성되어 있다. 먼저 보행자에 대한 환경과 상황에 대해 필터링한 후 상황분석에 대한 정보를 구축하고 관찰 객체에 이상 행동이 결정된다. 마지막으로 연관분석을 통해 객체의 행동이 예측되어 위협 상황을 통지한다. 이를 통해 다중 지역에서 객체의 행동을 추적하여 객체 행동의 위험여부를 알 수 있으며, 행동 예측을 통해 범죄 발생을 예측 가능하다. In the recently, violent crime and accidental crime has been generated continuously. Consequently, people anxiety has been heightened. The Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) has been used to ensure the security and evidence for the crimes. However, the video captured from CCTV has being used in the post-processing to apply to the evidence. In this paper, we propose a flexible multi-level models for estimating whether dangerous behavior and the environment and context for pedestrians. The situation analysis builds the knowledge for the pedestrians tracking. Finally, the decision step decides and notifies the threat situation when the behavior observed object is determined to abnormal behavior. Thereby, tracking the behavior of objects in a multi-region, it can be seen that the risk of the object behavior. It can be predicted by the behavior prediction of crime.

        식물의 감수분열에서 상동 재조합 효소 특이 기능의 연구현황 및 전망

        Meiosis is a specialized cell division, essential in most reproducing organisms to halve the number of chromosomes, thereby enabling the restoration of ploidy levels during fertilization. A key step in meiosis is homologous recombination, which promotes homologous pairing and generates crossovers (COs) to connect homologous chromosomes until their separation at anaphase I. These CO sites, seen cytologically as chiasmata, represent a reciprocal exchange of genetic information between two homologous non-sister chromatids. RAD51, the eukaryotic homolog of the bacterial RecA recombinase, plays a central role in homologous recombination (HR) in yeast and animals. Loss of RAD51 function causes lethality in the flowering plant, Arabidopsis thaliana, suggesting that RAD51 has a meiotic stage-specific function that is different from homologous pairing activity.
