There are three major motives for M&A, financial synergy effect, operating & managerial synergy effect, and tax effect. The purpose of this study is to prove the operating & managerial synergy effect of M&A. To do this, we analyze the market-ripple effect of M&A, focusing on the increase in market power. Specifically we use cross-sectional data from 1985 to 1998 to show whether a market power of mergers is higher than that of a matched non-merging control group. we use time series data to show whether a market power of merger is higher than that of pre-merger. Also we use the event study using market model to show the stock price movement after mergers. The result is that although revenue increase after mergers, profit of the firms does not improve after mergers. Also there is sufficient evidence to say that there is a cumulative abnormal return for the firms after mergers.

제한된 자원 하에서 멀티미디어 컨텐츠를 이용하기 위해서는 XML로 표현되는 MPEG-7 문서의 효율적인 관리 방법이 필요하다. 이 때 XML 문서 클러스터링 방법들을 이용할 수 있겠으나 보다 효율성을 높이기 위해 MPEG-7 문서의 특성을 반영한 새로운 방법이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 MPEG-7 문서를 효율적으로 관리하기 위해 MPEG-7 문서의 엘리먼트들 사이에 나타나는 의미 관련성을 이용해 저장할 수 있는 새로운 클러스터링 방법을 제안하고, 이를 기존 방법들과 비교하였다. To use multimedia contents in restricted resources, any management method of MPEG-7 documents is needed. At this time, some XML clustering methods can be used. But, to improve the performance efficiency better, new clustering method which uses the characteristics of MPEG-7 documents is needed. In this paper, we suggest a new clustering method to manage MPEG-7 documents efficiently, which uses some semantic relationships among elements of MPEG-7 documents. And also we compare it to the existed clustering methods.

현재 초고속으로 발전하는 유비쿼터스(ubiquitous) 환경에서 센서-Network를 기반으로 한 u-Campus구축이 발전하고 있다. 또한 PC, mobile등 그 어떤 정보기기라도 언제 어디서든 컴퓨팅이 가능하며 무선망의 발전으로 서비스 환경은 계속적으로 발전하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 mobile 활용을 이용한 사용자 환경에 적합한 u-Campus를 제안한다. u-Campus는 정보통신기술의 발전과 더불어 다양한 관련 기술이 교육에도 접목되어 활용되고 있다. 특히 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅과 Network 기술을 대학의 캠퍼스에 접목시켜 구축한 새로운 형태의 캠퍼스가 u-Campus이다. 본 논문에서는 u-Yuhan 설계 방안을 제안하여 학생들의 효율적이고 향상된 학내 활동이 가능하도록 한다. In the ubiquitous which is rapidly developing with ultra speed thes days, constructing the u-Campus which is using the sensor-Network as its base is keep developing. Also, any information related equipments like PC and mobile, computing is possible whenever and wherever you want and due to the development of the wireless Network, the service environment is continually developing. In this article, I'd like to suggest the u-Campus which is very suitable to the user's environment which had used application of mobile. In u-Campus, various techniques are adopted and applied along with development of info-communication related technidques. Especially, the new type of campus which is constructed by adopting the ubiquitous computing net-work technique to the campus of university is the u-Campus. In this article, by suggesting u-Yuhan designing methods, more effective and advanced school activities of students to make possible.

최근, 우리는 국가적으로 유비쿼터스 기술을 기반으로 국가를 경영하고 발전시키는 u-Korea 전략을 제시 하였다. 이에 따라, 유비쿼터스는 다양한 분야에 사용되고 있으며 멀티미디어 분야에 특히 활용성이 중대되고 있다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 유비쿼터스 관련 계획들의 동향과 특성을 분석한 후 유비쿼터스 기반에서의 모바일을 이용한 멀티미디어 영상을 처리하기 위한 설계안을 제시한다.

RFID/USN 은 유비쿼터스 사회의 중요한 기반 인프라로서 고려되며 다양한 연구를 통해 실용적인 접목이 시도되고 있다. 특히 u-마트 시스템에서 물류의 입출 재고와 상태 관리를 위한 연구가 진행 중에 있다. u- 마트는 태그를 부착하여 입/출고시의 물품을 식별하고, 무선 통신기능을 가진 센서 모듈에 의해 환경 상태 정보를 파악하는 물품의 형태로 이루어진다. 본 논문에서는 RFID/USN 기반의 u-마트 상태 관리 시스템에서 RFID태그를 이용한 고객 만족 시스템 구성을 제안하고 상품의 상세한 정보를 파악하여 관리자에게 실시간으로 정보를 제공하는 이동형 리더기를 제안한다. 그리고 소비의 주체인 고객에게 RFID태그를 이용한 적절한 제품 정보의 제공과 제어 정보의 제공을 위한 개선 방안을 제시한다. RFID/USN is considered important basic infra of ubiquitous community and tried practical adaption through various research. Specially, there is during researcher progresses for stock and state management of logistics to let you get at u-mart systems. It discern thing from warehouse to deliver as adhere RFID tag of palette in keeping unit of article and construct form of thing to analyze information of environment status using sence module based on function of wireless communication. in the paper, propose composition of customer satisfaction system using RFID tag in u-Mart status management system based on RFID/USN and according to analysis specific information of commodity, propose movement reader device to offer real-time information from customer. And it presents the improvement program for the provision of product information which is appropriate uses the RFID tag and the provision of control information in the customer who is a core of consuming.

Sampling Frequency and the Power of Tests for a Unit Root : a Simulation Study

본 연구는 표본수에 따른 Phillips-Perron(PP)검정과 수정된 Dickey-Fuller(ADF)단위근 검정의 검정력을 모의실험을 통하여 살펴보았다. 본 연구에서 빈도수가 많은 자료(예 : 월별자료)를 사용한 결과 ADF 검정의 유한표본 검정력이 유의하게 개선됨을 보여주었다. 또한 특별히 빈도수가 적은 자료(예-년별자료)에 대하여 유한 표본에서 PP검정이 ADF검정보다 검정력이 좀더 강함을 볼 수 있었다. This paper studies the effects of sampling frequencies on the powers of the Phillips-Perron and augmented Dickey-Fuller tests for a unit root by simulation. It is shown that using the data with high sampling frequency can provide significant improvements in the finite sample powers of the augmented Dickey-Fuller tests. In addition, especially for the data with low sampling frequency, the Phillip-Perron tests appear to be more powerful than the augmented Dickey-Fuller test in finite samples, according to our experimental format.
