        난용도입계의 우량교배조합 선발시험

        966The study was carried out to select the superior laying hens by crossing of 5 White Leghorn strains. The colonial strain females which were imported from U. S. in 1967 were crossed with 4 different inbred strain male of White Leghorn. Body weight at 8 weeks, at first egg, at 300 and 500 days were heavier in crossbreeds than in imported strain. Age at first egg was similar in crossbred and in imported strain. The egg weight of crossbreeds (58.78g) was heavier than mid-parents but lighter than imported strain (60.57g). Crossbred, except M×C, produced 24-27 more eggs than imported strain#on the basis of hen-housed. Feed requirement per 1 ㎏ egg production was similar between crossbred and imported strain. On the basis of the results of this study, to make maximum heterosis for egg production, it is recommended that Colonial inbredstrain female should be cross with male of Sung Hwan, Darvy and Dembro strains. 1967년에 미국에서 도입한 백색레구혼코로니 알계통 원종계의 우수한 교배조합을 선발하여 우수한 산란계를 일반 양축가에게 보급할 수 있는 자료를 얻고저 1969년 3월부터 1970년 8월까지 도입계코로니 알계통을 모계로 하고 그외 4계통의 근친계를 부계로 하여 본시험을 실서 하였다. 8주령체중 초산시체중 300일 및 500일령 체중에 있어서 교태종이 무거웠다. 초산일령에 있어서는 교배종이 167~176일로서 도입계의 초산일령 168일과 비슷하였다. 란중은 교배종 58.87g으로서 양친평균보다는 무거웠으나 도입계의 60.57g 보다는 가벼웠다. 500일령 Henhoused 산란지수는 교배종 M×C구를 제외하고는 194~197개로서 도입계보다 24~27개 많았다. 사료요구율에 있어서는 도입계와 교배구간에 큰 차가 없었으며 생존율에 있어서도 육성율을 제외하고는 교배종과 도입계간에 별 차가 없었다. 이상의 결과로 보아 도입계 코로니알 계통은 성환계통(S), 다-비계통(B), 뎀부로계통(A) 등과 교배하여 사육하는 것이 좋을 것으로 생각된다.

        닭의 경제형질에 대한 유전력 및 유전상관에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study was to evaluate the value of initial egg weights as selection criterion of laying hens for improvement of egg production performance. Data here used came from records of 406 white leghorn hen progenies produced by hierachal mating of 44 sires and 201 dams at three different hatching stages, which were maintained at Livestock Experiment Station. The data were analysed by the method of variance component analysis to estimate heritabilities, maternal variance, on 5 economic traits and genetic, phenotypic and environmental correlations among them. The results obtained were as follows: 1. The heritability estimates were 0.549 for body weight at first egg, 0.500 for age at first egg, 0.160 for initial egg weight, 0.398 for matured egg weight and 0.429 for egg number to 500 days. 2. The fraction of the total variance which were due to the maternal effect was 0.175 for body weight at first egg, 0.204 for age at first egg, -0.058 for initial egg weight, 0.140 for matured egg weight and 0.095 for egg number to 500 days. 3. The genetic correlations of body weight at first egg with age at first egg, initial egg weight, matured egg weight and egg number to 500 days were -0.503. 0.300, -0.186 and -0.105, respectively. The genetic correlations of age at first egg with initial egg weight, matured egg weight and egg number to 500 days were 0.501, -0.238 and -1.969. The genetic correlations of initial egg weight with matured egg weight and egg number to 500 days were 0.493 and -0.537. There was 0.068 of genetic correlations between matured egg weight arid egg number to 500 days. On the basis of the results obtained in this study, it is recommented that for the effective improvement of egg weight, selection should be practiced for initial egg weight.

        육돈생산을 위한 우량교배조합 선발시험

        The results of a crossbreeding experiment with a total of 315 pigs of Berkshires, Hampshires, Durocs, Landraces, Large Whites, seven different twobreed crosses and twelve different three-breed crosses, produced at Livestock Experiment Station from 1975 through 1979, are summarized as follows. 1. The three-breed cross from D♂×(H♂×L♀) F₁♀ mating had the highest average daily gain and lowest feed requirement per unit gain, followed by the D♂×(Lw♂×L♀) F₁and H♂×(Lw♂×L♀) F₁♀ matings. The Berkshires and Landraces ranked lowest among the 24 mating groups compared for both of the traits. Males had higher average daily gain than females by about 0.06㎏ and had lower feed requirement by about 0.14. 2 . The three-breed crosses from D♂×(H♂×L♀) F₁♀, D♂×(Lw♂×L♀) F₁♀ and H♂×(Lw♂×L♀) F₁♀ matings reached 90㎏ body weight at younger age than the other groups. The D♂×(H♂×L♀) F₁♀ group reached 90㎏ at younger age than the Landrace by 39 days. The effects of the mating group, year, season and sex were statistically significant for the average daily gain, feed requirement and age at 90㎏ body weight. 3. The dressing percentage and lean meat percentage tended to be higher in H♂×(Lw♂×L♀) F₁♀, H♂×L♀ and H♂×B♀ matings compared to the other mating groups. The effects of the mating group and season were statistically significant, but the effects of the year and sex were not significant. 4. The loin-eye area was largest in the Kw♂×L♀ mating and smallest in the B♂×L♀ mating. Males had higher dressing percentage, higher lean meat percentage and loin-eye area than females. 5. The backfat was thinnest in purebred Hampshire and was thickest in B♂×L♀mating. The effects of the mating group and year were significant, but the effects of the season and sex were not significant. 6. The results obtained in the study suggest that the three-breed crosses from D♂×(H♂×L♀) F₁♀, D♂×(Lw♂×L♀) F₁♀ and H♂×(Lw♂×L♀) F₁♀ matings are superior crossbreds for pork production.

        한우의 이상염색체 분포에 관한 연구

        Through chromosomal analysis of 109 heads of the Korean Native Cattles, this research was observed results as follows; 1. Six heads(5.5%) were cosisted of two kinds of mosaic chromosomal spreads( I : monosomy, normal and trisomy II: monosony and normal) and these mosaicsms were variated at #29 chromosome. 2. One head was showed supernumery chromosome suggested B-chromosome. 3. 1/29 Robertsonian translocation was not found in the Korean Native Cattles.

        염색체의 배수성 증가에 의한 닭의 신품종 개발 2 . 다배수성 개체의 생산

        For the induction of polyploid chicken. 660 birds were supressed by tri-ethylene melamine(0.25mg/2kg B.W) and 330 fertilized eggs from chicken of 24 hours laying cycle were incubated. Only 65 chickens Acre hatched in observation of many dead eggs and pips caused to unbalanced genetic structure. At 10-12 weeks of age chromosomal structures of 55 chickens were analysed in blood culture and 4 of them were identified as polyploid (3A+ZZW). Characteristics of polyploid chickens were heavier weight 21% and 88% than normal male and female at 30 weeks of age, sterility of female and weak legs. Through analysis of chromosomal structure of G-and C-banding polyploid chicken were observed the three pairs of chromosomes without specific genetical disorders.

        난용종계의 난질의 유전력 및 유전상관에 관한 연구

        This study was conducted to improve the interior egg quality with a total of 6,093 eggs, laid at 351 Single Comb White Leghorns and 326 Rhode Island Reds, produced at National Livestock Breeding Station from March 1, 1979 through July 30, 1980. The results obtained are summarized as follows; 1. The average albumen height of the eggs at first eggs, 300 and 500 days of age was 8.32, 7.51 and 6.74㎜ in the S.C.W. Leghorn and 8.04, 6.94 and 6.05㎜ in the R.L.Red, and the Haugh units at first egg, 300 and S00 days of age was 90.92, 79.74 and 76.25 in the S.C.W. Leghorn, and 88.54, 80.02 and 74.56 in the R.I. Red, also the egg shell thickness at first egg, 300 and 500 days of age was 0.383, (1.364 and 0.334㎜ in the S.C.W. Leghorn and 0.354, 0.332 and 0.327 in the R.I. Red. 2. The heritability estimates in the S.C.W. Leghorn and R.I. Red were 0.398∼0.847 and 0.306∼0.634 for albumen height, 0.162∼0.594 and 0.125∼0.485 for Haugh units, 0.185-0.339 and 0.176∼0.402 for egg shell thickness, respectively. 3. The genetic correlation coefficients between the interior egg qualities were as follows. In the S.C.W. Leghorn and R.I. Red, the coefficients between albumen height and Haugh units, 0.432∼0.845 arid 0.397∼0.974; between albumen height and egg shell thickness, 0.046∼0.226 and 0.068∼0.197; between Haugh units and egg shell thickness, 0.089∼0.364 and 0.165∼0.327 ; respectively.

        계란(鷄卵)의 난각파손(卵殼破損) 방지(防止)를 위한 난좌(卵座) 개발(開發)에 관한 연구(硏究)

        난좌(卵座)의 구면(球面)과 난각(卵殼)의 구면(球面)이 계란(鷄卵)의 파각도(破殼度)에 미치는 영향(影響)을 구명(究明)코져 실험(實驗)을 실시(實施)하였던바 다음과 같은 결과(結果)를 얻었기에 보고(報告)하는 바이다. 1. 9개 국가(國家)(미국, 프랑스, 이태리, 태국, 일본, 네델란드, 러시아, 한국, 스위스)에서 수집(蒐集)한 22종의 난좌형태(卵座形態)를 조사(調査)한 결과(結果), 우리 나라의 난좌(卵座)를 제외(除外)한 8개 국가(國家)의 난좌(卵座)는 그 세부(細部) 형태(形態)가 모두 상이(相異)하였다. 2. 4개의 모형난좌(模型卵座)에서 파각도(破殼度)를 측정(測定)한 결과(結果) B형, D형이 가장 파격도(破格度)가 높은 결과(結果)였다. 앞으로 난좌(卵座)를 제조(製造)할시 계란(鷄卵)의 구면(球面)과 난좌(卵座)의 구면(球面)이 서로 알맞아 파각도(破殼度)를 높일 수 있는 본(本) 시험(試驗)의 B형과 D형으로 제조(製造)하는 것이 가장 바람직할 것으로 사료되었다. 난좌가 견고하다고 해서 파각도가 높아지는 것은 아니었다. 본(本) 실험(實驗)에 공시(供試)한 전체(全體) 계란(鷄卵)의 난각(卵殼) 두께 성적의 통계 처리 결과 유의성이 없었다(P>0.05). 3. 난좌(卵座)에 포장(包裝)되어 계란(鷄卵)이 수송(輸送)될 때, 그 계란(鷄卵)의 구면(球面)에 따라 난좌(卵座)의 형(型)이 얼마나 넓은 면적(面積)으로 감쌀 수 있느냐가 파각도(破殼度)를 좌우(左右)하는 중요(重要)한 관건(關鍵)임을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 난좌(卵座) 제조시(製造時) 상단부(上段部) 난중(卵重)이 하단부(下段部) 난좌(卵座) 내부(內部)의 계란(鷄卵)에 미치는 하중(荷重)을 고려해서 난좌(卵座)의 내부구면(內部球面)과 계란(鷄卵)의 외내부구면(外內部球面)이 알맞을 수 있도록 만들어야 할 것으로 사료(思料)되었다. 4. 현재(現在) 우리나라에서 실시(實施)하고 있는 것처럼 1개의 난좌형(卵座型)으로 대란(大卵), 중란(中卵) 및 소란(小卵)을 공통(共通)으로 사용(使用)하는 것보다는 난중(卵重)에 따른 적정(適正) 난좌(卵座)가 개발(開發)되어 사용(使用) 될 수 있는 방안(方案)도 강구(講究)되어야 할 것으로 사료(思料)되었다. This study was carried out to investigate the effects of shperical surface of eggs tray and eggshell on breaking strength of eggs for the development of a new egg tray design to prevent eggshell breakage. The results obtained were as follows: 1. According to the results obtained from investigation on the types of 22 egg trays collected from 9 countries(USA, Italy, France, Thailand, Japan, Netherland, Russia, Korea and Swiss), all egg trays except those from Korea were different in their types. 2. According to the determination of breaking strength for 4 pilot egg trays, type B and D were high in breaking strength. Trays B and D which would fit with the spherical surface of egg so that they could increase breaking strength were most recommendable. Breaking strength was not increased even though egg tray was strong. Thickness of eggshell of experimental eggs used in this experiment have no significance (P>0.05). 3. When eggs are packed and transported in egg tray, the breaking strength will depend on how much spherical surface of egg are covered by the spherical surface of the egg tray. Therefore, the inner spherical surface of egg tray must fit to the outer spherical surface of eggs when the egg tray is manufactured. 4. At present, there is only one type of egg tray being used in Korea despite the various egg sizes. In order to minimize the eggshell breakage, however, proper sizes or types of egg trays should be developed for each different categories of the egg size.

        산란계에 있어서 부화시간의 유전에 관한 연구

        This study was carried out to estimate the heritabilities of hatching time, chicks weight and ratio of chick weight to egg weight. The data used in this study were the records of 1,090 chicks from two strains of white Leghorn. The hatching times were a few differ between strains but big differences were showed among families. The positive genetic correlations estimated both sire and dam components were 0.274 between hatching time and chick weight, and 0.289 between chick weight and ratio of chick weight to egg weight.

        The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the relative economic importance of the major production traits in laying hens.
