        해열탕(解熱湯)이 LPS로 자극된 대식세포에 있어 염증관련 Cytokine 발현억제에 미치는 효과

        Background and Objective : Haeyeol-tang, composed of Houttuyniae Herba, Lonicerae Flos, Taraxaci Herba, and Scrophulariae Radix, is widely used for alleviating the symptom of various kinds of inflammatory pulmonary disease, including asthma and COPD. We want to know whether Haeyeol-tang has an anti-inflammatory effect by analyzing expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Materials and Methods : We differentiated the THP-1 cells into macrophage-like cells by treatment with PMA. Inflammation was induced by treatment with LPS and PMA. We found the safe concentration of Haeyeol-tang by using MTS assay and used PD98059 as a negative control for comparison of anti-inflammatory effect of Haeyeol-tang. Results : The RT-PCR analysis results show that the cell survival rate is over 100% within 1 ng/mL to 1 ug/mL of Haeyeol-tang and begins to decrease under 100% at 10 ug/mL. The gene expression of $IL-1{\beta}$, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, $TNF-{\alpha}$ and $TGF-{\beta}$ levels were down-regulated when Haeyeol-tang was treated at concentrations between 1 ng/mL an 1 ug/mL on monocyte-derived macrophages. Interestingly, 1 ug/mL Haeyeol-tang-treated samples showed that the transcriptional activities of IL-8, $TNF-{\alpha}$, IL-10 and $TGF-{\beta}$ were more down-regulated than those of PD098059 $(TNF-{\alpha}$ inhibitor). At protein level, the ELISA analysis results showed that there were more remarkable (p<0.001) decreases in expression of $IL-1{\beta}$, IL-6, IL-8 and $TNF-{\alpha}$ on both the 1 ug/mL Haeyeol-tang-treated group and the PD98059-treated group than the LPS-treated group. Conclusion : We conclude that Haeyeol-tang has an anti-inflammatory effect by inhibiting expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines at mRNA and protein levels. These results may provide us a promising way to care for general inflammatory diseases as well as inflammatory pulmonary disease, including asthma and COPD, with further clinical study.

        맥문동(麥門冬)이 C57BL/6J 생쥐의 Bleomycin 폐섬유화(肺纖維化)에 미치는 영향(影響)

        Objectives : The aim was to identify the inhibitory effects of Liriopis Tuber on bleomycin-induced lung fibrosis by analysing the changes of imflammatory cell cytokines and SHI(Semiquantitative Histological Index), Materials and Methods : In this study fibrosis prone C57BL/6J mice were used. Control group was treated with blomycin(0.06mg/0.1 ml) by IT(intratracheal) instillation which is a popular method of inducing lung fibrosis and sample group took Liriopis Tuber water extract(38.0mg/10g body weight) orally for 14 days after IT instillation of blomycin. We measured the total and differential count of WBC, $IFN-{\gamma}$ & IL-4 in mice BALF and SHI(Semiquantitative Histological Index) from lung tissues of mice. BALF and lung tissues of mice were taken 14 days after IT instillation of blomycin. Results : In sample group total WBC count, proportion of neutrophil, SHI and IL-4 significantly(p<0.05) decreased, proportion of macrophage significantly(p<0.05) increased and proportion of lymphocyte, $IFN-{\gamma}$ did not decrease significantly. Conclusions : This study suggests that Liriopis Tuber has an inhibitory effects of pulmonary fibrosis by attenuation of inflammation and Th2 immune response. To determine whether this herbal medicine contribute to cure and prophylaxis of pulmonary fibrosis, further studies on the role of $IFN-{\gamma}$ relating to fibrosis are required.

        암과 운동에 관한 문헌적 고찰

        The purpose of this study is to understand effects of physical exercise program on improvements in mental and physical function and the quality of life through a review of the literature, to provide information about the importance and benefits of exercise for cancer patients, and in order to offer basic data for the development of an exercise program to meet the physical needs of each patient. By taking into consideration the review of the domestic and international literatures, the following results were obtained: First, positive effects of physical exercise program on physical function of cancer patients were reported. Since physical exercise can improve physical function, such as cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, and aerobic capacity, and reduced fatigue and improved vitality in cancer patients were observed. In addition, physical activity and exercise have effects on improvements in physical and mental capabilities; they reduce patient distress, anxiety, depression, stress, confusion, and mistrust associated with the emotional mental health improvement that can contribute to improve the quality of life of cancer patients.

      • 수영훈련이 중년여성들의 혈중지질농도에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of swim training on the blood lipid profile. 14 house wives at B leisure town were selected as subject and then divided into two group ; The control group with 7 house wives, the training group with 7 house wives. Swim training was performed by 7 house wives of the training group, three times a week for the period of 12 weeks. To evaluate the change of TC, LDL-C, HDL-C, TG, each member was measured. The pre test was enforced before taking the experiment, and the post test was operated after taking the experiment 12 weeks later. The result were as follows; 1. Significant(p=0.0001) change was decreased TC in the swim training group, bun non significant change appeared control group after 12 weeks later. 2. Significant(p=0.0001) change was increased HDL-C in the swim training group, but significant(p=0.0476) change decrease control group after 12 weeks later. 3. Significant(p=0.0001) change was decreased HDL-C in the swim training group, but significant(p=0.0233) change increase control group after 12 weeks later. 4. Significant(p=0.0001) change was decreased TG in the swim training group, bun non significant change appeared control group after 12 weeks later.

        여가활동 진행자의 비언어적 커뮤니케이션에 따른 재미요인, 프로그램만족, 재참가의사의 관계 분석

        This study analyzed the effect on the factor of fun, satisfaction with programs, and intention to repeated participation of nonverbal communication of the lecturer making progress of leisure program. It aimed at seeking effectivity and necessity of nonverbal communication performed by lecturers making progress of leisure program and at presenting affirmative relationship formulation among lecturers and participants and the way to make an effective progress of the program. It leaded the conclusion as followings. First, the hearing language factor of nonverbal communication had an affirmative effect on physiopsychological efficacy of fun factor, experience in accomplishment, and low load over class works. The physical language and hearing language factor of nonverbal communication had an affirmative effect on sociality enhancement. Second, body language and hearing language of nonverbal communication had an affirmative effect on program operation and program circumstances, spatial language, exterior oriented language, and hearing language of nonverbal communication had an affirmative effect on program progression, and body language, spatial language, and hearing language of nonverbal communication had an affirmative effect on health life. Third, body language, hearing language of nonverbal communication had an affirmative effect on repeated participation intention.

        폴리페놀 섭취가 경계성고혈압자의 유산소운동 중 심혈관 반응에 미치는 효과

        It is reported that polyphenol supplementation reduces blood pressure in normotensive subjects at rest. It is not known that polyphenol supplementation during dynamic exercise in prehypertensive Men. Thus, the purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of dietary nitrate derived from polyphenol on dynamic exercise in prehypertensives compared to the placebo supplementation. 11 prehypertensives (23.4±0.8 yrs) were recruited in this study. All subjects were assigned in a randomized, double-blind, crossover design to receive polyphenol extract (600 mg/day) and placebo (600 mg/day). The subjects were completed dynamic exercise at workload (50% of VO2peak). On day, the same protocol was repeated after polyphenol and placebo supplementation. All subjects were continuously instrumented to measure heart rate (HR), stroke volume (SV), and obtain cardiac output (CO), mean arterial pressure (MAP), total peripheral resistance (TPR) at rest and during dynamic exercise. After polyphenol supplementation, MAP were significantly decreased at rest (99.9±1.2 vs. 97.4±1.0 mmHg) and during exercise (124.9±1.6 vs. 120.9±1.6 mmHg) compared to before supplementation. Also TPR was significantly decreased at rest. CO was significantly increased and TPR was significantly decreased during exercise compared to before supplementation. We demonstrated that polyphenol attenuated exercising BP via peripheral vasodilation in prehypertensives. Therefore, this study suggests that polyphenol supplementation are regarded as healthy and associated with low incidence of cardiovascular disease in prehypertensives.

        남녀 노인의 6분 걷기 검사와 강도별 신체활동량 수준과의 관련성

        The cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems have received most attention as they are involved with most basic functions of everyday life. Maximal aerobic performance is reduced with age. The 6 minute walk test (6 MWT) is an useful assessment instrument for the exercise capacity of elderly. The impact of the physical activity status on the 6MWT-distance, however, remains unclear in the Korean elderly. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether the magnitude of regular exercise/physical activity is related to 6 MWT distance and to suggest a new evaluation standard for exercise capacity in older adults. Elderly people (206 men, 265 women) in a local community performed an IPAQ-7 questionnaire for the assessment of physical activity and participated in 6 MWT. The distance in 6 MWT was significantly reduced with advancing age in both men and women, consistent with a marked decrease in physical activity over aging. In contrast, physically active elderly individuals (more than 150 −300 min/week) showed a considerably longer distance in 6 MWT than that of less active individuals (less than 150 min/week). In conclusion, it is suggested that older adults who participate in regular physical activity with moderate/vigorous intensity for 150−300 min/week show greater aerobic endurance capacity than that of less active older adults. The innovative standard established in the present study contributes to the assessment of cardio-respiratory fitness level and would be utilized for exercise prescription of elderly individuals.

        필라테스 실시자의 호흡순환기능과 혈관내피기능 및 신체기능 평가

        Pilates exercise has become increasing in popularity and has begun to have an impact in rehabilitation. Pilates is a type of designed exercise programs to fuse the mind and body so that the body benefits optimal balance, strength and health. However, Pilates research is limited due to small sample size and is not feasible for all to use. The purpose of this thesis was to investigate if a Pilates-based program is effective in improving cardiorespiratory fitness, functional movement, and vascular function in healthy female. Using a cross-sectional design, the subjects were assigned to three groups, the first group: the instructors who underwent at least 1 year pilates exercise (PEG), the second group: the instructors who underwent at least 1 year yoga exercise (YEG), the third, sedentary group (SG). The maximum oxygen consumption (VO2max), dynamic balance, flow-mediated dilation (FMD), and deep squat, hurdle step, incline lunge, shoulder mobility, active straight-leg raise, trunk stability push-up, rotary stability for functional movement test were evaluated between groups. Both PEG and YEG were significantly higher in VO2max and functional movement compared with SG. Whereas there were no differences in FMD between groups, the dynamic balance were significantly higher in PEG compared with both YEG and SG. There were no differences in resting blood pressure between groups. This study suggests that pilates is safe, easily accessible exercise program comparable to yoga program and to improve aerobic fitness, dynamic balance, and functional movement in young individuals.

      • 폐경 전 , 후 여성들의 신체구성과 골밀도와의 상관관계

        The purpose of this study investigated on body composition and bone mineral density in pre and post menopause. Subjects for this purpose consisted to residents of Seoul cities over 30 years a total a 41 adults women(30 aged 13, 40 aged 14, 50 aged 14). Variables of the study included comparison for physique, body composition and bone mineral density(BMD) in age, degree of pre and post menopause, relationship between physique, body composition factors and bone mineral density. The results as follows; 1. different of bone mineral density in pre and postmenopause. 1) In factors of trunk BMD showed in significantly different pre menopause group less then post menopause group. 2) In factors of ribs BMD showed in significantly different pre menopause group less then post menopause group. 3) In factors of spine BMD showed in significantly different pre menopause group less then post menopause group. 4) In factors of pelvis BMD showed in significantly different pre menopause group less then post menopause group. 5) In factors of total BMD showed in significantly different pre menopause group less then post menopause group. 2. Relationship between the body composition and bone mineral density. 1) Age and trunk BMD(r=-0.43), pelvis have significant negative relation. 2) Weight and trunk BMD(r=0.52), ribs BMD(r=0.54), spine BMD(r=0.53), total BMD(r=0.53) have significant positive relation. 3) LBM and trunk BMD(r=0.52), ribs BMD(r=0.54), spine BMD(r=0.53), total BMD(r=0.53) have significant positive relation.
